When i calculate it, i get 18.5" total port length, but when the RE Enclosure calculator does it, it gets 19.625. It can't get the double baffle, so shouldn't the RE calculator come up with 17.75" of port length? I just want to make sure that i'm right or that i'm wrong, 'cause i dont see how it could be that far off.

I'm just wondering where you guys get your speaker box carpet from.

Hey everyone, This is my first post here on SSA! I've recently purchased a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE ( and am looking to build a nice system for it. Keep in mind that I'm a college student and do not have too much money. Basic idea is, the less money I spend the better. Well I had my first spl reading ever and was fairly happy. My system consists of 4 RE8's in a sealed enclosure that is way to small approximately 1.9 cubic ft total with an OLD RF 800.2. This set up is in my 95 impala ss. Well for my first system I was happy with my 131.8. I have a pic but I am a retard when it comes to posting pics. I was kind of wondering if I was pretty much on par for this setup or am I off a little.

Well I am slowly trying to improve the sound in my 2001 bmw 325i and I think I know the answer but I'm not completely sure. Currently I only have one amp which is powering my subs and then there is the factory amp thats connected to all the factory locations. Since my battery is in the trunk I have a big fuse holder about 1ft away from the battery then it runs to the amp. Today I should be getting some of those PG rds components and when I finally by some sound deadening I will be installing a 4ch amp to run those speakers. OK as some know i got a 2000 maxima i just got rid of one hu and got another and still haveing whing noise issues so its time to make away with the whole boss system and add a amp to my mids and highs.Hopefully this will stop the noise.My car had gotten broken in to and i they got me good ( happend 2 days ago) here are some pics of my old set up. front batt Back Batt 2 15's american bass now to redo it all im thinking about gettin rid of those ugly super start batt and adding 2 kinetik just the issue im having is which one? and as far as subs go? there are no name brand out here they got stuff like lanzar and pyle :| so im stuck on wat subs to use?

I was wondering if anyone knew who if anyone made a recone kit for the JL 12w3. I think its probably a v1 or v2 but its dvc. the cone has come separated from the surround lol. And one of my employees wants to make a frankenstein so i figured i'd see if anyone knew of a recone kit for it. thnx

which one do you think would be better? the hc 2400 or the d3100 i would think the power master since there a little cheaper and rated to put out more amps but i just want to get some other peoples opinion.

Recently i've only been able to play my mids and highs... whenever i turn on the sub my mids and highs will turn off and all u here is very distorted bass from the subwoofer. Now at first i thought it was a ground issue but i checked all of the grounds and they seem to be alright

Everytime i shut the car off while the radio is on i get a big BOOM sound outta my subs i check the ground and its not it i added another battery thinkin that was gonna stop the BOOM made it worst i dont know what is going on my best bet is thats it the HU i have a EQ hook up as well and wen i turn on the car the EQ lights up 1st then the radio take a good 2 min to get going could it be that i wired somethin up wrong and its causeing a big boom sound?

Yeah i thought that'd get some attention. I've got a freind that has 2 12" MA Hardkore (actually not as bad as i thought theyd be), and he has a Boss 3000 watt amp powering them. I smirked a little when i saw the amp he had on them, and it got me curious, what do you guys think/know the actual rms on this thing is? And how does boss even get away with overrating them so d4mn much? The title is a joke, and only intended to get some attention and maybe get a few people frustrated.

I need to replace the Alternator on my Sebring. Does anyone kow of any good companies to use.. I've contacted LOAD BOSS, they only sell 1 and its only 165 Amps. Excessive Amperage, I cannot get ahold of... & Dom Iraggi I have not heard a ton of good things about. Do you have any other suggestions? Would Powermaster Alts be a good place to look? Theres been many topics like this before on forums, people wanting comments and suggestions. It always comes back to what that person wants/likes. Ive got a system setup in mind and obivously am looking for things i should look out for, considering im quite new with sundown amps...any questions/concerns/coments/suggestions all welcome, but as i said i would like to stick with this setup. Got my amp and sub hooked up, started bumping some music then it cut off. I went back to check out what was going and and saw that a razor blade had fallen across the speaker terminals on the amp. Now the amp wont power up.
