General Audio

I want to use the line out from an Alpine MRP F300 amp to temporarily (1-2mos.) power a mono amp for subs until I get a head w/sub pre-outs. Any suggestions for a good reasonably priced one. This is very temporary. Also, will doing this affect the 4-channel speaker outs of the amp?

ok so i have 2 dc level 4 15" with the level 5 dual 1 ohm coils and they are rated 1500 a piece and im only pushing one hifonics bxi2010d (its max is 2000 at 1 ohm) to them so i know its not nearly enough power that they can handle and i know that the amp prob isn't putting out 2000 at 1 ohm. My question is should i get another hifonics bxi2010d and run one amp to each sub or should i look into something like sundown? like their 3500d or something like that??? thanks in advance for the help??

i have two SSA ICON 12's in a custom built ported box but my amp keeps going into protection after a while, i kno i can turn it down, but i like the power. i kno these subs can definitely handle it, im currently running a 1100 watt CRUNCH amp. what size amp should i be looking for and what gauge wire do i need to run to handle it i thought about buying another 1000watt and running to amps. pros/ cons greatly appreciated thanks, zack

I have a friend that I am helping and recently built a killer ported box for. He has a 98 F150 regular cab. The box is 2.3cuft and tuned to 33hz with the sub forward port to drivers side. He has a Memphis PR 12 d4 that is decent I guess but his biggest problem is the Sony Xplode 1000 watt amp. "POS" running it. I have it wired to 2 ohms and it dont like it, gets hot after only one or two songs, etc. Wired at 8 ohms it just doesnt power the sub enough. Last night I installed a set of Massive Audio VK6 6.5 components that was a huge improvement over the stock speakers lol. They are running off the head unit and sound fine. I need to replace the Alternator on my Sebring. Does anyone kow of any good companies to use.. I've contacted LOAD BOSS, they only sell 1 and its only 165 Amps. Excessive Amperage, I cannot get ahold of... & Dom Iraggi I have not heard a ton of good things about. Do you have any other suggestions? Would Powermaster Alts be a good place to look? im running 4 amps and a additional one for mids and highs, with a total of 8,360 watts. i wanna go XS Power, what model should i get and how many? please give me feedback, i also have a 250 amp h.o alternator if that helps. ?

I may be buying Tirefryr's JBL BPX2200.1 if he still has it which i believe he does the last time i talked to him. Anyways what do you guys suggest i should do to my electrical system right now to handle it. Only gonna run it on one BL with the gain turned way down. So im thinking 2 runs on 0 from the front back and the red top i have in the back right now will handle it or am i sorely mistaken? I figure i could sell the 1200d to pay for the HO alternator but what do you guys suggest?

Hello, just looking for some advice on my build ill be working on. Currently have 2 Orion HCCa152 Subs. I have the 2ohm ones at 2,500w RMS each. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good amps that can run 5000 watts at 2ohms THe biggest alt I can get is 270A and ill be buying from either Mechman or Singer. And my second question is, how many batteries should I expect to run with this buiild, and which ones will be best? I have a custom box built for my car. I have a 2010 forester. It'll be tuned to 28hz. Would also like some recommendations on a mid/highs amp.

So I had made a topic on this b4 I think but I just received my Sundown Audio SAE 1200d from Fedex and I was all happy and so on, Till I started opening it and I see on the bottom of the Sundown packaging that it is made in CHINA !!! Not really a big fan of CHINA products due to so many problems in the past so hopefully nothing will go wrong with my amp!

Does any one of the manufactures have a 'official' youtube channel, Sundown, DC, Fi, Kicker, etc? If so whats the channel name, and if not I think it'll be a great idea. Since a huge following is on the net and such. I mean you could do burps, walk out how to tune stuff, show new products and everything else. Hi i have a 2009 chevy silverado crew cab. I want to buy a pair of the sundown audio sa 10's im just concerned my box is a little small. The box is 1.02ft3 per chamber ported tuned to 36hz before driver displacement. Im currently running 2 jl audio 10w3v2 in a small sealed box(under the back seat which is where the new box will go)my sub amp is an alpine mrp m1000 i am running alpine components in the front and the deck is the pioneer avhp4300 which i love. I listen to almost exclusively metal ie disturbed, five finger death punch etc.... will these subs work in this box and how will they sound. I just bought a zv5 15 thinking it was dual 2 ohm and it’s dual 1 ohm. I have a few questions. First, can it be recone to dual 2? Because I read some motors are only configured to function on the original impedance. Idk. And if I can’t get it recone, can I run that amp at .5 ohm unclipped on that zv5 and not overpower it? Should I run it at 2 ohms? I hope it can be reconed to dual 2. In need of help. Thank u.

Brother just bought a new camry Nice car stock system? HORRIBLE. Probably the worst stock system i've heard. I've decided to surprise him with a setup, but im tryin' to do this on a super super strict budget. I have NEVER in my life owned a car, esp one with a trunk. I love bass but need room for storage, so I am thinking of putting a single 12" Fi BTL back there (charger). Will 1 12" sub ported be enough?? Will I be better off going with 2 10" BL's ported instead? I'm trying to come up with an idea for front stage that can keep up with four eighteens and sound clean and crystal clear doing so. Imaging as accurate as possible. I've heard many times that multi speaker setups throw staging out the window, for example, six eights in your door. I'm ideally picking up a tahoe, as opposed to another blazer like I originally planned, and while I'm waiting I'm drawing up plans for the next build. Once things settle down and the truck is paid off I'm thinking of reconing the btl to a 12 for a smaller project and getting either an SHD 24 or two Tridents. Hi, i new to the forums and would for my first post to ask something that even after being around car stereo often i still dont understand.... which is Ohms... say i have a subwoofer that i run at 2ohms with a amp that can run 1000 watts at 2ohms... then i have the same subwoofer that i am running at 1ohm and a amp with 1000 watts running at 1ohm... just the change in ohm with no change to either the sub or amp will the sound be any different or would it be the same? any input helps thanks in advance!
