Tinsel leads snapped in half on me today, how would i go about soldering them back together without the solder dripping everywhere?

will a stock s10 alt be able to hold the amps that the new 1500x1 fosgate pulls? i have a yellow top under the hood. should i buy another battery or buy a 200 amp alt?

I am having noise issues when I start my truck and whenever I change tracks on my HU. I have a Kenwood KDC-X891 and whenever I start my truck I have like a humming, pulsing noise through my subs, and whenever I change tracks I get a little thump through my subs. However, this only happens whenever I am playing a CD. Whenever I am changing radio stations I do not have any noise, and if I start my truck with the radio on there is no noise. I do not have any noise whenever I use the USB port either. I can hook up a flash drive and flip through all those tracks without one thump and start my truck with it in this function without any noise, but once I switch the source to CD,…

Im running my 2 channel planet audio anarchy 2600.2 amp with 2 pioneer 4 ohm dual voice coil subs TS-3002d4. The subs are wired to 1 ohm and im not sure what the amp reads it as when bridged. I wanna know if i should change the wiring of the subs or if i am safe the way it is. Safe meaning that i will not blow my amp. The amp's gain isnt up too much and the bass knob is about half. The subs sound really good when i play them but i just want to be sure i will not fry the amp. Any suggestions?

Okay, just brainstorming here... Say I had two D1 subs. I could series wire the coils on each to 2 ohms, then parallel subs to 1 ohm. Or... I could parallel coils to .5 ohms, then series to 1 ohm. But... Could I wire one set of coils in parallel, to .5 ohms, and the other set of coils to 2 ohms, then wire them in series for... .4 ohms? Or is it not good to use different subs...

Hello, I recently received a 12" btl. I put it in a well built box (I have pics in the build log section), on a Sundown saz 1500 amplifier. I had a weird noise coming from the speaker at my max volume. Even if I did not change any settings from my previous setup (I had an xcon 15" on it with NO problem), it seems that my gain was too high. I turn it down and everything is good now ! But I want to find good sounding test tones to set the gain right on the amp. Can somebody show me where to find some ? I think in the 50 to 60 hz range. I set the gain by ears, and I will try to see what I can do with a DMM for that. Thanks in advance.

ive been lookin at getting 2 12" kicker CVX subs with a kicker zx1500.1, or 1 15" maybe 18" Fi BL with a kicker zx1500.1 which set up will most likly be louder when put in proper box??

I'm new at car audio and this is the first system I'm installing in my car. I'm hoping that some of you can answer my questions. I recently bought two Alpine Type R 10" subs and I was wondering if a MB Quart DSC 1500.1D amp will be able to power both of these subs. Also I'm looking for a good 2Din headunit that has navigation, bluetooth, usb, and dvd playback. I've been looking at a few online, but I'm lost when it comes to quality and good brands to look at. I just ordered a Fosgate T20001BD, 2 Fi Q 12's w/ Bp Power option, I have a JL 450/4 which will power a set of 6.5" Focal Utopias and a set of 6.5" Focal Polyglass. As of now I have the stock alternator (2006 RSX) which is small..not sure exactly what it is. I have a regular batt in the front which has 2 4gauge wires runnin to the back. There's a 100amp fuse on each 4 gauge. These two 4 gauges run to a Optima Yellow Top in the back the car. This is where the two amps will be. Does the wiring seem sufficient for what will be in the car? And the fuses?...I may need to get a high output alt. for the car kuz of dimming...

I just bought a pioneer avh-3200bt, pioneer gm-d9500f, and pioneer ts-d1720c speakers which came with 2 subs, 2 tweeters, and 2 crossovers. Where is the best place to buy an amp kit for it and how do you hook up the speaker amp wires when you have a mono amp hooked up to a subwoofer? I know how to hook up the subwoofer and amp without any problems, but I've never hooked up component speakers before and am a little confused on how to hook up the speaker amp to the back of the HU and to the battery if I already have a subwoofer amp connected to both?

the saz 1500 says its rated at 1500 watts @1 ohm,if i want to run 2 12 inch cvx kickers off that what ohm would i buy the woofer in?Sorry for such a clueless answer just dont know much bout that..

Hello, I plan to buy some subs from here. I have a 93 camaro. Im wanting a very loud system with decent SQ. Ive been told to just get 1 10 in a custom box on another forum, but was hoping an emloyee would help me more. I was planning on getting 1 BTL 10/12/15 but dont know which would be best given the room in a camaro trunk. before i tear my car apart does anyone know what size speakers i can fit in my 07 magnum. not lookin for shitty ones but no where has a list of what;l fit, crutchfield either. im lookin fit a drop in preferably jl or focal. i know theyre 6x9s but most website say only 5.25 or 6.5s only. thanks

going to be doing an install in the gf's 05 grand am and she wants to go pretty big. 2000-4000 watts for the subs and a 500> on the highs. i know the stock 105 amp alt isnt going to be good enough for all this. what are some of the things i need to look for when shoping around. any help would be a great help as i hope to start piecing stuff together soon.....

Hey guys I have a little project I need help with. I recently purchased a new head unit with a monitor, replacing my old Pioneer 4000UB with iPod control. The new unit only has RCA Aux-In and does not offer iPod integration. What I am trying to accomplish is have my iPod play audio output through the sound system (two amps - one for mids/highs and one for subs) independent of the head unit, so I can play videos/movies on the head unit while still having the option to listen to a different track than what's being outputted from the movie... if that makes sense.
