What do I have to consider about the box design and sub placement and bracing to have the ports on the rear of the box? The reason I ask cause subs would be side and there wouldnt be too much room for the ports if they went next to the outsides of the subs in my trunk. Also are there any benefits to a single chamber push pull ported box? Downsides? What if in the same box, the speakers are on opposite planes- one in back, one in front? I cant find ANYTHING like this on this on google and want to know why.

I have a set com Rainbow SLC-265 components and a 15" arsenal. Will these sound balanced in my new '96 jeep Cherokee? I'm worried the sub will be over bearing. Should I just keep the sub lower or get a smaller sub? As long as the components can keep up with the sub that is all I'm worried about. I hate it when I get in someones car and all they upgraded was the sub, and coincidentally that is all I can hear. The sub. boom boom boom thud. How musical......

What's up all, Here's my situation that's kind of annoying. Randomly as Im driving listening to my system which consists of: Head.: Pioneer 7800MP Front: CDT HD-62/DRT26s/EX-560i F.Amp: Arc Audio 2100 CXL Subw.: Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin S.Amp: US Amps XT-800.2 My highs will just cutout. However, they'll come back on if I turn the volume up. The arc 2100 was bought used from ebay, and im thinking that's my culprit. Not too sure. What do you think?

well i just recently moved and had no intrawebz or cable for 3 days and well, i got damn bored. so i put some stuff together that i had laying around and well created me a hybrid perhaps? lol. i had my 04 XXX motor sitting around and well from my previous SX12 i still had the cone/coil assembly just hanging out. so i decided to put them together. the coils still threw a reading from the SX12 and everything was still in tact, the cone, spider. surround. right now it has new leads and spider is being glued to the basket. tomorrow i will take a 2.2cu sealed box i have set for a 15 and mount a new baffle over the original to accomodate the 12. i'm going to also cut 3-4, four …

so i live in the south TEXAS, and i have never taken my audio out in the winter, but a friend of mine is from the north, and he was telling me everyone he knowns in the north takes there subs and amps out of there car and keeps them in tha house, until spring, yall ever heard of that?

I am putting a new system in my girls car and was thinking about using some plexiglass on a sealed system. My question is though, how does this affect the sound? I have seen plenty of systems in magazines using plexiglass but never heard one, does it have an impact on the way it sounds or no.

alrighty, im gonna be making my box soon for my single cab truck. the dementions are (L)36" x (H)27" x (D1)3" x (D2)9". That is cutting it realy close because its 2.291 cubic feet. im going to run 2 kicker 12" compVR's which need 1 cubic foot at a minimum. im making it sealed so i have to make the two chambers, so will that 3/4" wood in between the subs reduce the volume to less than 1 cubic foot?? also, that is going to be right up next to my seat and i can't move it anymore closer (i'll be kissing the wheel) do i have to change the depth so it won't hit my seat???

where can i buy 1/0 welding wire by the foot? im looking to use the flexible stuff for power wire!

I'm not sure about what RCAs to get.. I was planning to get some knu ones and I wasn't sure if the eKs were worth the 80 bucks or would it be better to get the next line down and put that 60 dollars toward something else? By the way, my amp will be a sundown saz 1500D

I have a box design that I got directly from Steven Sears, whom is the Team Captain of Team High X-cursion. He told me he had someone on his team with 3 10s hitting in the 150s the TL in a Grand Am, and yes I have a Grand Am. He is very knowledgable on trunk vehicles. I plan to only use both kicker amplifiers during shows, and one for daily on a 4 ohm load. I will be selling my 2 audioque sd8s, and when my American Bass 120.1 gets back from being serviced it will be for sale as well…

I hope that I am posting this in the right place. I have 2006 Honda Odyssey EX that has the 6 CD changer and XM capable stereo. I have heard that it may be possible to connect a device that will allow me to "hard wire" my iPod, using that XM connection. Can anyone tell me exactly what I would need to make this happen? I am not looking for anything fancy really, just to be able to use my iPod without using an FM transmitter. I don't know jack about car audio, but I have a friend who says he can help me install it once we find the exact right part. Can anyone help me? PK

I only have a 60 amp alt. and i was wonder if it's okay to put a second battery in the back of my car like a kinetik hc 1800, will it be able to charge my stock battery and the second bigger battery in the back? i'm just running 1000w rms. i'm thinking of a second battery because i'm planning to get a new car next year, so a second battery will be easier to transfer to the new car, then a bigger alt.

For your comp sets and or speakers that you have in your doors what gauge of speaker wire do you use and what brand? I was looking at Knukonceptz Karma and Klear wire 12 gauge. Please share what wire you use.

Well, I finally got the last word about my deployment. I ship out right around New Year. Now that I have a time-line I need to get the Neon in saleable shape. I bit the bullet last night an bought the amp. It's an older Kicker KX550.3 3 channel. Fresh refurb. $149 shipped. Now all I need is the sub. Looking for an inexpensive 12 that will work well in a small sealed enclosure and 200@4 or 400@2 for power. The build will take place over the next 3 weeks before I ship out. More sooner than later. I have been looking at 5.1 options. Some questions I have: 1) I would like to be able to control the processor through the HU. I read that the Alpine W205 can control the H701 although it doesn't say that on the website. I had intended to get an AVIC-D3 but that doesn't seem to have any control over the pioneer processor. What are the best options here? 2) Looking around I notice that the 5 channels are always equal power. i plan on relocating my battery to the trunk and adding a second one. couple question: 1)they are wired parallel, correct? 2)do i need a fuse in between the batteries? 3)do i need to fuse the power wire running from the engine bay to the trunk?

These batteries I keep seeing people purchasing and talking about are deep charge batteries, correct? If so, what is the difference between buying one of those verses say, a deep charge mariine battery from Walmart? Thanks, Mark

Ok I just got my order of Knu 0/1 gauge wire in for my Power 1000 install. To make things easier I ordered 0/1 eyelets from Waytekwire.com. When I went to put the 1st eyelet on I could barley get it on the wire! I had seen this in the past with Knu 4 Gauge but this time I had to tap the lug onto the wire with a hammer (Not to crimp it but to get it on the wire it was so tight). I really don't think I will ever have a problem with my crimps seporating from not enough bite! Way to go Knu! If anyone is having second thoughts about ordering from them, order it, you can't go wrong! The wire is awesome!

I am looking at buying a used Arc Audio 4150-CXLR. Anyone know what one of these is worth, I dont want to pay too much. Please help Is $200.00 too much for it.
