I know there are a ton of choices out there but wondering what everyone is using here. Right now RAAMat looks like the choice for me, followed by Fatmat or Edead. Feel free to post away.

I am currently financially strapped and so i cant spend money on sound deadening products like dynamat and fatmat, second skin etc etc.... anyway i was wondering if there are any other ways to stop the trunk from rattling...... I tightened up all the bolts in the trunk which helped very little but it still helped nonetheless. I noticed under the carpet in my trunk is a layer of stock sound deadening im guessing. It is also surrounding the 6x9's on the rear deck in the car. I have several cars at my house that are out of comission, if that layer of fabric under the carpet is an actual sound deadener, i was wondering would it be possible to somehow jerry-rig a way to stick…

Ok well I have a roll of rammat (60 sq feet) and want to do my trunk as well as the two front doors. I know I will have to use it sparingly so I wanted to get some suggestions on where in the trunk I should put it. Here are some pics of my trunk stripped down. Also should I do where the spare tire goes or should I just put it around that? Entire trunk: Lid: Right side: Left side:

I met a guy at a competition a few days ago that had some sound deadening tape and I was wondering where i could get some. it wasn't like dynatape that's just the aluminum tape but it actually sound deadening properties. I figured it be nice for a few places in my durango where my sound deadener is too think. Any idea where I might be able to find a product like this? I did a google search and all the ones I have found appear to just be aluminum tape. Thanks guys!

Our friend Don Sambrook (goes by Rudy on the forums), who for a number of years has been dedicating his time and effort to a 3rd party resource for sound deadener, has taken all the results from his tests and started his own product line. Sound Deadner Showdown. There is the CLD Tiles, Butyl Rope, Vinyl CCF, and Vinyl barrier. So far the site looks great and has a very simple and straight forward layout. He is currently working on the site right now I believe, so keep your eye out for more updates. Check it out, the prices are very reasonable too.

I just bought a 2007 2dr automatic GTI, Pkg 1 no leather, with sunroof. With todays technology are all Amps the same other than power rating? I listen to a lot of AM talk radio so I still need good AM reception. When I listen to music I listen to all types except RAP, HOUSE, AND INDUSTRIAL, I do listen to: Bluegrass, Jazz, rock, bagpipes, pipe organ, motown, country, new age, punk, classical... I am trying to decide what amps to go with. I think there are some digital like Alpine. Also a/b, d Should I go aftermarket head unit or stay stock and do I loose or gain features on steering wheel or otherwise. I am not interested in motorcycles flying across the display. I w…

In another post you mentioned something about bouncing sound off the windshield is bad. But when I spoke to "a famous sq guy" <--- his name to himself... He said bouncing your tweeters off the front windshield did a bunch of great things. Can u tell me your reasons for it being bad please? Or anyone, I just called him specificly because he mentioned It. (I didn't really listen to his BS when he told me hair tricks are dumb and anything over 1000 watts is a waste, and that subwoofers should only be used 2% of the time during your listening) <---- no subs?! Go listen to an elevator play your favorite songs guy >:-(

Hello guys, i still have my Mazda CX-5 with everything still in, and working ! I am looking for my next car, thinking about an hybrid one, like a Lexus HYBRID suv. Who has ever installed a system in one ? I don't know what those car can handle. I'm sure I must keep the hu, but can I run 2 amplifiers ? I want to keep the same kind of power I have now : one 2000 w bass amp, and 1 or 2 amp(s) for 4 active channels (mids and highs). I'd love some examples. Thanks in advance. Alain

I have always had a decent sound system set up in my vehicle and have been driving for 11 years mostly in the area of Cleveland, OH. We have a high population of white tail, as in many other areas in the Northeast region. Deer have become a nuisance to drivers, as a collision may cause serious damage to your vehicle and possible injury, or death. I always noticed that when I had the woofers turned up at night and exceeding 35 mph, white tail deer reaction to the stimulus of sound was not to fleed, but to remain still on the side of the roadway. I decided to do some research, and possibly try to determine the cause of low and high foreign sounds for a deer to react this wa…

Just finished putting together my DIY home subwoofer. I used a Soundsplinter RL-p15 DVC2 and an Oaudio Bash 500 watt amp...... the box is 4.6 cf gross, 3.2 cf after port/bracing/speaker deductions. The box is made of 1.25" mdf and oak vaneered. The port is 2.25" x 16" and 43" long tuned at ~24hz. Mike at Soundsplinter and Todd at Oaudio are two of the greatest people and are willing to help in anyway possible. Also, I can't say enough good about their products!!! I tested the sub on Pearl Harbor and the Japanese attack scene almost brought down the walls..................

Ok here is where I'm at, I have a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD (2) MB quarts 6 1/2 components (2) MB Quarts 6x9s powered by a Soundstream PSA4.260 and (2) Soundstream RW 12 Subs (600 watts RMS each) Powered by a SoundStream PSA2.760 (760 Watts RMS bridged @ 4 ohms) Wired like so: How ever I was not satisfied. And low and behold, today my PSA2.760 took a dump. I called the company where I purchased it and they said they will send it out to get repaired or I can upgrade it for a small price to a Soundstream PCA-2000D. This amps specs are 4ohms 1100 watts, 2ohms 1500 watts, and 4ohms 2000 watts Bridged. What I wanted to know since this new amp is more powerful should should I add…
