I was wondering if anyone knew who if anyone made a recone kit for the JL 12w3. I think its probably a v1 or v2 but its dvc. the cone has come separated from the surround lol. And one of my employees wants to make a frankenstein so i figured i'd see if anyone knew of a recone kit for it. thnx

So..... I recently Installed a new headunit into my car and I had a Sundown SAE-1200D hooked up to it. The headunit was an Alpine iDA-X200 and it worked fine for a couple hours. Then this weird popping noise kept happening..... After a couple more hours this noise was so bad that the amp kept going into protection. No matter what head-unit or amp I use the same thing happens and I have no idea what the FUCK is going on!!!!! Also, the headunit works fine with out the RCA cables and can play other peoples systems through the RCA cable when wired into my car and the amp can also play when hooked up directly to an I-POD. PLEASE HELP!

Hey, well about two months ago, I put it my sub amp (hifonics 1606d) in with a temporary sub from my home theater set up. Immediately I noticed there was a really loud hissing, even when the RCA's were disconnected. I figured it was a ground, so I tried another spot, with the same results. I left it alone untill I install my speakers and amp, which is now. I finished installing my comps, wired everything up and it was all fine. But i noticed a really faint high pitched noise when the engine is on or off. I have a switched wired to the remote wire of the sub amp. When i turn that on, it turns into a real loud whine, although i cant tell if it changes with engine speed, I'm…

I bought all of Johnathan Prices' old component sets for a real good price, a few of the crossovers were….. well shitty and unusable. But I am MORE than ok with that. My question is, could I run 2 mids & 2 tweets off one crossover? I wired up a 2 mids & 2 tweets to a crossover to check the ohm load at the “input” space and it was at 3.44ohm. If not then I’ll just run the tweets off radio and mids off 100.4 till I find a cheap 50.4.

There are no Termlabs in town I live in Pensacola, FL but the best shop in town uses a Gold-Line SPL 162, which they said that was calibrated to be within 1db of the B&K spl meters. I do not know anything about these meters so I am asking you guys how accurate they are, this shop sells US Amps and RE Audio, Critical Mass and other high quality brands so I figured that the Gold-Line SPL meter would also be high quality since that is how they deal with high quality equipment. I'm going to be running 2 1,000w Sundown amps and 2 10" SSA Icons and today my alternator went so I guess it's a great time to upgrade. Any recommendations? I really have no idea what I'm looking for, but definitely would prefer something more budget-oriented as I don't have a lot of money right now and need to get my car back in working order. A buddy of mine is looking to upgrade his audio, and between him and I we are trying to get some ideas about what to buy. He has a new(ish) (2004-2006 probably) cadillac escalade. Not positive of the max dims, but I can get exacts if necessary. I'm just assuming similar to most other large SUV's. I am making this request on behalf of a customer. He is presently serving in Iraq and under normal circumstances I would ask the customer to provide the measurements of the trunk. The vehicle is a 2002 monte carlo and I am requesting/asking for is the Width, Height and Depth in order to design enclosure to what is recommended or the customers requirements. Recently went to woofersetc and found this company 'Wet Sounds' The pricing is around the same ball park of ZED Audio... These are "marine" products apparently but they look pretty nice. Anyone ever heard of them before? They pretty much make everything.. A $700 subwoofer is available too... GEEZ!!!

So I've bought several CDs over the past 18 months or so and can't figure out what the damn problem is. I have a 5 or so year old Sony CD player that I use until I get my stereo install done, and it won't play almost any of my newer purchases. It acts like the laser can't properly pick up the tracks. It spends about 30 seconds glitching out making odd noises while the laser tries to lock onto the track, then errors out. Normally I'd tack it up to the tracking mechanism or laser pickup going out, but I can toss any one of my older CDs in and it works just fine. It's only the newer CDs that it has problems with. My buddy recently purchased a set of Adire Koda Components. The woofer is going to be placed in the stock door locations. We are just wondering about the tweeter placement. The stock tweeter location is on top of the dash reflecting off the windshield. I know the Kodas work good off axis so I figured the windshield could work well. Any objections or suggestions?

I picked all of this up for $150 today! 3 pairs 5.25 '' audio art component sets, 1 pair 6.5'' audio art component set, 2 pairs of 6.5''old school crappy pioneers, all of the wiring, a audio art 360.6 xe amp and a 160.4xe amp. okay...so idk what is going on with my system - everytime i turn it up it gets SO distorted I cant even play it..and when I say turn up I mean like just a cpl clicks, like 3/40. i thought it may have been the RCAs but ran a brand new one straight back to my amp and still getting distortion...could it be a bad ground - that's the only other thing I can think off? it does it with both my mono and 4ch amp...
