Hey guys! Long time no talk! Just bought a new truck and I'm going nuts listening to the stock system, so some changes are in order! I would like to build a box to put under the back seat where there seems to be a decent amount of room. Thing is I will need shallow mount subs! I was just going to go with the kicker shallow mounts, 2 10's which are less then $90 each but then I came accross the stereo integrity shallow mount which only come in a 12" Pretty sure I will not have a problem building a box to accomodate 2 12's which will have much more bump that I love! They have a dual 4ohm VC's with a 450watt rms rating so I would need an amp that would put out betweeen 8…

Ok i know the kicker amp shouldnt do 1 ohm, but i have been doing some reading and they say it can be ran at 1 ohm. When i say they i mean other users of this amp online. I did hook it up at 1 ohm and it did fine until i turned up the gain and bass boost. But with the cadence amp it runs fine no problems. It doesnt even get hot. So what i would like to know is should i run my kicker at 1 ohm, and play with fire. Or should i play it safe and run the cadence? out of the 2 amps which would give the best sound? and how is cadence as a amp i never had one before?

I currently have an iPhone and eventually I'm going to ditch it for something else. I'm undecided at the moment as to what I want to actually get, but its probably going to be a Samsung or Sony Ericsson music phone. ANYWAYS I have a DEH-P600UB and it has a USB cable, with an iPod cable in-line with it. I hook up my iPhone to the iPod cable and I control all my music from the head unit. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has tried this with a phone other than an iPhone and has been able to control their music through their head unit. I don't want to use the AUX port, I didn't even bother hooking up a cable to it. You all probably know what I mean just from the title but…

Ok i need your guys help im doing a fiberglass box in the back of my car its in the build logs. box will be around 1.7 cubic feet, it will be for a single treo ssi or ssx 10 i will be using areo ports just was wondering what people think i should use for ports like sizes and combonations im thinking 2 3's would work but thats not alot of port area what do you guys think.

I've been using a sub & box combo that I picked up at a local car audio store a few years ago to get me by and have recently begun thinking about upgrading. So I've been reading up and just trying to educate myself on the matter and tonight I went out to try and calculate the box volume and tune of the ports. Just wondered if I figured this out right. so i finally decided the Q isn't quiet enough for me now a days. i need something bigger. so i just have some questions for you guys.. right now i have a 12" Q powered by a SAE 1000D. i am debating whether to get 1 15" or 2 12"s. i'm looking for which ever has the better output. now obviously the best out put would be out of two 12"s. but money is pretty tight, and i don't want to upgrade all my electrical if i don't have too. i was thinking about just getting 1 12" for now, selling my Q, and running 1 12" off my SAE. how will that sound? will ~1200w make the BTL happy? Hello all. So I just sold a sub for the first time and I need to ship it safely. Its a 10" Icon and I still have the original box that it came in, I also still have the 4 pieces of foam that were used to keep the sub from moving during shipping. My question is, how do I reattach those pieces of foam safely and securely? I am worried that just gluing them back in place is just not a good solution, I feel that they would come loose too easily. My other thought is to cut out pieces of cardboard/foam the size of the box and stack them until it secures the sub in place. I am worried if I use cardboard there is potential to damage the surround. So any ideas, suggestions o…

Has anyone had problems getting their orders from fi? I ordered two ssd's on the 10th and they initiated shipping process on the 15th, but has never sent it out. Just wondering if that's typical or not. Anybody with fi experience please let me know.

Im having an issue with my mids and highs cutting out when turned up to higher volumes. I dont know if its a problem with the install or a problem with the equipment it self. But I do know that it should be able to be louder than what it is without cutting out. I got Rockford t2s and a Rockford t400.4 any advice?

I really have no idea what I'm looking for, but definitely would prefer something more budget-oriented as I don't have a lot of money right now and need to get my car back in working order. Got stuck with another moonroof when I got my new truck(2001 blazer) wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the roof after having bass for awhile, ie not opening/ closing or no longer making a seal? I had one in my old car and it wasn't the same when I got rid of it as when I got it but figured that's jsut because it was a piece of chit Saturn.

whats the best way to do this? run an isolator or not? I was told by a stereo repair man its best not to run an isolator, just make a run of pos. and ground it, that way both batteries are constantly charging and avail. for current draw from the amps. I'm not well versed in this area... help.

I have A 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee I hooked up a head unit I get sound from it from all the doors and hooked up a amp I thought properly but I was sounding nice the first day then the next mourning I turned it on and I didnt hear any subwoofers the speakers are good I hooked them up to a different system and they worked .I'm so confused I wonder if I have some door speakers crossed and thats stoping it I hooked up at least twelve amps and changed everything that I can change and still no sound ????The only other thing that I can think off to get sound is to hook up a RCA inverter well thats what i think well what do you all think? please help

I am making this request on behalf of a customer. He is presently serving in Iraq and under normal circumstances I would ask the customer to provide the measurements of the trunk. The vehicle is a 2002 monte carlo and I am requesting/asking for is the Width, Height and Depth in order to design enclosure to what is recommended or the customers requirements.
