First let me start by saying...im only 16 and this will be going in my first car! I was super confused on what sub setup to go with...so i will be going with a single 12 ported tuned to 30hz...which is pretty low in my opinion. The two subs i have in mind are the SSA Icon and the FI Q. The Q box would be 2.5 cu ft. net, the ICON box would be 2.25 cu ft. net. I feel as though these subs will give me excelent SQ with an ability to jus flat out wang from time to time. My car is a 1977 Buick Regal. As of right now the front doors have severe leakage problems...especially the front passenger door. Because of this problem...i was thinking about running a rear fill. Probably a …

I need to test my old bd1000.1 but need to figure out what speaker wire is what to hook up to my line output converter. Nothing is marked in any way besides color. This is for a 06 impala without bose.all the power and everything is hooked up. Just waiting to test the rcas. The left rear speaker has brown and yellow and the right rear speaker has blue and light blue. Any ideas one which is positive and negative? I need to find out if this amp works or I'm gonna but a new one ASAP.

I just ordered a Fosgate T20001BD, 2 Fi Q 12's w/ Bp Power option, I have a JL 450/4 which will power a set of 6.5" Focal Utopias and a set of 6.5" Focal Polyglass. As of now I have the stock alternator (2006 RSX) which is small..not sure exactly what it is. I have a regular batt in the front which has 2 4gauge wires runnin to the back. There's a 100amp fuse on each 4 gauge. These two 4 gauges run to a Optima Yellow Top in the back the car. This is where the two amps will be. Does the wiring seem sufficient for what will be in the car? And the fuses?...I may need to get a high output alt. for the car kuz of dimming...

car is a 1988 toyota camry deluxe 4wd sedan. all factory. double din h/u, 4" fronts, 5.25" rears. here are the wants.. single din h/u 4" two ways 5.25" two ways budget for everything, including dash kit/harness is right around $300-$350. would like a h/u with sub control for later and a dedicated sub preout at the bare minimum. all stuff can be used and if it's something personal, i even have some stuff to trade to help. i have a mach5 12, or a la x2 12, or a rl-i8 or a rl-p12 or a pair of clarion 8's for subs, but that will come later. right now, just the basics. i'm asking you guys to help because i really don't have the time to dig around the net to find the best deal.…

Ok, so I have a dual 1 Fi BL 15'' in a ported box tuned @ 34 hz. Running it off of a kicker zx1500.1 w/ the gain set a little over half. And a cheap sony deck. I have been running it for about 3 or 4 weeks now and its sounded great! but last night when i turned it on, i was bumpin through town, and it was hitting good, and then i turned it down to say something to my friend, and when i turned it back up, it hit about once and then just stopped...no smoke, no burning nothing. just stopped. i figured one of my connections came out, but i checked all of em and they're good. My amp is still good and all my fuses are good. but it still won't hit! i even took it out of the box …

This is going to go in a 07 or 08 dodge charger cause i have to ditch my beloved truck. So far i plan i running 3 10" Q's in the trunk in a IB setup. That is about as far as I have gotten cause I have no experience at all when it comes to setting up speakers for mids and highs. Before I would just throw 6x8's in and go, want to do it right this time. Music wise, I listen to, literally, everything. I really enjoy listening to heavy metal, techno, and rap probably the most though. I just want some really good clean sounding speakers cause my current setup, everything seems muddy to me, almost distorted. Back to point, can someone point me in the direction of where to…

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=11261 here is the OP from this link. I posted it in the Fi section but there is more traffic here so I reposted. I'm a couple days away from buying two SS XXX 15s. I intend to run two Autotek MM4000.1Ds to them in about 8 cubes at 30 Hz. This is in the back of an 04 TrailBlazer subs up port back. While I am certain this will get loud I am finding myself leaning towards the fully loaded BTL 15s. The Autoteks would be too much power for the BTLs but let's say you had the option. The SS XXX setup with the Autoteks which, at 3 ohms, would give each sub around 3000 watts, or two Fi BTL 15s in the same box in the same vehi…

