I ask questions so people can get answers, most are predecided and want someone to just reiterate what they like even if it is the wrong answer. I won't do that. Exactly why I rounded down to 10lbs or 66% of the weight of MDF. It won't be quite that light though. .9 came from ID direct: http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/manuals/iD/ID8D2%20V.pdf .35-.45 is recommended. I used the lower of the two and then added the volume of the two drivers which gets us to .8-.9. I did read that you said .6, but again you ask to have a nice sounding system and for that it means the sub is supposed to play the lows. Putting two of them in that small box won't help with that. As I sai…

I decided to insult you because I was trying to explain that you shouldn't fear driver parameters and call my explanation "mumbo jumbo" as though I'm TRYING to just confuse others with my fancy-pants words.

Both terminals are in parallel, either way is the same. "hook up both coils to only one side or do I hook each individual coil up."

I also have an old BP1200.1 that would put 300 watts to each one, I'll try them both out and see which one sounds the best.

I need some pointers on how to begin my build. I have a 86 full size short bed chevy truck and there is no way I can get the kind of sound Im looking for with such little space behind the seat. I want to put the subs in the bed with a blow thru into the cab. Im not looking to compete in SPL or anything like that just want the kind of bass Im use to hearing (just sold my magnum and miss it already). Im running an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit and Kicker 3.5, 6.5 in the cab will be adding components soon. The problem Im having is Ive never tried this before and dont know what type of enclosure to use or what subs for that matter. Ive always stuck to mainstream subs like J…

Not really sure what I am asking here but here goes. I am running a TC3000 15"DVC sub. Each coil is 2ohms. I am running this parallel to a SAZ1500d for a 1 ohm load. With no music this specs out at about a perfect 1 ohm at the box terminals. Now whem I measure resistance while music is playing using my trusty calibrated Fluke 87 DMM, The lowest I am seeing resistance-wise is above 3 ohms. It never gets below and of course we are not going to discuss the high point. This is all done on a 60-20 htz sweep. So one of my questions is, does this mean that my sub is at most only getting 500 ish watts? I suppose what I need to do next is measure voltage and current. Was just doin…

Guys, I'm asking for ideas as to making the box better, given my constraints. I'm not here to fight. If you can't do that, please don't post. My original question has been answered. Unless there's some relevant information to read, there's no reason to stay around. My thanks to BJ and Denim. I apologize if I forgot anyone

I don't have the time or the patients to screw with all the tags... "QUOTE I haven't used that 8, but every ID sub that I have played with preferred the enclosure on the larger side of their recommendations. Ahhh...so all 8" subs are the same. Brilliant." ok...you're saying he said all 8" subs are the same.... I'd say that's you misreading, or reading his mind? he said EVERY ID SUB. hence me informing you that ID is a sub, not a length. Saying that he said all 8" subs are the same is wrong. Please tell me where i'm arguing against my own claim? I"m not making the claims here, just letting you know what he said because you misread it. Also please show me where my "dis…
