im finnally goin back home friday, and i really need some help finding a place to put in my fi ssd 12s n my saz 1500 please.

So, I've been pondering this a while now... Why is it that the majority of home theater or home stereo drivers are designed for higher nominal resistance? Would the main reason to use 16 or 8ohm loads vs. 4ohm loads be to keep THD ratings down at the amplifier? If so, is this primarily just a result ipso facto of engineer marketing? THD ratings of 0.00000000001 into a 16ohm load sell's $1800 home amplifiers.

My Icon 12" stopped working the other day. I don't think it's blown and the amp still powers on too. Anyways, I bought back my old setup which is the Fi BTL 15 and Cadence ZRS-9. So loud. I need to take down my headliner to sound deaden it. Too many vibrations coming through the roof. Wonder if anyone that's coming down for scrapin' the coast this year would want to help, lol.

everything i'm putting in my car now will be taken out within a year to be put into a new car (crosses fingers) my question is if i put re comps in do would it be worth all the effort. i know it will sound great. but i already know they won't fit in the doors so i'd have to have somthing custom made. if by some miracle i could get them to fit in my car would it be necessary to deaden? car is a 94 pontiac sunbird,,, upgrade car will be 99 eclipse just comps. new battery. another amp. 0awg wire. and big 3 left

I have a 2001 Chevy Astro with 2 18's and I am curious as to how to place the subwoofer box. I have subs up and Port back.... so my question is how far do I have the port end before it hits the loading wall? any and all answers will be greatly appreciated.

I have a 09 silverado crew cab with factory radio and speakers. I don't know if i want to put a box under the rear seats or not but I do want some nice sound and clarity.. what are my options for good mids and highs? As for my budget i don't really have one but I don't want to spend a fortune

I am planning a blowthrough in my gmc truck and I have a question... What shoould I use to deaden the bed? Do I just use the damplifier pro or should I use something similar to spectrum to spray in the bed?

Well, I have finally got a "newer" version of my dream car, a dodge charger. I have no real clue what to do when it comes to audio. I have pretty much always had Best Buy style stuff in my vehicles, last one being 2 RF P3's ported. I want something that will take as little room as possible and still get loud, lookin more at LSQ. I was thinking about doing maybe a 15 or 2 using an IB setup, but have never really seen a IB build and am not sure where to start. I do know that I have to sound deaden the entire trunk. so upcoming in march, i have a build scheduled. my brother will be helping me with the carpentry aspects, i am doing rest of install from what i gathered in the other thread before it was closed, is that my buddy should go with a BL 18 for his 66' impala. already planning on double mids and highs, mids are most likely gonna be mach5 mli's, and tweets are undecided. who is running a BL18? what specs are the box, tuning, volume, etc. any help would be appreciated. i would like to keep this topic on a positive note, no dissing or putting down, i am sure denim is tired of closing threads.

Hi to all, I'm new to the forum and I need info about a new enclosure based on two REaudio sx12 subs, I've thinked about a 4cf tuned to 35hz box 'cause I listen to hipop/rap and r&b kind of music. Can the box be built with mdf light or mdf ultra light material?

Has anyone ever taken out the backseat of a sedan or coupe in order to make space for an enclosure? This is like a mini-wall type enclosure with two 12s or two 15s, most likely the two 12s going directly behind the front seats. I was wondering if it is worth it, i want to optimize output without having the rear seat distorting the sound waves, and the difficulty of fitting a larger size box within the small trunk opening(going inside an infiniti G35 coupe). Would this be a good idea? I have no need for the backseat, so should i just go with it? Any input would be much appreciated.

So I just moved my XCON into the garage yesterday because I was planning on putting them both in tomorrow. This morning while half asleep I bumped my toolbox and a heavy ratchet fell directly onto the dust cap..... After getting the dust cap off I was surprised to see this. So I'm assuming this means that I can still put them both in tomorrow, and just put the cap on when it arrives? (Thanks to Aaron for taking care of me super fast!)

what were some of your Kicker installs??? ZR1000 (x2) Round Solo Baric 15 (x2) probably my most loved install I would love to try one of the brand new L7 in a 10" and push it with a SX1250.1 in a sweet SQ box

I have a 2002 s10 reg cab and i started the box today. It will house a single sound splinter Rl-p 15" sub (hopefully, I think i have it figured where I can do it) if not, then a single 12" Rl-p sub. Either will be run off a JL 500/1. figured out the pix!!!

Hello all. I just finished up my fiberglass box today. I am posting a link to my gallery at ED's galleries. Can someone tell me how to post pics in the thread so I don't have to link to it. This box is about 1.8 or so cubic feet. I measured volume with packing peanuts. So it is not exact. Now I have to move onto my amp rack and then my doors. This fiberglassing thing aint too bad. kinda fun once you figure it out. Anywho, here is the link. Please let me know what you think and any comments. Just sold my Dual 2ohm BTL N2 to my buddy. It was working for a few songs then randomly cut off for a few seconds and then would turn back on for a bit, and this would happen over and over. Didnt really have enough time to diagnose anything last night but I was going to try to find out what was happening today. He has a Kicker ZX1000.1so I wired the sub in series. Weirdest thing is that he said it wasnt happening with his other subs. I was going to check the regular stuff like voltage at the amp and make sure I actually did wire the sub properly but Im not sure why it would be doing this in the first place. He told me the amp stays on so Im lost.

so heres the deal. 2 SSAicon 12's . 2 Phoenix Gold V1502's. i'm not 100% sure but it seems like a 1.5 (i think) 2 12 sealed box. the amount of power the SSA's are amazing. anyways so i have a 98 malibu (folding back seats) right now i have the subs facing the back. i'm sick of having the box sliding around and afraid of damage so i'm going to put some L brackets to brace it. but first should i have the subs facing the back or should they be facing the front?
