Running four Dc audio 15 level subs off 4 sundown 1500 wired to 1 ohm.with four odessy 2250 and 210 amp altnators The problem i have is that the four subs come out a long way (not meant to do it in a funny style osaltion)When i get to about 152 db on music. I used to be able to bass race at 154.5 but now can't run that loud at all. I switched from running two crown bpx 2200.And made the box bigger to over 20 cubic's after displacment.it was 14 cubic foot after displacment. I am wondering is the problem cause the box is to big. box is tuned to 32 hz. Burps at 45hz and 155.1 with the 20 cubic foot and 154.6 with the 14cubic foot.

Hey guys I just plugged in my Fi Q 12d2 to my sundown SAX-1200(refurbished by db-r) to test and make sure everything is working properly. I have a Audiocontrol LC2i to signal the sundowns RCA to the speaker level wiring of my factory sub to the factory amp. I'm 90% sure I have all the wiring done correctly. The sundown amp remote on is ran from the LC2i output. The sundown amp light turns on when I turn on the car so I'm pretty sure the GTO on the LC2i is working properly. I wired it parallel testing out low volume with the sub just sitting on its magnet and get no sound/vibration. When the sub is on the port side, does it make a difference if the sub is closer to the port or farther away? if this question doesnt make sense just tell me and ill try to explain it a little differently.

This is a newb question. Can I put an 8 inch sub with an amp in a 2002 VW Passat and still keep the factory deck? Friend doesnt want to change stock deck. Probably a stupid question but I wondered how difficult this would be to install if this was possible. Thanks

I have a powerbass xs15d2 and I've been hearing a rattle. So I inspect the sub and the basket is loose from the upper plate. This would be a defect not user error correct? Also the sub still plays fine and don't rattle while playing music parked but only rattles when I hit a bump or dip in the road. Should I use it till it get replaced? Any suggestion are appreciated.

So i am planning to rebuild and i was planning on 4 15's but don't want to give up that much space. I would like to keep it at the c-pillar. So i was thinking 3 15's. So what would i have to worry about wiring up 3 subs? I have 2 AQ2200d to power them so if i strap them i would like to stay near the 2 ohm's. I dont know much about box rise but if i had them wired at 1.5ohm's would that be ok? What other suggestions do you guys have

is having a wall in the back of your vehicle illegal since u cant see out of your rear view mirror? thinking about doing a wall in my daily driver but not sure if im gonna b getting in trouble for it or not...any input would b great. thanx.

Just a curious thought. Say I had a dual 4ohm speaker but my amp performs best at 1ohm. Can I add an inline resistor to the speaker to drop the ohm load to the amp? The sub is 1500 watts rms and the amp is 1500 watts rms at 1ohm. I thopught I would throw this up to see if it would be a simple solution for a 1 sub 1 amp setup

Im wanting to purchase new subs for my explorer once i get my tax return. i previously had 2 15" kicker L7s in a ported box power by a memphis mojo 2400 amp. id like to stick around paying a 1000.00 for subs/amp/head unit. maybe a little more. id still like to get 2 15's. i had the last sytem 4 years ago so ive been out of the loops on good sub/amp combos. could i get some recommendations please. im wanting to be very loud, not to worried about SQ either.

Looking on advice as to what to look at first for this issue.. Basically out of nowhere I have no sub output or midbass output. ED components on a nine.4 and ED sub on a nine.2.... Not sure why I'd lose midbass and sub output and yet the tweeters are fine... Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Hello to all! This is my first post and I'd like to get some info (please). I've a 2007 Subaru Forester that I plan on having a system installed and have some questions concerning the install. The system will consist of Tru amps, t03-250.2 (for sub) & t03-4.150 (for front tweets & mids). HU will be Clarion DRZ-9255. The speaks will be either Hybrid Audio Referernce or Seas Reference. Well my trunk latch has failed, my license plate has fallen off and the back driver side door lock has stopped working sense I put in my system but.... I downloaded and cranked to the max, banged that at least three times in a row for some friends / spectators and I noticed after that the dust cap wasn't even warm. Now I take it this is a good thing (signal isnt being clipped) except does that mean I can be pushing that speaker harder? If so what should I try and do? I have my gain pretty high, my SSF is set to 30hz (box is tuned at 32hz and it just happens to be right where that song peaks for my car) and I am looking for more ideas.. thanks!

well it went from never doing to doing it alot i will turn it up so everything is shaking then the subs cut of even when my voltage is still around the 13.6v's its pissing me off i have a 160alt two red tops two AA arsenal 15's and a orion 2500d pushing them could my amp be going bad. I was thinking I need to get bigger gauge wire i have 4 cause thats what the amp can fit. PLEASE PLEASE HELP MAN

Hey, I have 2 kicker cvx 12's in a custom ported box that I just recently switched to fire into the cabin rather than towards the back of the trunk. In doing so, it boosted what sounds like the middle frequencies, but it killed off the super low frequencies and the higher frequencies. The reason I switched the box orientation is to reclaim some trunk space, which it did do. Now I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get those frequencies back, and make the bass not sound as "hollow" on certain notes. The trunk is not sealed off, although the box doesn't leave much space between itself and the opening into the trunk. Any help is appreciated!

So woke up this am 4 work to find my back window busted out, tailgate left open... and my subs gone!!!! didn't hear a damn thing... and I'm only 20 feet away or so from my truck. I'm planning on a new sub build anyway.... but damn...WTF? So sick of this crap... So it appears that I have a need for a two way alarm, any suggestions...? local audio place suggested a compustar, and wants 800$ to install it... remote start, glass break, 2nd horn...the works... I don't really care to put it in myself, but I might if it saves me some $, and is not tooo complicated. IDK... really want to catch these little F'rs.....

i saw in a thread on another forum that if you have a subwoofers in a convertible you will lose 85% of your sound with the top down..how true is that? and will it help if the subs is facing towards the cabin

Not sure how it fully happened went to work they were working came home they were not. So i checked the 3 30size fuses in my amp they were all good. I chcecked my remote turn on wires good. All wires all plugged into amp correctly I have an Audioque 750amp and the 2 dcon 10". Pleas help, any more info needed just ask! Im looking for a way to test my amp and subs possibly with a multimeter or a 9v battery. Any tricks thanks ugh!!!

i have 2 skar 12's and a alpine m500 wired to 4ohms(changing amp soon) and it sounds like theres a sound coming from the sub that is not supposed to. it sounds like a high pitched rattle noise and im almost sure its not my car rattling because it will make that sound when the music is not very loud and the subs are only getting 150 watts each. i will make a vid tomorrow but does anyone think they know what this sound is? if you need any more info let me know

Why is this happening? I am running 2 MD3's strapped on 2 HD3 15's, an amp on each sub, and it sounds good but everytime I turn my truck off the subs pop, not like distortion pop but just not a quiet turn off. Is there anything I can do to make it a quiet turn off. It does this with the volume on 0, the shop that was able to strap my amps properly told me that it is normal with large systems. Is this true or is there something that I can do to make it turn off quiet? Is it anything that I need to worry about, is it damaging to the equipment? And my HU is a Kenwood KDC-X891 if that makes a difference. Pretty much what could be causing this? And do I need to worry about it?

do subwoofers still sound good in convertibles this is my first build thanks!
