Theyre Wired in 1 ohm according to a diagram i found online which should be 200watts(1k to each sub) and yet my 1000 watt ma audio amp between the two hit like twice as hard. I dont really have any idea what to do as far as adjusting an amp so any suggestions would be great

If you want lightweight, Baltic birch ply in 3/4" will be the same or less weight than a 1/2" mdf enclosure. Considering weight & SQ are your paramount issues, I would 1) Limit the enclosure material weight, obviously IB is best, small sealed 2nd, 2) Pick my driver based on what it can do, but also with enclosure size as part of the equation, 3) Limit the overall weight of the driver as this will make a HUGE impact on the overall weight. So what am I saying? I'd use a different sub and just a single one. That will give you more weight savings than looking at just the thickness of the enclosure. If you do use both, I would argue that you aren't that concerned with …

IIRC the Brahma had 3 slugs instead of a really tall top-plate (like the 02-025 xxx) because of cosmetic reasons.

Its 4.5" LENGTH after the corner of the port. Not width. It's stilll 5" wide. Nice design! Not talking about the length that is given. 15.25" port wall + .75" for the second wall = 16" 20.5" of internal depth - 16" = 4.5" away from the rear wall. Not to mention if it was 5" from the back it would be tuned to 34hz
