Hey guys. Im in the process of upgrading my system in a 2002 Ford expedition w/o the third row seat. I'm using Diamond audio d6 components in the front door speakers and d6 coaxials in the rear powered by a Diamond Audio d3 500.4, two diamond audio 15" d3's powered by a Mmat d2000.1, I listen to rap, r&b, techno/electronica, rock, kompa, and reggae, So I guess you can say I'm an sq guy. I'm buyin four Ascendant Audio Havocs 15's and two Mmats 3500., So my question is I would like to know whats the Ideal enclosure specs for the woofers in an expedition for great sq. I want a ported box, So if anyone have any ideas or can answer my question I would greatly appreciate i…

Well I purchased 2 IA LI 15's and want to build a box 8 cubes after displacemnt. I'm wanting to use the psp ports to tune it to 32hz. My question is can I use 4-4" ports and have enough port area? Psp's calculator says 14.61" in length for my desired tuning but a local shop told me do 6" ports. Which is going to work better? ------this is going in my 07 Ford Escape with usable dim. of 40wx22dx22h

I went to my first car audio competition over the past weekend. I finished first in my division ( amatuer). It was a neat experience. I scored well for my first show and met some really cool people. I got some help from a world champ sound quality guy. He brought out an RTA, we talked and tuned for about 2 hours before I got judged. Learned alot just in the short amount of time. Was all in all great time. Also wanted to thank M5 for his input and sharing knowledge. Cant wait till the next show, I can attend. This may be the start of a real addiction LOL!!!

Are there any tweeters that have a flush mounting diameter equal to or less than 1.25 inches(31.75 mm) ? The smallest I've found were the JL VR075-CT that were 1.50 inches.

  5. This is the follow up to my last thread that got a bit jumbled and confusing. I decided it was the best plan to go active for my 1991 S10 single cab install as M5 suggested. I went ahead with the purchase of a Memphis X03 crossover, the Mli-65 mids, and the North D25 tweeters. I now have all the parts on hand and from the look and feel of everything I'm VERY happy with the components. The crossover though made in china is good and heavy, the only complaint I have on it is there are only 2 markins on each frequency knobs. The MLi-65 are SUPERBLY built, the grilles are very sturdy, the baskets are cast, the cones are thick pulp, and the surrounds are rubber. I really …

  6. Looking on advice as to what to look at first for this issue.. Basically out of nowhere I have no sub output or midbass output. ED components on a nine.4 and ED sub on a nine.2.... Not sure why I'd lose midbass and sub output and yet the tweeters are fine... Any suggestions on where to start looking?

I would like to build a ported enclosure for a single 12. I'm ok with building it but I'm not to positive on figuring port displacement and tuning and I figured someone here could probably help. I want the box to be 2 cu ft after port and sub displacement tuned to 32-33 hz, double baffle, sub and port firing at the trunk. I want to have quite a bit of trunk space with the box and amp in there. I measured what space I'd like to utilize and came up with 16-17" tall(preferably 16) x 24-26" wide x 16-17" deep, is that big enough for size box I'm wanting? For anyone curious I plan to run either an icon or a ssd off my sae 1200. I'm going to use one of my Orion xtr pros until …

Hi guys, I'm new at this. Not really sure how to post. But here goes. I am planning to to connect up 2 amps. A 300w mono amp to 10inch Sub & a 4ch 640w(max out put) to 2 front splits and 2 rear speakers. I am gonna run a 4 gauge from battery to a distribution block and then run 2x 8 guage to the amps. am i using the right gauges? i was also thinking of running a 1 farad cap from the distribution block aswell. My plan is 3x 8guage from distribution block. 2 to the amps and 1 to the cap, is this the right way to wire it up?Also my friend told me that it is not necessary to pre charge the cap. Is this true? Coz i have read some forums and they say to charge it prior to …

  21. After what seems like forever, I finally got my box finished today, and got my BTL in my truck and hooked up. I've never heard bass like this before! This thing f***ing POUNDS! I've still not put in my upgraded alternator yet, but the T-1500 seems to be doing fine so far.

My Pioneer 690ub powers on, I can flip through the menus, and set everything. But, I don't have sound from any of my speakers. I tried them on a stock radio, so they aren't blown. so I'm thinking it's the head unit speaker outputs. If my head unit outputs are blown, can I still hook up a 2-channel amp to my front 6.5's? Or do I have to replace my whole head unit? Trying to get my sounds right before I upgrade, so I can Any help is appreciated.

I searched a couple of weeks back for a converter that would allow me to put 6.5 inch midbass drivers in the doors of a tahoe and was able to find it. Now I am ready to purchase them, and I can't find them anywhere. I found them on ebay, but after hours of searching I can not find it. The speakers in the door are built into a plastic type converter so they can fit into the hole. I just need aftermarket ones so that I can install a standard 6.5 inch speaker into the door without any modification to the door itself. Thank you.
