Hello all, i have a large project on my hands. I've been commisioned(somewhat) to build a box for a 12" Orion H2. Now, the box is gonna be 2.5 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Now, for those of you who own mustangs, you know how small the trunk opening is(this kid has a mustang cobra, not the newest body style, but one from probably the late '90s) and i just need all the tips i can get on putting this box in. Most likely i'm going to have to build it IN the trunk, so any tips will be greatly appreciated. Unless you guys know of another way to get a box big enough in there. Also, i may have to hook up all the stuff for his amp. Any help there would also be appreciated(hole locati…

Ok guys I have a question, currently I'm working on my car I'm about to install my new Audio system which consist of 4x RE SX 12" d4 in a 6.8- 7.2 ft^3 enclosure tuned at 34hz powered by 2x US Amps MD-3D and for vocals I have 4x Sets of the RE 6.5 Comps thus a total of 8x RE 6.5 Speakers powered by 2x MD-21 and 4x subs. Now I was wondering since I'm modifying i could put 2x more sets(4x more RE 6.5 speakers) and 1x more MD-21, thus a total of 12x RE 6.5 Speakers for the 4x RE SX12", my car is more for Demo purpose and Carshow thus I want it to be loud Inside and also loud outside it's not a every day drive car, so should 12x RE 6.5 be good or to much for the RE Sx's, or …

  5. Just for example...I want to run 4 subs off a monoblock amp with 2 channels of amplification. If I run 2 subs wired in series to get my desired ohm load. Say I'm putting out 500 watts to one channel of power, do both subs see 500 watts? or is it changed a little?

  6. So, I've finally come to the realization that it's quite cumbersome having a large, complex stereo. My original goal was to have adequate equipment for 3-way active frontstage plus substage....but the fucking gear just doesn't fit in my trunk the way I'd prefer. I want to maintain as much trunk space as possible plus have access to my spare....and it's just not working out well. Too much equipment, not enough space. So, I'm contemplating some potential system revamps/simplifications. I currently have (of importance to this question) an Alpine 9860, H701, two JBL GTO75.4II's and a GTO1201.1II [all of which are fucking huge], and for the substage two JBL 2241H's (18"). …

I'm looking for a site that sells ring terminals and fuses for cheap. I know a lot of the popular sites do but I can't justify spending $10 for a ring terminal and $6 for a fuse just because they're gold plated or have some company name on them. I've been poking around and found a few but they mostly seem to have a lot of poor reviews and try to rape me on shipping.

I would like to apologize for my previous post here which has not been marked as spam: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/59379-xplicit-audio-new-company/#entry997621 It wasn't my intention to piss anyone off which seems to be the case. I didn't intend on trying to compete with SSA. I didn't even think of that option. So I apologize.

My 15" ssd and my box weigh a ton and its bringing my rear end down a lot.. I am thinking of downgrading to a lighter setup.. like a cvr 12 for example in a 1.5cuft sealed box, but I am keeping the kicker 750 ill just keep the gain down. Would it be terrible? I'm not a bass addict I just need some kind of low end so I don't go crazy.

I have a question for you all. I found a guy that used to own a car audio shop back in the day. He's got the whole Hifonics VII and VII series. I'm interested in a series VII Zeus. It's hard to find people that will ship to military personnel overseas and he's willing to do this. He wants $700. It's new in box. I remember when I paid $1/watt. Does this still apply for a classic amp that's 20yrs old? I'm not trying to rip this guy off or low ball him but I was thinking $500 - $600 max! Am I being cheap? All inputs are appreciated.

I finally took some pics of my cars there is nothing impressive yet still gathering equipment for both. I traded my new Viper 1200.1 for a Hifonics 1500 and Orion H2 12" + cash. I do not have pics of my Eclipse 8443 yet because I left it in the store so they can install it in my 240SX when I am ready gotta have the 3 year warranty. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade to the 8053 and get the BLA and run Cadence amps depends on funding. As of now I intend to get the Orion P.6 and the Orion 6002 if I do not get the Cadence. I was going to wait until I finished both installs but I said what the Hell... The Pics are for my '97 Altima and '90 240SX. I also have a '01 BMW 3…

Hey so I see a lot of people saying "my car peaks at 54 hertz" and I'm just wondering how exactly you find your peak frequency for your specific application. Is it something that needs to be measured using some kind of tool or can it be done by ear or some other method. Also assuming my peak frequency was 48 would you expect to find the frequencies surrounding that range playing audibly louder? If they do play louder how do you combat such a hump as to improve your SQ? My peak frequency is not something I absolutely need to know but it'd be cool to find out right and it might help in making some changes to my system.

I was personally thinking of walling off the front from the trunk. car is a 2000 coupe cavalier and theres a sound comp soon and would like some tips so any comments are appreciated. Im kinda a newbie when it comes to larger setups like this.

Hello, again. I was just wondering if anybody knew the names to these parts of the car because I need to replace them. The first one is the cover in the back of a sedan (2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT) that has the hole for the seatbelts to come through. Anyone happen to know the name of that? The other one is on the front passenger side. It's the piece most people use to hide their wires. While installing my new system, I broke a clip off of each part so now the pieces wont stay in correctly. I was just wondering if anybody knew the names of these parts so I could purchase new ones. Also, do you think eBay has these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is con…

need some help to come up with net volume and frequency for this sub. my friend will be running 2 of them in a blowthru and space is not an issue. the gray line is the rsdc (2 of them) with 1200rms, the red is 2 12" AA arsenals w/ 600 rms, and the orange is 2 12" l7s with 1200rms you can get the specs from the image if you like pg recommended, according to someone on pheonixphorum.com, specs for ported are 2.5 cubes per sub tuned at 23.28 hz. (spl secs are .8 cubes and tuned very high... like 50 hz iirc...) as you can see i bumbed it up to 24.5hz. but i still think this looks very low. i also notice you run out of xmax @ 600rms per sub.

  24. I have the least amount of knowledge when it comes to car audio systems, and that is why I have to ask you the following 4 questions. I would GREATLY appreciate any answers. 1) I just want to replace the speakers with better ones as I don’t want to drill holes in the door panel for tweeters. Does that mean that I have to buy “coaxial” speakers, instead of “component” speakers? 2)Assume that the price for the following 4 brands are the same . What brand would you choose? MB Quart, Polk Audio, Alpine, JBL 3) Whichever brand you just chose from above, can you please recommend your model preference? MB Quart - Discus 2-Way Car Speakers with Mica-Filled Poly Con…

  25. I'll use REW on my laptop. My question is can I use the omni directional microphone that came with my Kicker keysmart amp that is used to auto tweak it's built in DSP? My second question. I've never used REW before. Any tips/suggestions for the best settings/methods to measure my car's accoustics? Also should I turn off my Keysmart amp's DSP features first or will it matter? I just want a graph to see where the peaks and dips are in my frequency response. Final question. Can I measure for cancellation issues using REW?
