Test 1, 2, 3...

I've got the box built, and am ready to mount the sub into the box. I need to know what size screws to use and Do the screws go through the top of the gasket, through the frame and through the bottom side of the gasket into the box, or do I lift up the gasket on top and just put the screw through the frame and through the bottom side of the gasket into the box? And Do i need any caulk or gasket material between the box and the sub for sealing?

hello. hehe really not much to say. but i haven't been in here in a bit, so here's a token post. oh, i have added to the firearm collection... a kel-tec p3at (for the front pocket, it's a 380) a new for 2007 glock 21sf (sf stands for slim frame. it's narrower then the old 21 and it has ambitextrious magazine release, another 45) and a 70's s&w model 27-2 nickel plated 357 magnum with an 8 3/8 barrel. this on is actually the son's. i'll get pictures soon. teh kel-tec i own and carry already, the other two are currently on lay-away. kent doesn't wnat no credit card payments, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I've heard a few subs make a funky sound when more power is applied to them that just doesn't sound like the bass the artist put in the song. On low volumes its fine. On higher volumes It sounds like the sub is puking. I hate that sound and i turn the bass down to when its gone. I've heard it mostly on punchy bass, long drawn out bass is usually fine. What causes this, is it when a sub exceeds its xmax or is that overrated in knowing what the sub sounds like as well? That's my only guess. I haven't heard lots of different subs but all the ones i heard did it.

I have the Optimas and they are nice, but they do not have big AH numbers so you would need a bunch of them. Look at Deka or XS Power and get one big one. First of all, not going for spl here - its purely for show, and bass racing/daily groundpounding. M5 - definitely no need to start throwing insults out there. I've got my reasons for wanting to do a system like this - no reason to insult me - you have no idea what i do or dont understand. I had 8 x 12's in a focus 4dr - sucked on the meter but it street beat like a mofo - and i always had people crowded around my car at shows - even though there were lots of cars with fewer woofers that were louder. -shrug- Never said i was doing 12 x 15's for sure anyway - just that its an option i'm looking into.
