Just was wondering what would I need to set up my system to never drop below 14.1 or the lowest I want it to drop would be 13.1

I have been out of car audio for about 10 years and im trying to figure out what equipment is still hitting hard and whats new lol. Ok Im putting a system in a 07 Nissan Versa (small 4 door Hatch) and need some help. Im looking for a nice SQ system that can get a little loud also, I do not plan on any SPL competition. I need some recommendations on the list below that are undecided. Also any input on the equipment I already own. Are the Polks any good, Lanzars any good?... I have a Ford Ranger Super cab and over the past 5 or 6 years I've owned two Shivas. I have always powered them with the same amp I used for SPL...MTX Thunder 6500D in parallel for a two ohm load (rated on the 'paper' at 402 w/rms at 4ohms and 611 w/rms at 2 ohm).The first one I had in a downfiring box in the center of the extended cab (over the hump). The most current one I had in a really small box (built to take up less room). I never had problems with the downfiring one, even though my little cousin once pushed the dust cap almost completely in...and then I had air leaks so I permanently sealed it in the box...hey, it was already ugly. So woke up this am 4 work to find my back window busted out, tailgate left open... and my subs gone!!!! didn't hear a damn thing... and I'm only 20 feet away or so from my truck. I'm planning on a new sub build anyway.... but damn...WTF? So sick of this crap... So it appears that I have a need for a two way alarm, any suggestions...? local audio place suggested a compustar, and wants 800$ to install it... remote start, glass break, 2nd horn...the works... I don't really care to put it in myself, but I might if it saves me some $, and is not tooo complicated. IDK... really want to catch these little F'rs.....

The saturn shook it self to peices after a short stint of 1 15" RESX with a 2500.1 wired at 4 ohm, had to replace it and am moving my gear over. Need some help from people who own ford explorers or SUV's in general. Alright, i just bought a 2001 ford explorer sport.... For the sub and port directions for some loud loud daily pounding which is the best place to face the subs and the port? I plan on keeping my rear seats, making a 7 cuft box ported to 34HZ for my re SX's. Also the alt is a 130amp factory unit, i have a pair of new batts for the trunk and am runnin a KX2500.1. well it went from never doing to doing it alot i will turn it up so everything is shaking then the subs cut of even when my voltage is still around the 13.6v's its pissing me off i have a 160alt two red tops two AA arsenal 15's and a orion 2500d pushing them could my amp be going bad. I was thinking I need to get bigger gauge wire i have 4 cause thats what the amp can fit. PLEASE PLEASE HELP MAN

i am currently installing a 15 bl loaded with a fosgate t100bd and would like to no where to mount my ground wires such as ground strap from motor batt and amp cause i drive a 2002 nissan sentra gxe and its a unibody where would be a good place to ground to and if it would help i have all the 1/0awg i need any help will be great thanks ooo and would the stock locations work and just go to 1/0awg wiring?

hello all, newbie here with a question. Iam getting ready to build a ported enclosure and before I do I would like to know if there is a perferred placement for the port. is there an advantage to being on the same face as the subs or does it matter where they are placed? thanks in advance for your help

Hey Guys, I'm In Sort Of A Dilemma.. I Just Don't Know If My Sub is blown or if my Enclosure has an air leak or something.. I made a Long TEMPORARY Enclosure for my 2 15' Orion HCCA .. no bracing no fiberglass on the inside and on certain songs it sounds like AIR is leaking or something it just sounds bad....but only on certain songs.. now my concern is are my subs blown or is it the shabby job of an enclosure that i threw together...(and when i say shabby i mean i didnt take the time to seal the inside with fiberglass or etc etc etc)

Do you think that a company should replace a blown woofer when the install used the factory recommended specs for a sealed enclosure size and the recommended power with no clipping??? Just wondering

alright. i have a pair of the old school kicker 15's there in almost perfect cond, i say almost because one of the dust covers is pushed in very little. very little, but there thick dust cover you maybe able to massage it out. there 8 ohm each. i have them in a box and wired for4 ohms at the amp. im not trying to sell them here john so hold on .......... ,my question is... how much do you think there worth o yeah i bought them new in box i had them put away in the dark cool area for years!. the saround is rubber and its not glued its stitch. reason for selling.. i had them for my lil brother... but he bought a mustang and its a no go.

I finally got around to actually designing a ported box for 1 12" Memphis PR. I played around on reaudio.com playing with numbers and made a box to my specs. Hey guys! got another topic about a new set-up idea i'm looking at Current set-up is an 18" BL on a JBL BP1200.1 amplifier Currently though, i'm looking at picking up another BP1200.1 for a total of 2. this means I would start changing around my subs then. Here's where i'll give you the info and you try to help me decide Limitations: Each BP puts out 1200 watts @ 2 ohms. I'll have two of them and they're not strappable so it'll be two subs i'm looking at. I have around 5.8 cubes of space to play with. Ok, so far ive gotten a answer from excessive amperage for my saturn alt. The largest bolt on they can make me will be 200 amps. Will this 200 amp alt be enough for me daily pounding my KX2500.1? Ok, so I've done a lot in car audio, and have used a dmm to set gains before, but it was a cheap one from radio shack and i don't feel it was really worth crap even using. Never blown any speakers, but also know I've never had a perfectly correctly set gain on an amp. I just do it by "feel", "sound" and performance. natural abilities you may say, complete crap you may even say! lol but hey it's worked so far but i'm tired of trusting myself. What oscilloscope has anyone used? know of? how much? where? and what will do the trick/be best for setting gains? Thanks in advance i'm very interested!
