so upcoming in march, i have a build scheduled. my brother will be helping me with the carpentry aspects, i am doing rest of install from what i gathered in the other thread before it was closed, is that my buddy should go with a BL 18 for his 66' impala. already planning on double mids and highs, mids are most likely gonna be mach5 mli's, and tweets are undecided. who is running a BL18? what specs are the box, tuning, volume, etc. any help would be appreciated. i would like to keep this topic on a positive note, no dissing or putting down, i am sure denim is tired of closing threads.

Well it seems I am facing a "small" problem. I am looking to replace my current stock alternator with a bigger one. Anyways after searching here and on Google, I managed to find several companies who build and / or sell high output alternators, for example: HO alts, Ohio Generator, Iraggi Alts, etc. But none of those companies have a high output alternator for my car: Lexus IS 220D (Diesel) make of year is 2007. (yeah I am European). The stock alternator is already pretty high (130A), but it's not enough to power: 2x SAZ-1500D strapped & 1x SAX-100.4 (bridged) & 2x Kinetik HC1800 batteries. Anyone know a different brand or who do custom build alternators? ...or h…

what is an all around better subwoofer an 18btl or 18 solox?

I would like to install an SQ setup in my car. For right now I would like to keep the factory h/u. Also, I would like to keep all speakers in their original location just to keep everything looking stock. For subs I do not want anything more than 2 10's. I have even thought of 8's in the rear dash to make things a little lighter. Current setup.........6 speaker bose..........please view link for pics and I appreciate all suggestions. not getting my car back for another week, someone hit me and its in the shop. Now all I can do is watch my 13w7 sit, (just bought it for a deal!). I guess il just plan for some other things!

Here's the setup I'm planning for thus far: Head Unit - Pioneer Premiere DEH-P600UB (need/want the iPod control integrated, like the looks of the unit) Front Stage - Morel Tempo 6 Front Stage Amp - Sundown Audio SAX-125.2 (check SA forum, released on the 21st of Nov.) Sub Stage - Three 12" Fi SSD's Sub Box - Custom box with 1.1cu ft per woofer Sub Amp - Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D Wiring - All Stinger 1/0g, stinger RCAs, stinger distribution blocks, etc... (getting a smokin' deal on stuff from a shop going out of business). Will be upgrading the "Big 3" as well. Not planning on doing a rear stage or swapping in new rear speakers. Maybe I should throw in some matching Morel …

Im getting a new setup. 2 Fi Bl 15s and a 3000D. I plan on rewiring everything, doing the big 3, etc. Would i get dual 2 or dual 1 ohm? How would i wire this for both performance and daily use, IE: how many ohms stable and such. What options would i want on the subs, such as cooling, universal. Thanks, Drake

How are the RE SR's? i have 4 that i want to put in my 97 S-10 Blazer. My whole system was just stolen. i bought 4 because that's all they had. i intend to do 8 all together. Ported to 35Hz as they suggest. I had 4 Pioneer ts-w306 DVC's and that was LOUD. I want to be louder than that. I went with 10's because the sound cleaner and i can do more of them so the "show" factor will be a little better. And EVERYONE in Lansing Has "4 12's" and i wanted to be different and do 8 10's So what do you think? decent subs? i hope :/

I was thinking of tuning a 15" BL at 32-36 hz when I told my buddy he said I have it completely wrong. He told me that the tuning is way too low, and that hes going to be tuning his new box to around 50 hz. He told me simply because music is higher than the 32-36 range, and that I should be tuning in the 40's. Could someone explain this to me, thanks.

I have a 13w7 in a prowedge box. I am reading about the SAZ-1500D. I learned that either I can wire to run the sub at a 3ohm or .75ohm load. Is the SAZ-1500D able to handle that power, also what is the amp stable at? Any help/opinions would be appreciated. thanks!

i thought about ripping the back seats out of my car one of my questions is how is the SQ on a wall build? AND about those NIGHTSHADES are they a SQ sub or built for SPL i see that they look a lil like the btl's how do they compare..i searched but i didnt find that much info on them

my friend is on the verge of purchasing two pioneer competition woofers. the 2kw rms ones, and most likely, two t20001bd amps. that, or, two 1500d's (i am trying to push him towards sundown, hear alot of good stuff from the customers). how would you guys recommend we prepare his WRX for competition? it is a monster of of the RF 200.2 we put in this weekend, and we are almost afraid of 20 times the power. his trunk is shaped in such a way that it is a vented box, inside of a vented box. it has a little passage thingy into the cabin that it pushes the air through, it sounds quite good, (when i can keep him from cranking it up and clipping it) finally got the measurements b…

Ok guys I have a question, currently I'm working on my car I'm about to install my new Audio system which consist of 4x RE SX 12" d4 in a 6.8- 7.2 ft^3 enclosure tuned at 34hz powered by 2x US Amps MD-3D and for vocals I have 4x Sets of the RE 6.5 Comps thus a total of 8x RE 6.5 Speakers powered by 2x MD-21 and 4x subs. Now I was wondering since I'm modifying i could put 2x more sets(4x more RE 6.5 speakers) and 1x more MD-21, thus a total of 12x RE 6.5 Speakers for the 4x RE SX12", my car is more for Demo purpose and Carshow thus I want it to be loud Inside and also loud outside it's not a every day drive car, so should 12x RE 6.5 be good or to much for the RE Sx's, or …

So i have started my modified SQ build with a solid front stage going active with an alpine 9887 and mach5 mlis and seas neos all deadened with second skin and now i need a sub stage but i have no idea what to use. I want maybe 2 10s or 1 15 because i would like it to get decently loud but be tight . I listen to rock and rap. I also need another amp somewhere in the 600 watts rms range but im not sure what is good for relatively cheap. My total price range will probably be around 400 i don't really want to go any higher and i don't mind good used equipment. (offers also welcome) space will not be that big of a deal but where i want to build the box is under the rear …

so yesterday, we were chillin, and my buddy spits out, hey i think, wait- i KNOW i want two type x's in my car, when i get the new trans. i said, should be good. now. this is the funny part. he went to walmart to see what they had, in terms of two temporary 12's(something ot listen to while he is fixing up the car) he picked up two pioneer's. only 150 rms each, and only being fed 100 each, they are easily as loud as my other friends two MTX 4500 12's off of 1000w. these pioneers are in a prefab, the MTX are in a custom. can anyone explain this to me? i know there are factors like the shape of the car, but jeez!

so, i found out on saturday that after i come up with 1400 bucks for repairs, i can have my dads old car. it is a 99' ford contour. you know me, the typical basshead, already thinkin about possible woofers. i settled upon the IA-DP21 i want to put a wall where the backseat is, and integrate the box into the car. (i.e. make a box using wall of backseat, firing woofer into cabin, porting it through the rear deck) I think it would look cool as hell. Hey, I have been thinking of where to install my crossovers, I was wondering if they have to be near the front, or can I run them back to my amp rack? Josh

I have a Autotek Street Machine 1000.1RMS Mono Amp, and getting a 13.5'' W7. Will my amp be enough to power it? Alot of people have the 13.5'' w7 with a JL 1000/1 amp. I dont want to spend too much and upgrade to a better bigger amp. let me know thanks!
