  3. Started by MadChargerGuy,

Well, I have finally got a "newer" version of my dream car, a dodge charger. I have no real clue what to do when it comes to audio. I have pretty much always had Best Buy style stuff in my vehicles, last one being 2 RF P3's ported. I want something that will take as little room as possible and still get loud, lookin more at LSQ. I was thinking about doing maybe a 15 or 2 using an IB setup, but have never really seen a IB build and am not sure where to start. I do know that I have to sound deaden the entire trunk. Heads up, more than likely my back seats will always be folded down. Or will I benefit more from a sealed setup. I am not entirely sure. Any help would …

  5. Trying to make a few decisions. First, I have a 2005 Ford 500 SEL Edition, I am trying to decide if I should have my subs facing the trunk, or facing the seating part of the car. Second, anyone out there with XCON's that has had them sealed and ported and could tell me which one they seemed to think is better. I've have them ported, but I am curious to hear what they sound like sealed. Third, If I decide to stay ported, I am going to redo the enclosure for them, but having a hard time deciding what tuning to use, any recommendation? My last enclosure, I can't tell you anything about, seeing as it was junk in my opinion, and the person who built it in my opinion was an idi…

Hi, I was wondering, as the alternator put out there max output on around 1500rpm or something like that, on my car, that has an electronic idle control system, Is there some part or something to raise and keep an certain idle speed by the press of a button or something similar? Thank you.

alrighty, im gonna be making my box soon for my single cab truck. the dementions are (L)36" x (H)27" x (D1)3" x (D2)9". That is cutting it realy close because its 2.291 cubic feet. im going to run 2 kicker 12" compVR's which need 1 cubic foot at a minimum. im making it sealed so i have to make the two chambers, so will that 3/4" wood in between the subs reduce the volume to less than 1 cubic foot?? also, that is going to be right up next to my seat and i can't move it anymore closer (i'll be kissing the wheel) do i have to change the depth so it won't hit my seat???

I need some pointers on how to begin my build. I have a 86 full size short bed chevy truck and there is no way I can get the kind of sound Im looking for with such little space behind the seat. I want to put the subs in the bed with a blow thru into the cab. Im not looking to compete in SPL or anything like that just want the kind of bass Im use to hearing (just sold my magnum and miss it already). Im running an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit and Kicker 3.5, 6.5 in the cab will be adding components soon. The problem Im having is Ive never tried this before and dont know what type of enclosure to use or what subs for that matter. Ive always stuck to mainstream subs like JL, Kic…

  13. Hey guys... so I'm thinking of what kind of vinyl I need to order to cover my door pods, but I don't think I'm going to be about to cover them without cutting the vinyl at least once or twice. My problem is that the speaker baffles stick out at a wide angle, and even with the fleece I had to cut it 2 times to eliminate the huge wrinkle in the back. The part that I plan to cut will not be too visible, it will be the part on the back of the speaker pod facing towards the floor (even with the door open, unless someone gets down there and looks). So my question is to anyone who's tackled something like this can you give some advice? Would I be better off taking these to an …

I'll be powering an sa-15 w/SAX 1200d, and some ID xs-65 w/SAX 100.4 Plan on getting the Kolossus Fleks 0 Gauge Power Amp Kit, some 40ft of 16 guage KarmaSS, 2 Krystal Kable rca's, and a KONfused distributor for about $160, all from knu clearly. I figure 16guage should be good enough for speaker wire What fuse type and amperage is appropriate/recommended to be in the first foot of the battery for my power line? What size fuses should I get in the distro block for each line? I plan on putting both the amps, crossovers and distribution block in the tire well to be covered with a sheet of mdf for a false floor (maybe a plexiglass view window for looks) will it get too warm u…

I think I am giving up on the idea of going active until I become a bit more knowledgeable about the sound I would like and mounting locations that best suit me. So anyway, I am going to purchase a new component set instead. I have a 2004 Tahoe, listen to mostly rock, hip hop, and trance. This is a daily driver and I am going to drop my focus from purely SQ. Instead, I would like to just go loud but at the same time I like quality in my music, low distortion, as well as good imaging and staging. I tend to have others riding with me and since I no longer am going for SQ I was wondering if a rear stage would be acceptable now or if that would still take away from the to…

im going to need one, i want something high quality that will remote start, pop my hatch and be able to signal a pager, or come with one. i want as much pager range as possible. i dont know much about alarms, i had a viper on my old camaro and it was decent but this was 4 years ago. how difficult is it to install, because the shops around here want insane amounts of money, like 600 for an installed alarm. i was thinking i'd spend 150-300 on the alarm and add ons, then spend a few days installing it. anyone know of any forums like this but for alarm information?

The JL 8W1V2's are 4-ohm, and rated at 150w according to JL's site. The 125.2 is rated at ... 125 x 2 RMS @ 4 ohm. I think a 125.2 would be sufficient for a pair, but wanted to ask before buying incase someone knows of a reason why this is not a good idea. Thanks!

This is PG's low pass level controller. Does anybody know if it matters what side of the car I run this down? Should it be kept separate from the power wire like the RCA's or does it not matter? Should I even use it? Does it come in handy or not? Just curious because I need to get this in there soon if I'm gonna use it. Thanks, Jim