Well, Tang Band has a new fan. Today I installed a Pioneer 7700 cd player, a planet audio vx2002 on a set of fusion powerplant 6.5 comp set, and a jbl bp600 on 2 tang band 740 8" subs in a 1.3 ft3 box tuned at 33. I'm pretty damn impressed for two 8"s that I got new for $80 a pair. Heavy little subs, built well, 12mm x-max. I have 2 more on the way But as it sits it makes for a VERY clean sounding system, I wasn't expecting the amount of low end output, It's not 150 dbs but defintily enough for a nice daily beater, didn't expect the low end authority. So all in all I'm happy. So anybody looking for a nice smaller substage 4 of the TB 8's on 600-800 rms would defin…

I've been out of car audio for a long time and I need some help choosing new components. I already have speakers, subs and amps so this is just for source components and processors. I'm looking for affordable but nice-sounding products. The one thing I absolutely don't want is harsh-sounding electronics. I want a H/U with CD, DVD, FM, HD radio, and digital output. The only thing that must be built into the face is CD. For the sake of economy, the H/U doesn't need a built-in screen but, if it does, I want a touch screen with nice controls. The DVD is actually a future upgrade (maybe) and will have a larger separate screen. I prefer that the H/U not have built-in amps …

Okay I got my Damplifier. And I couldnt be any more pleased with it. So I did my Entire TRunk Lid. With more layers of Damp. Where there were rattles. I put it in the hole where the spare tire goes and around the floor of the trunk and a little on walls. So After Applying I still heard a rattle but it was from under the car. So I crawled under and found the rattle. It was on this square metal piece directly under where the spare tire goes. So I degreased it and Slapped 2 layers on that piece. It cut the rattle out quite a bit. So I cranked up the bass to listen for more rattles. I heard a rattle still under the car. Not loud but you can really tell its there. So I crawled…

There are no Termlabs in town I live in Pensacola, FL but the best shop in town uses a Gold-Line SPL 162, which they said that was calibrated to be within 1db of the B&K spl meters. I do not know anything about these meters so I am asking you guys how accurate they are, this shop sells US Amps and RE Audio, Critical Mass and other high quality brands so I figured that the Gold-Line SPL meter would also be high quality since that is how they deal with high quality equipment. Now for the results: Vehicle: 2004 Dodge Durango HU: Kenwood KDC-X891 Subs: 2 AQ 15" HD3's Sub amps: 2 US Amps MD3D's, strapped(2007 models) Song played: Walk it Out SPL score: 151.7 db sealed up o…

This is going in a show car. Right now I am leaning towards sealed cause they can be made to look so much nicer and still sound good. It needs to get really loud, but will probably never see a car audio competition. If this poll doesnt work, i give up.

These are what I am currently debating to put in a Dodge Charger SRT. It will be made into a show car, so the way it sounds is very important. but it is not meant mearly for competitions. All of them will be set up nicely with plexiglass and such, much like what can be seen magazines like Performance Sound and Auto.

Guys was thinking of installing a dual alternator for my new project. My questions are: i. My current stock alternator is rated at 60 amps. If I were to upgrade to a bigger alternator, would there be a risk of frying the electrical with a higher current alternator? Or can I just replace it without upgrading my battery to bigger ones? ii. If I were to install 2 alternator, what do I have to do? Can I just wired 2 alternators together or do I have to add external regulators or relay? Since its very hard to find bigger size of alternator in my place, I was planning to install dual 90 or 100 amps to my car and also upgrade the big 3. Anyone has more info in upgrading alter…

I'm moving to the DFW area in the next 6 months . Just wanted to know what good shops and people are out there. I may need a little inspiration and guidance. I went to school at UNT several years ago and I'm moving back to the area. Would just like to know where I can go for some good deals and hang out with other stereo junkies.

ok well im in a bit of a tight squeeze. My car is old and i am unsure how long it will be running for, it might go for a year it might go for 7 more i dont know. So i am looking at cutting my old alt out of the question and putting a battery bank, well sort of in the trunk of my car. Im looking into prices and i could get 2 red top batts from wally world for the price of one g31 yellow top. The red tops are about 800cca, g35 i believe, where as the g31 is 1000+cca. now my question is which is the better alternative. running 2 batts i was thinking would help keep the voltage up but i am unsure of this because i know nothing about batterys. Or the other alternative is i cou…
