  3. Corey, If you can even begin to say that the 9500 sounds good then, yes, this sounds about as good as the 9500

  4. Jacob, How would you rate the NS w/ these soft parts for loud daily sub. Would you say it sounds as "good" (not realy the best word to describe it) as a DD 9500? Corey

Taylor if you are really serious and just waiting for pics, I'd feel pretty darn good about buying anything from Jacob. If there were truly issues he wouldn't sell it to you period. I bet if it was way worse than you thought he would let you cancel as well. The Sundown will power the CA's and any tweet you pair them with really well, you also won't even need the cap I recommended on the tweet before since it would be built in. Considering there are crossovers it could open up your driver selection a bit as well. Great amp, great deal, great guy to do business with.

MODS... if this post is inappropriate, please feel free to delete it. As the topic says... I "MIGHT" sell 2 NIB Ascendant Audio Avalanche 18" subs. Is there any interest? What are these worth right now? Again though... I CANNOT sell these yet because I am a new member.

These drivers dont get a lot of screen time outside of the specialty home audio DIY groups but are definitely worthy of taking a look. These drivers were built with one goal in mind and that was to provide top of the line sound quality at an affordable price. The 12" models run under $130 and the 10" models come in at under $120 Some highlights from the site: The Dayton Reference Series subwoofers take the quality at an affordable price to an entirely new realm. As with the rest of the Reference Series, the main focus of these subwoofers is ultra-low-distortion. Second, third, and intemodulation distortion are kept extremely low by utilizing three short-circuit paths wi…

I just picked up a pair of MTX Thunder TA81001D amps, and according to the engineers at MTX there is no way to disable the subsonic filter or bypass the built in EQ in the pre-amp board (which is a crock). The TA92001, TE4001, and TE1501 units all have a button to bypass all of this garbage, but no such button exists on the TA81001. If you take the pre-amp board out, you can clearly see a spot on the board for the bypass switch - Labeled as "S102". MTX refuses to give me a schematic or instructions on what needs to be jumpered, removed, etc. to eliminate the EQ and Subsonic filter pieces. I'm about to tear into it myself, but figured I would ask here first. If anyone has …

  22. Nightshade proto has been re-coned finally... added to for sale list. I say the sub is "noisy" -- but it is way quieter in operation than a DD 9500 series Not to scare anyone away, but it's not a sub that I would inverse mount.

You can't really define how well they do in the lanes. They might do great for some people and shitty for others. Its all install and box dependant. As far as what they compare too, not a clue on that one.
