well i was messing around with the amp and i had only one of the L5 subs on hmm bass bust XD, after 1 minute i smelled something weird "it smells like chicken no wait its the sub" so after turning it down i found out that got blown now i ask is there any recone kit for them or the sub its done already i kind of got them for free so no sad feelings. i live in san antonio maybe i can take it to a shop i dont feel like spending 80 on shipping thats worth more than the sub oppps sorry place this in wrong area

My buddy has a Ford Explorer Sporttrac. You know the pickup, with quad cab. What can I put in it for a system? I was thinking a single Soundsplinter RL i8 single 4 and a sundown 1000. Sub and port fire forward at feet of rear passengers. Any other suggestions?

How are the RE SR's? i have 4 that i want to put in my 97 S-10 Blazer. My whole system was just stolen. i bought 4 because that's all they had. i intend to do 8 all together. Ported to 35Hz as they suggest. I had 4 Pioneer ts-w306 DVC's and that was LOUD. I want to be louder than that. I went with 10's because the sound cleaner and i can do more of them so the "show" factor will be a little better. And EVERYONE in Lansing Has "4 12's" and i wanted to be different and do 8 10's So what do you think? decent subs? i hope :/

well as some of you may know i had alpine type R components, but from the flex of the back deck, it broke my cross overs, im going to leave the rear fill empty but i would like to find a pair of cross overs to keep with these speakers... incase i wanna sell them.. or i buy another lincoln i have a set ready, my question is, what should i be looking for while shopping? i see all kinds... but no type R's..... so i ask does it matter?

This is a newb question. Can I put an 8 inch sub with an amp in a 2002 VW Passat and still keep the factory deck? Friend doesnt want to change stock deck. Probably a stupid question but I wondered how difficult this would be to install if this was possible. Thanks

Hey guys i currently have a Memphis m3 15 and a pr500 amp in a 4.3cuft box ported @ 34hz. Im either going to pick up a sundown sae-1200d or a saz-1500d amp next and im wonering what sub would be a good match in the 12-1500w range. Im mainly looking for eye blurring ear hurting bass and the m3 just aint cutting it. also im looking to spend around 350 for the sub.

I just picked up a Furi HQ 2200 in good working order spent $150. I cant find any info on these. Anyone know what one of these is worth and if there is a spec sheet somewere. Any help would be nice.

My alpiine cd player has started to randomly cut off and come back on while playing. I can be goin down the road listening and all of a sudden it just turns off completely and then immediately comes back on. The equip is as follows: Alpine deck AQ 1200.1 amp AQ HDC315

Okay well i got into car audio about 6 months ago. I recently purchased 2 Diamond D1 12's, a 2 farad 2000 watt capacitor, and Memphis pr 100.2. I have all of the above installed in the back of my girlfriends explorer because im getting all new stuff for my car in December, this was kind of a test type install. I installed everything myself. I have a chitty box that they are sitting in right now. Just getting into car audio, i wasn't sure what to look for when buying a box. I had another G35 buddy come to me about a subwoofer setup a few weeks back. Seems he bought one of the prefab enclosures made to fit the trunk of the g35 that they sell on ebay. The problem... Box for 2 10" subs was only .8 cubes gross. He was looking at a few different subs, mainly JL, and was settling on the W3's. I happened to stumble across a great deal on RE SR10's and he ordered them, the nice thing about them is that they can play better than most given limited airspace. Even though the box is a lil tight, they don't seemed choked for air on the lows which i envisioned the w3's to be. Threw in a bit of polyfill to pick up some of the slack there. After woofer dis…

I was searching the topics around here looking for glassing the interior of a sub box, and didn't find too much. My question is. My sub calls for 1 inch MDF but my installer says he will use 3/4 and glass the inside to "keep the weight down". Do I have anything to worry about as far as flexing and structual integrity? I want to do a sealed enclosure about 1.6cu.ft. Are there any other suggestins for a sealed box? I want to do it right the first time as my funds are a lil limited. Hey thanx guys!!

i am new to building boxes and would like to know, about how accurate is the re box tool? I made a pretty nice little box tuned to 35 HZ and have no clue how accurate this tool is, so it would be good to know beforehand. thanks

so yesterday, we were chillin, and my buddy spits out, hey i think, wait- i KNOW i want two type x's in my car, when i get the new trans. i said, should be good. now. this is the funny part. he went to walmart to see what they had, in terms of two temporary 12's(something ot listen to while he is fixing up the car) he picked up two pioneer's. only 150 rms each, and only being fed 100 each, they are easily as loud as my other friends two MTX 4500 12's off of 1000w. these pioneers are in a prefab, the MTX are in a custom. can anyone explain this to me? i know there are factors like the shape of the car, but jeez!

well i found a couple different trucks around here, and i found one that i really like. its a 1989 s-10 standard cab, 4cyl, 5spd. i think there was one little ding on the hood, clear coat was faded off, but the actual color is for the most part uniform all around. its got a topper on it, vinyl bench seat that from when i looked at it, didnt look ripped or anything, dash i didnt see cracks or anything from heat. he's asking $800 but i have $700 cash to offer him, im waiting for him to call me since he's been busy since i drove it (didnt offer him anything yet but he said he wont sell the truck since i want it) its a very nice truck for an 89, drives nice (no power steering…

I am in the process of putting together a system for my crossfire. I went to a local car audio store today, and looked at a couple of things. A ported box for one 12, $80. 1 JL12w6, right under $400. And a JL HD750/1 amp $750. Do these prices seem right? I haven't looked at stero stuff lately. Anybody running this setup? What should I expect out of this setup? I am used to 2 hollywood 12's with green foam surround(circa 1995) and a bazooka 700w amp. It seems like alot of money, but I want to do it right the first time. I am looking at this setup due to space restrictions, and custom enclosures aren't in the budget right now. Thanks, chris

Ok, I pretty much know nothing when it comes to car audio. I had a little ford ranger which died on me, so instead of staying in that realm i went out a got me a bigger truck. i think i am gonna do a blowthrough in this truck. I am not sure what would be best though. I listen to everything, about 50 50 rap/rock. I am not sure what would work best, something like 4 12" Q's sealed or 2 15" BLs ported.
