I was wondering if i should do another run of wire from the alt to the bat? This is for my second alt to the batteries in the trunk. Right now i have a single T30001bd amp and a single run of 2/0 and i was looking at getting a second T30001bd amp. If i go ahead and get the second amp should i do a second run of wire?

I need a new alt cause im about to put 2k rms in my car. Already found one from excessive- 200A. Did the math for the amps, should be good. He includes diff. guages of wire, I knew I would need that but what guage? 2? He says that it should bolt right on, but is there anything else I need? What about fuses and their ratings? Since this isnt in my area im just going to have my mechanic put it in but I want all the parts ready to go cause I dont think his parts are as cheap as excessive's...

Is there a way, such as a calculation, or some type of rule of thumb to determine what alternator, as well as how many batteries it will take to run a certain system? Are there any guidelines to determine these values? For example, lets say i have a 5000 watt system, can i plug that into an equation, or some sort of outline to determine what size alternator i would need, and how many batteries i would need? or if i wanted an 8000watt system, same thing.... Is there a rule, like for every 1000watts you need a certain amount of amps within a battery? I am not trying to figure anything out for myself, I am just askin for basic knowledge to see if there is an easy way to d…

Ok, so far ive gotten a answer from excessive amperage for my saturn alt. The largest bolt on they can make me will be 200 amps. Will this 200 amp alt be enough for me daily pounding my KX2500.1? I need to know soon so i can go ahead and make a choice. How is excessive amperages quality? Thanks in advance! Chris McDonald

My question is what size alternator do you think would efficient. Im struggling finding any good info on high output alternators. I plan to big 3 and maybe get a second battery depending on if i need one. Oh ya the car is a 2002 accord. 2.3l

Hi- I have been using a ZCON 18" for about a year now and I love it. It's powered on an IA 40.1. I have an XS D3400 & XS XP3000 for a battery set up, and the stock 120 amp alternator. I've gotten it down so that the sub won't heat up during normal use and it's fairly loud. It get's a bit louder when I can crank it up but it also heats right up since my electrical begins to sag. I am working at a decently paying job for the summer and have decided I can either buy an additional ZCON 18" and making a new box or get a 300 amp singer alternator. I can only do one upgrade at this time, though both is obviously best. What would you guys think would be more beneficial (l…

I will be getting an Fi BTL 18" fully loaded sub and a saz1500d sundown amp. But in the future I hope to get another Fi BTL 18" and of course another amp. My question is, what should the size of my alternator be? Would 140 amps be ok? Or would I need more? Kyle

when designing a setup, when is it required to have more than 1 battery in the vehicle? If you have an alt capable of supplying the entire demand of current, let's say for a sundown 3000d, would you not need any extra batteries? Extra batteries are more like a voltage stabilizer while the vehicle is running, correct?

Hi all- I have been battling with alternator whine for a majority of my car audio hobby. I have tried countless things. I had just made an LC filter to filter out noise in the power line of my radio thinking it was finally it, but unfortuately it remained. Then it dawned on me, I have 2 amps for speakers in my car now and I tried disconnecting the one I've had for years. The noise went away, which is great to finally know what is causing it. The problem is I don't have the cash to buy a new amp for my midbass. Does anyone have any idea where to start troubleshooting inside the amp for something like this? I'm a fourth year electrical engineering student, so I'm quite …

I'm going to be pushing 3300 rms in a 5.3l 2002 Chevy Avalanche. I've heard all the great reviews on Mechmans products but its a bit pricey. What h.o Alternator and battery do u guys recommend that won't break the bank. The system is only gonna be a daily driver.

Hey everyone. I was hoping I could get some input. I am selling my current sub and enclosure on Craigslist locally, not on here. But im not sure if I am asking the right price. I'm selling my Sundown e-12 d4 and the custom designed/built enclosure. I'm asking 140. is this too much? Thanks for any opinions!

  19. Ive got an alpine mrp m350 amp that does 350 watts @ 2 ohm and a 4 ohm dvc ssa dcon 10". Im trying to run the sub at around 300-350 watts in parallel at 2 ohms. I want to accurately set my gain and found the equation that you are suppossed to use to find the optimal volts. Voltage = sqrt(rms x impedence) So is this what i would do for my 4 ohm dvc woofer? Voltage = sqrt(300x4ohm) Voltage = sqrt(1,200) Voltage = 35 Or is it this since im running the amp at 2 ohm to a 4 ohm dvc woofer Voltage = sqrt(300x2 ohm) Voltage = sqrt(600) Voltage = 24.5

Im running my 2 channel planet audio anarchy 2600.2 amp with 2 pioneer 4 ohm dual voice coil subs TS-3002d4. The subs are wired to 1 ohm and im not sure what the amp reads it as when bridged. I wanna know if i should change the wiring of the subs or if i am safe the way it is. Safe meaning that i will not blow my amp. The amp's gain isnt up too much and the bass knob is about half. The subs sound really good when i play them but i just want to be sure i will not fry the amp. Any suggestions?
