I just picked up a pair of MTX Thunder TA81001D amps, and according to the engineers at MTX there is no way to disable the subsonic filter or bypass the built in EQ in the pre-amp board (which is a crock). The TA92001, TE4001, and TE1501 units all have a button to bypass all of this garbage, but no such button exists on the TA81001. If you take the pre-amp board out, you can clearly see a spot on the board for the bypass switch - Labeled as "S102". MTX refuses to give me a schematic or instructions on what needs to be jumpered, removed, etc. to eliminate the EQ and Subsonic filter pieces. I'm about to tear into it myself, but figured I would ask here first. If anyone has …

I'm currently running 2 dual 2ohm sa-12's and plan on upgrading my amp (currently a crunch 1500 lol, it's getting the job done for now) to 2 saz-1500d's. Right now I'm just saving up money for the amps and working on my electrical. I currently added a lead straight from the alternator to the battery. Replaced the lead from the battery to the chassis and sanded it to bare metal. Added a lead from the block to the the battery. And finally today I added a lead from the block to the chassis (using the same spots as the other grounds). Is upgrading this wire even necessary? After I put that on I had a reading of 14.1X. I recently purchased a 12" Q powered by a hifonics 1206D at 1 ohm. its in a 2.87 cube box tuned (according to my cabin) to 25Hz. its in a 96 4 door blazer. up front i have dayton classic midbass, dayton reference midrange, audax tweets powered by a couple cheap amps (until i can afford a quality 6ch amp) and my crossover is an old PPI frx-456. HU is kenwood excelon kdx-589. using knukonceptz klarity kables for main RCA's and dayton audio rca's from the crossover to the amps. 1/0 wire all around, even big three. i love my Q. it blends so well with the rest of the components. and so looooooooow
