Hey everyone. I have two 10" type R's in a ported box being pushed by a sundown saz-1000d. i wanted to do some experimenting by inverting my subs to see if more air space would give me better/bigger sound. only problem is one of them would be hanging right over my saz-1000d. would the magnet on the type r interfere with my amp? I'd hate to lose it to a dumb experiment. I hope i can get an educated answer, but if everyone is uncertain ill just keep away. thankyou much!

so i have decided to go with a setup that would have a set of Rainbow 3-way components up front, which i believe would eliminate my need for rear speakers. so the question at hand is, when i remove the rear speakers would i be better off leaving the speaker holes open or closing them up? the car is a 99 Altima, the rear speakers are 6.5" and the setup in the trunk is a SSA XCON 18 in a 5.4 cu ft sealed enclosure.

Ok, well i am getting my inventory of CDT products on Sept.8th and am looking for a car or two to possibly sponsor/rep. The car(s) would be shown on the webpage of the install and the car itself. Don't need anything too flashy but something more than just stock locations and a MDF(no carpet) box. This isn't a free ride on speakers but i bet you won't complain either on how much you pay. Also for whoever gets picked,if any, will also recieve rep points for those people who are referred to our site. Email me at: [email protected] Please title to email "Rep" or "Sponsor" o yeah, since i don't run a shop installation is up to you but you'll have access to a full li…

I've got a competition tomorrow and had my batteries just arrive this evening. Setup is two hc2400 and two hc600.the question I'm posing is only one run of 0 ga. Enough for just this one time event or just forget about it and spend the day making a second run. I'm powering a sundown 2500. What's your thoughts? It will have the second run done I'm just not sure if only one run will hurt the batteries.

I know some about car audio, mostly from my modding and electrical work, but I'm still confused about a few things...so bear with me. 1. SPL or Daily - we all know there's a difference, what will you be using your system for? - But what EXACTLY does this adhere to? I'd be using my system on a daily basis, not maxed out all the time, but I'm a major basshead, so there will be many occasions where I'll be wanting to tear the chit out of the guy next to me, without putting any stress on my system (subs specifically) whatsoever. So what would be better? SPL or daily? SPL gives you more power and punch correct? While daily gives you lasting performance right? Well I want the p…

Got a few questions about my setup before i order everything so help would be appreciated. In order to prevent further displacement I'm considering adding a baffle to the outside of the enclosure. - Will this be a sufficient amount of support for the sub vs a baffle on the interior? - When using Psp.com's calculator for aeroports it asks to input "Volume of Box in Cubic Feet" is this before or after all displacements? - Can someone provide a link for instructions or a diagram on how i am supposed to wire under hood batter>trunk battery>amps - How should i wire the (2)saz1500's to (2)FI BL Dual 1 looking to get the whole 1500w to each sub individually? - Suggest a b…

Ok guys, I've had a amp now for a few weeks pushing an 18" AA Chaos Sub. The Amp says its 4000 watts but I'm pretty sure it's only pushing about 1000 watts at 2OHMS. It's a no name amp i got from a friend brand new for free, so I figure why not. I've been slamming it hard, but all of a sudden it shut off on me. The name and model Audio Tek AT-4000 The Fuses are all still good, but for the hell of it I put 3x 40amp fuses in that were brand new. No sound still. I unplugged and reconnected all the cables, no sound still. I did a simple shut the car off and on , no sound. I check my Power Fuse Going to the battery, it's good , still no sound. There is a light on the actua…

I installed my big 3 about 2 months ago, and I was in a hurry to get it done. I want to help shield the wires from the heat and possibly change my battery terminal to a ring-style terminal. Will Techflex be enough? Or should I put on some wire loom as well? I'd like to be able to just put on some color matching techflex to my power, ground, and amp cables, but if the AZ heat is going to beat down on those wires this summer, I'll wrap some wire loom around them if need be. What do you guys think? EDIT: KnuKonceptz 0g wiring. According to their website, with the insulation, it's 16mm thick, just over half an inch. Should I go for the 1/2 techflex or the 3/4? Same questi…

ok so i have 2 dc level 4 15" with the level 5 dual 1 ohm coils and they are rated 1500 a piece and im only pushing one hifonics bxi2010d (its max is 2000 at 1 ohm) to them so i know its not nearly enough power that they can handle and i know that the amp prob isn't putting out 2000 at 1 ohm. My question is should i get another hifonics bxi2010d and run one amp to each sub or should i look into something like sundown? like their 3500d or something like that??? thanks in advance for the help??

I have an Ollllld school Audiologic reciever in my PC room / office. This is where I do most of my in home music. Webcast, streaming media, etc... PC Sound card fed into the receiver. I have a pair of Koda 6.5's that are not going into my truck. I also have a set of Orion P6.5's comps that will not go into anything now... eh. I'm thinking that I need to make a couple of small boxes and wire them to this. Kodas - 20-80hz Orion Mids 60-1500hz Orion Tweets 1500hz + I only use that equip as a starting point. Thats what I have at hand ATM. I'd like to try my hand @ this before I go full bore and reaplce my HT setup. Advice? I'm not beyond soldering up my own xovers, nor am I …
