My Pioneer 690ub powers on, I can flip through the menus, and set everything. But, I don't have sound from any of my speakers. I tried them on a stock radio, so they aren't blown. so I'm thinking it's the head unit speaker outputs. If my head unit outputs are blown, can I still hook up a 2-channel amp to my front 6.5's? Or do I have to replace my whole head unit? Trying to get my sounds right before I upgrade, so I can Any help is appreciated.

I searched a couple of weeks back for a converter that would allow me to put 6.5 inch midbass drivers in the doors of a tahoe and was able to find it. Now I am ready to purchase them, and I can't find them anywhere. I found them on ebay, but after hours of searching I can not find it. The speakers in the door are built into a plastic type converter so they can fit into the hole. I just need aftermarket ones so that I can install a standard 6.5 inch speaker into the door without any modification to the door itself. Thank you.

I'm looking to get terminal rings for when I do the big 3. Where do you guys find ones big enough to go over the battery terminal for 1/0 cable? Is it worth getting one of those fancy battery terminals that can accept two runs of wire? Where would be a good place to find those. This thread can also be used to post websites etc. of where you get your nuts bolts and goodies from. Thanks, Jeremy

I kind of asked about this in my thread about my box, but didn't get any replies, so I figured I'd start a new thread. I know that using bus bars works. I'm mainly planning on doing it since I'm running 1/0 and I need something smaller for my amps, and there aren't a ton of distribution blocks that will work for that, and the bars will be cheaper, free really... I've got an old 300 amp panel in my barn that I got off a job a couple years ago. I'm planning to hack out the bus bars from it, run my 1/0 from batteries to it, and tie my amps into it also. I might plasti-dip the positive to prevent arcing. I'm also thinking about mounting them to my box. Opinions or recommenda…

Well it was extremely exciting and a great experience...... my first time ever on the meter. I was in SB4... First run got 141.~ because of a bad song choice Second run had a 145.~ after 16 seconds, then there was about a 3 second pause in the bass... bringing me to a final score of 142.~ My mind was on everything except for my camera.... So sorry, no pictures. If you become a member and run can't you find your score online somehow? Thanks everyone at SSA, ya'll are the reason I have such a bangin setup I would have went for another try with Throw It Up by Lil Jon (which has NO pauses), but I had already established a benchmark for me to beat next year. I also sa…

  11. Hi all, A friend of mine wants a system for his class c Mercedes. He used to have some kind of spl system his cars, but wants now something small. He will buy a good Alpine head unit and a set of Focal comps for the front(without amp). He like the Icon but need something smaller, 300-600 watts rms. My first option would be a 10" Dcon sub and a small 2 channel amp(maybe a Sundown). Will that be enough for his trunk? will he be able to hear it in the car? The trunk is quite big, and seems to have no ski hole. What are the other options ? He would like to keep the budget as low as possible, but he is not broke, at all !!! To give a budget, hummmmmm : 300 to 400 $ max (witho…

Hmm....after posting this I realized that my topic description sounds like a pirate. But, anyways.....help me decide what to do with my stereo...LOL. I can't decide if I want go with an active 3-way DIY frontstage consisting of Coustic Design Reference & Vifa speakers, or go simple with a pair of Memphis Sync8's On the one hand, I really like the sound of my DR 7's when I was running them with my horns. But, likewise, the Sync8's are responsible for many World Championships in SQ comps, and I do really like the sound of audiolife's Sync 5.25's. Plus the installation and setup with the Sync's would be much easier and simpler and would allow me to use my external d…

I want to set up my new, (refurbished actually but it's new to me) Sundown SAZ-1000D right, so I need some legit test tones. First question: What tones do I need? I know I'm looking for a 50Hz tone to set the gain, but is that a "50Hz sine wave" or "50Hz mono-tone"? I've seen both, so I'm confused. Square waves? Sine waves? I have a very loose grasp on these things, but I think that a square wave=clipping and a sine wave shows the maximum gain setting before clipping... I'm so confused... What other tones do I need, if any? Second question: On that pinned thread on how to set your gains under amp/head units main section, it gives two links for tones to download, a…

Why does one need two RCA cables (i.e. red and white) to plug into a mono channel subwoofer amplifier? It seems to play just fine with only one "channel" plugged in... Why is the subwoofer output "left and right"? Thanks for answering my stupid question.

have a jl 6 channel amp And cdt audio 6.5 components. the right front speaker sounds fine. the left front is very quiet and when the input level is turned up is stays quiet and gets distorted. i have changed all the wires. Interchanged the cross overs. I have tried every channel on my amp. i have even tried changing speakers and the same results. I don't think there is any thing else that could be the problem. Every thing else works fine. If you hook up the speaker directly to the amp it is fine. But with the crossover it does not. When you first hook up the speaker it gives a little loud burst of noise and then gets quiet again. I don't understand it. Can anyone give me …
