So last summer I was on an unknown mic at a local audio shop and hit 148.2 with my 15" Fi Q on 1500 watts. I knew that was way too high so I had always been curious what id get on the TL. Today I found out that number is a 142.26 in the dash with driver window down, and 140.xx sealed up. I dont think thats too bad considering what my sub has been through... First I blew it so i tore it apart, recoiled it, and patched the spiders Then the magnet cracked/shifted so I shimmed it and epoxied the hell out of it Then the cone blew apart, epoxied once again Ran off a clarion dpx11500 (1500 rms at 1 or 2 ohm) at 1 ohm with the gain about 1/3 up, peaked at 36hz in my 4 cubes …

Alright well to start, I'm an experienced music producer/recording engineer. I'm starting to incorporate my music into my car audio hobby. I've been making a few bass tracks to test out and demo with in my car. My question: What's a good program to use to find peak frequencies in a song? I'm going to start finding this out in my bass songs and posting them up here on the forum for people to use and test out. Also, I'd like some feedback, and maybe videos of people using them.

For a 12'' Zcon in 3 cubes at 32hz. How big does the box need to be gross? I can do 30 wide and 15 high, trying to figure out how deep the box needs to be.

why do some people have a power wire coming off the posative a negative batt terminal

Okay. The box is 4 cubes @ 31-32 Hz for an Fi Q15. The box is strangely shaped because a spare tire is going to be standing up vertically behind the box to the right of the port. This was my plan. I was going to add 2 more vertical 2x4's to the right and left of the sub hole. The baffle, port, and vertical brace are NOT permanent yet. They haven't been attached yet. That's what's permanent. I was told the back wave is going to be fed directly into the port and that usually doesn't work well. Should I change my port? Anything else?

hey guys a friend of mine just bought a 2008 silverado flatbed and he want to put three or four 15's in there...he wanted to know will he have to do a blow through or not

Really haven't been on here much, so i'm even more out of the loop than i was. I planned on waiting till next spring (after cross country and wrestling) to do more with my audio, but i can't wait. To start off, i really don't know a whole lot about speakers or tweeters, but i want something with good quality and good price, and from the looks of it, the Mach5 MLI-65 is great for the money. I'd also need some tweeters, and when i searched, most people recommended SEAs tweeters to compliment the mli. Does that sound good, what model of the tweeters, and are there any other suggestions? I am tryin to build a blow through for my truck. I was wondering that if i build a simple ported box and then cut the hole for the subs and port to come through do i add that in to port calculator ? I thiking seriously about nightshade 18s I was thinking 5 cubes per sub tuned to 35 htz.. Any advice on the best way to go about the blow through

hello everyone, my midrange speakers cut out once in awhile and make a snapping sound, i am running the front stage active , the tweeters sound fine. I'm using an alpine alpine cda-117 cd player and pxa-h100. has anyone ever had that problem? could it be the pxa-h100? thanks Brian

Yes i putting the finishing touches on my system thanks to all of the ssa members my question is this will a eq do any good for my system or is it just a waste of money i need the pros and cons. Also my final question is the pros and cons of not having any rear deck speakers i was to by some members to get rid of them which i did i can tell the difference but is that the right move. Hi guys, I'm new at this. Not really sure how to post. But here goes. I am planning to to connect up 2 amps. A 300w mono amp to 10inch Sub & a 4ch 640w(max out put) to 2 front splits and 2 rear speakers. I am gonna run a 4 gauge from battery to a distribution block and then run 2x 8 guage to the amps. am i using the right gauges? i was also thinking of running a 1 farad cap from the distribution block aswell. My plan is 3x 8guage from distribution block. 2 to the amps and 1 to the cap, is this the right way to wire it up?Also my friend told me that it is not necessary to pre charge the cap. Is this true? Coz i have read some forums and they say to charge it prior to …

i was told there was a video online of an explorer with 4 18s ... i wanted to view this because i drive an aviator which is basically lincoln's version ... i wanted to reference how he made the wall as i plan on building a wall hopefully in mine ... i dont think he did a straight wall because there isnt enough height to stack 2 straight up ... if anyone has any information please let me know thanks

I'm not sure what I'm doing or not doing but this is my problem: I'm running a single Memphis MClass 12" sub in a 1.2cf sealed box that's powered by a USAcoustics2100 (300x1@4ohms/12.9v)in a '93 Altima sedan. My HU is a Pioneer 5500mp w/2v preouts, 2 cheapo (soon to be replaced) Jensen 5x7s in the front doors which are amped by a Hifonics Falcon (90x2 @4ohms). When driving around, w/the gains down on the front speaker amp, my average listening volume is around 20-30 (20 if my wife is with me) out of 62 (car's quiet inside and volume at 30 is plenty sufficient from front speakers). Any louder and the midrange and highs start screaming at me but toning down the mids/high…
