Question. Do passive crossovers need space for cooling? Reason, I am tired of the HD crossovers being behind the seat. I have seen other installs in the same make and model as my truck with the crossovers mounted on the door between the sheet metal and the door panel. What should i get, where, and why?

well im runnin two 15 inch DP's off of an IA40.1,, have a slot ported box.. i got on the term lab today and hit a 147 with no tuning on anything.. after i get my tuning right and everything setup the way i want it.. im hopin to gain 2 or 3 DB's , so hope fully i can get it up to around 149 DB's.. just got to say thanks to scottie johnson for hookin me up with the subs and amp.. great combo, very pleased with it,, next season ill be adding two more 15 inch DP's and another IA40.1..

Hello everyone Im kind of new too car audio and this forum and I just needed some opinions on my first system =) so im thinking about a 15'' fi ssd or 2 IA 187's run off a sundown 1000d. i have multiple questions. 1) i have two MMats 15 P3.0 . that can take 700 rms each. What amp should i use to push these? 2) i have a big custom box tuned to 30 hz . it doesnt fit in my trunk so i will be having them on my rear seat(tightly secured down) should i have them facing the roof or the front of the car? and how will it sound? thank you for everyones help. im a newbie.

Allright so within the next month I will be ordering an FI BL 12 to put in my 98 mustang gt, I currently have a soundstream tx1.2000D mono block amp to power the BL. Also I will be running it at 1ohm, do you think the BL will be able to handle the watts or should I keep the amp around 1000-1500? Any feedback is appreciated. Just want to know your thoughts

Really haven't been on here much, so i'm even more out of the loop than i was. I planned on waiting till next spring (after cross country and wrestling) to do more with my audio, but i can't wait. To start off, i really don't know a whole lot about speakers or tweeters, but i want something with good quality and good price, and from the looks of it, the Mach5 MLI-65 is great for the money. I'd also need some tweeters, and when i searched, most people recommended SEAs tweeters to compliment the mli. Does that sound good, what model of the tweeters, and are there any other suggestions? OK, well some people have asked me about Tang Band 6.5 subwoofers, model # W6-1139SG. These are very potent little 6.5s and easily comparable to the JL 6W0. I actually thought in the install it was in was better than the JL 6W0 i owned. So how many would be interested in a group buy? Minimum TOTAL order of drivers would be 10 drivers, but the even cheaper price woul dbe for a total of 100 drivers, the exact price(s) has not been determined as i need to figure in shipping and paypal fees. These can be used in either HT or car applications with good results. Also i believe there is a 5.25 version coming out 1/6/06. This could also be added into the group buy.

I kind of asked about this in my thread about my box, but didn't get any replies, so I figured I'd start a new thread. I know that using bus bars works. I'm mainly planning on doing it since I'm running 1/0 and I need something smaller for my amps, and there aren't a ton of distribution blocks that will work for that, and the bars will be cheaper, free really... I've got an old 300 amp panel in my barn that I got off a job a couple years ago. I'm planning to hack out the bus bars from it, run my 1/0 from batteries to it, and tie my amps into it also. I might plasti-dip the positive to prevent arcing. I'm also thinking about mounting them to my box. Opinions or recommenda…

hey everyone, i just got a ford ranger single cab and i want to put in some audio stuff but i don't have any idea about this kinda stuff. i took some measurements and i have 9" of depth clearance so i was looking at a 12" kicker sub encloser, a sony 900 watt amp (it says Mono subwoofer amplifier, does that affect anything?? ) and a jvc Arsenal reciever. will all the different brands be allright togeter and will i need a different battery or anything? also on crutchfield.com i saw a ranger single cab sub box with amp made by mtx would that sound better intead of the kicker one? does someone have one by any chance? thanks to everyone

I waited over the weekend to see if the Icons went on the "Outrageous Deal" but they didn't haha but since they're still at a very good price I am going to buy two of them and wanted to make sure that I will get a 1 ohm load on my amp with 2 subs if I buy two D1 subs. Is this correct?
