Currently I have one 15" XCON in a ported box powered by a DC Audio 5K at 2 ohms (2300 watts nominal). I built the box with .75" birch and double walled the whole box. I am thinking about getting the new IA Death Penalty and stepping down to a 12" sub. My question is, do you think I should build a double walled box for the 12" DP on a DC 5K at 2 ohms? I don't really want to mess around with dowels for bracing and fiberglass to hold them in. And the XCON is great, I love it, but I have wanted a Death Penalty for a long time and need to step down in size so I can get some trunk room back for an air tank and compressors.

Does any one of the manufactures have a 'official' youtube channel, Sundown, DC, Fi, Kicker, etc? If so whats the channel name, and if not I think it'll be a great idea. Since a huge following is on the net and such. I mean you could do burps, walk out how to tune stuff, show new products and everything else. It'll be cool to watch, and also keep me entertained at work (Im a civil drafter, it gets boring after a while....lol ). Just a thought. Enellz

  4. Im currently running an icon 12 in a 2 cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 32 hz on a sundown sae 1200 v2 @ 1 ohm. I had a pair of fi ssds (d1s) before this, but i only ran one. when i bought the icon, i sold my friend one of the ssds and planned to throw the other in my gfs car but i never got around to it. well my friend has had the ssd for almost 2 maybe 3 months ago (has not used it) and text me the other day and asked if i knew anyone that would want to buy it ($100...i sold it to him for 125). so im kind of thinking about buying it back. the amp i have for my gfs car is a rd 1000 v1 amp (ik not the most favorable company, but ive had the amp for 5ish years and not a pro…

Due to my inability to use the SSA search feature (i'm guessing it's the school computers) could anyone either post a link to another thread, or a simple diagram on how to do so? *the tech guy at our school screwed up yesterday and programmed all sites not relating to school stuff (search engines too, once an non related search was given) to be locked automatically . it turned out his parameters were much too vague . He is untangling it now, or i woulda used google.

I have been too scared to even start on removing my door panels to complete my install and put in some mid bass drivers / tweets. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with 07 / 08 tahoes / avalanches and knew the right way to take the door panels / pillars out without breaking anything. After searching around for a while I couldn't find anything. I really don't want to mess it up too much.... it's basically brand new. (like 18's won't vibrate it apart anyway)..... Any help would be appreciated.

  9. I have a 2006 Mazda3 and a Kenwood DDX470 headunit. I also have Infinity 6829CF door speakers in my front doors, with stock speakers in the rear. Lastly, I have a Hifonics Brutus 1600.1D amplifier powering two Kicker CVX 10's at 1,200RMS @ 2Ohms. My problem is when I crank up my music, car on or off (but more so when the car is off), the radio will sometimes turn off and restart. My radio goes up to 35 on the volume wheel, with 32 being my self set distortion limit. I'm not sure it's really the song that matters, but I can crank up a song with a lot of bass to 32, and after beating away for 10 seconds or sometimes even less, the radio will just restart and then work nor…

What would you guys do to get more bass to hit inside your vehicle (cars only). I thought about drilling a hole between my 6x9's and have the port shooting between them.

About 20 Min. ago i was reading a topic that someone had posted. I had to turn off the computer but i wanted to save the topic so that i could read it later. I Clicked the "watch topic" button and i thought i would be able to go under my profile and look at the watched topics or something like that but im not able to find anything that has that. Is there anyway for me to see the topics that i am watching? If not the topic was about howa guy called a local car audio shop to mess around with them and see what they really knew about car audio. And when he stated that he was running 3000 Watts RMS he said his lights were dimming. What could he do about that The Car audio deal…

It will actually be a pair of subs. Single cab pick up truck with limited space behind the seat. Looking for a nice little sub that can get loud. Power will come from the sub channel of my GS Redline 3 channel amp. BS rated at 1,000 watts for the sub channel into one ohm. It is currently pushing a pair of 12" IA Lethal Injections quite nicely ran at 2 ohms, so any of the subs on this list will work. Alpine Type R $120 Arc 8V3 $150 Image Dynamics ID8 $100 Incriminator I Series $95 JBL GTO $80 Memphis $120 Dayton HF $105 Dayton HO $115 I am ok with the prices of all these subs. Any pair of these can be wired to show my amp either 2 or 1 ohm, I am not too worried with the …

I’m probably going to be flamed for this but where would I learn how to build my own drivers like SSA and Sundown do? Do they manufacture the surrounds, cone etc themselves or do they outsource most of the parts and assemble them before selling them? I really want to start my own business someday and car audio is my passion and I would LOVE to learn all I can.

Hey guys, just recently bought a 2 channel and am now wiring or trying to wire it. i have come to the point of putting the speaker wire to the speakers. but i have come across a little issue. you see all the previous wiring is connected to the driver and passenger door by a single clip. there is no other opening in the door. and theres no room to slide my speaker wire in there. so how do i get the new wire into the door? the only way i see is to drill a couple holes. what do u guys usualy do?

I have this picture that someone suggested i use for my chit, but my sub doesn't hit hardly with these settings Something else i don't get is, the screw is one long line and one shorter line, which is suppose to line up with these arrows?
