Last night when hooking up a friends system, after getting everything hooked up, the subs just didn't hit. The amp light turns on but nothing is happening.. Tried testing a different sub using different speaker wire but still nothing. What could be the problem?

Hello to all! This is my first post and I'd like to get some info (please). I've a 2007 Subaru Forester that I plan on having a system installed and have some questions concerning the install. The system will consist of Tru amps, t03-250.2 (for sub) & t03-4.150 (for front tweets & mids). HU will be Clarion DRZ-9255. The speaks will be either Hybrid Audio Referernce or Seas Reference. Anyway, here are the questions & pardon me, I know only enough about installs to start a fire. 1-Are the DRZ-9255 crossovers active & do I need outbord crossovers? 2-Is there such a thing as a sub that can/will compliment the seas or Hybrid drivers? 3-I've only 2 inches of cle…

I have a Soundstream TRX 4.420,it puts out 70 watts rms x 4 channels @ 4 ohms, and 105 watts rms @2 ohms.------I have 2 sets of infinity's that run at 2 ohms,1 set of 6x9s rated at 105watts rms, and 1 set of 5 1/4 componets rated @ 75 watts rms. If I added 2 more sets and wired them together ass if it was 4 seperate dual voice coil subs in series each on there own channel would each speaker get 70 watts? or would each speaker get 35 watts? or would my amp burn up, even though it can run a 2 ohm load from running 8 speakers 2 for each channel? is this possible----------------Question #2 If this is a bad idea, and I probally will not do this anyway I was just wondering If t…

ok so ive been wanting to re-do my setup for some time now in me 2000 chevy blazer 4 door. as of now i have (had) 4 RF p3 12's and a t1500. i now have a sundown 3500 and want to move on to some higher quality subs. now heres my dilema, i wanna compete in meca shows but the rules state that my box cant be over the back of my seat. now ive been looking for 2 "small ported box" 15's that i can pound on. my buddy has 2 american bass hd 15's in a blazer xtreme doing a 147-148 and hes in my class but i dont like the hds. i need some suggestions on what kind of subs i can get to be louder than him but still haave a fairly small ported box. my max dimensions would be 37.5 x 16 x …

I'm new at car audio and this is the first system I'm installing in my car. I'm hoping that some of you can answer my questions. I recently bought two Alpine Type R 10" subs and I was wondering if a MB Quart DSC 1500.1D amp will be able to power both of these subs. Also I'm looking for a good 2Din headunit that has navigation, bluetooth, usb, and dvd playback. I've been looking at a few online, but I'm lost when it comes to quality and good brands to look at. Also, are these headunit usually powerful enough to handle two Alpine Type R coaxial speakers or will I need an amp for those too? Any suggestions would be appreciated! My system I'm trying to put together is going t…

I have the 2200 A.Q. amp. The grounded wire got hot enough to melt, so when being replaced the power wire was still connected. When connecting the ground back to the amp it caused a popping sound and white smoke to come from the amp. Is it ok to try and reconnect it still or would it have caused damage to the amp.

A few weeks ago I started a build log which I had planned on updating as I went along with the equipment I was installing. I quickly realized I had a baseline I was traveling, but quite often got off course. I'm in need of some recommendations or for someone to get me started/finished on this process. Below is what I've purchased already or have had gathered over the past months. Subwoofers: Two 12" Fi Qs Subwoofer Amp: Orion 2500D Mids: "AA" Carbon Mids Tweeters: Mids/ Tweeter Amp: Orion 8004 I had planned on running the carbon mids and a set of Seas tweeter from Madisound actively, but thats as far as this idea has went. I knew I either needed a headunit that coul…

  21. both are regarding my amp(s) and/or system. 1) whenever i have my car running, the voltage on my sub amp used to read around 14.2-14.4v, at idle. now its only reading around 12v, at idle, which is what it used to read with the truck off. which brings be to the second problem regarding this. now instead of my amp going into protect mode at 10.5v like before, its dropping down to 9v on the display. i highly doubt that its going that low. i havent touched any of the settings since i tuned it with the DMM. im not sure if its the display thats messed up, the amps reading thats wrong, or if im actually dropping that low. btw, the amp is a ma audio hk4000d that i bought off of …
