(literally a browser window) So I was looking at amps as I always do... I just love fcking looking at them.... pricing out what I like and then starting all over again... Recently went to woofersetc and found this company 'Wet Sounds' The pricing is around the same ball park of ZED Audio... These are "marine" products apparently but they look pretty nice. Anyone ever heard of them before? They pretty much make everything.. A $700 subwoofer is available too... GEEZ!!!

Just a curious thought. Say I had a dual 4ohm speaker but my amp performs best at 1ohm. Can I add an inline resistor to the speaker to drop the ohm load to the amp? The sub is 1500 watts rms and the amp is 1500 watts rms at 1ohm. I thopught I would throw this up to see if it would be a simple solution for a 1 sub 1 amp setup

So Ive been thinking about it and seems like it would be fun. I know nothing about running in comps and would like a little info on how. I know there is a ton of different classes to be in but I dont have a clue about them. Do they go by how much power you run, how many and how big your subs are, or if you have a wall or somethin? I always see these posts about going to shows and you guys make it sound fun. Id appreciate it if I could get a little rundown on what might be best for me with the stuff in my sig. Any info would be awesome. Thanks guys.

  11. okay...so idk what is going on with my system - everytime i turn it up it gets SO distorted I cant even play it..and when I say turn up I mean like just a cpl clicks, like 3/40. i thought it may have been the RCAs but ran a brand new one straight back to my amp and still getting distortion...could it be a bad ground - that's the only other thing I can think off? it does it with both my mono and 4ch amp...

Quick question. What is better having 1 big amp for 2 subs or having 1 amp for both subs that match the sub wattage?

I was looking around last night for some 5.25s and i found a ad with a 6 ch. amp and a 4 ch. amp along with 3 sets of 5.25 component sets all old school audio art and 2 sets of pioneer 6.5'' midbass for $150 for everything. it's a round trip 7 hr. drive to pick it all up. Is it worth the drive and $150 i don't know much abouth the audio art brand. also the components are new in the box.

ive given up trying to fit my 18btl into my 86 monte. i would either have to fire into the trunk(eww) or lose all of my trunk. so im thinking about switching to 2 ssd 15's which will let me keep about 8 cubes of trunk space. the ssd's should be better for sq but still get down and play hard. i was going to feed the fair a clean 2000 watts at 1 ohm. should i get them loaded or just leave them stock. if i get them loaded can they take more power. Been reading lots of sketchy reviews about these lately. American company takes over and then quality goes down? Heard from a mechanic that if you buy these from autozone they are significantly different than from manufacturer

Hi all- I have been battling with alternator whine for a majority of my car audio hobby. I have tried countless things. I had just made an LC filter to filter out noise in the power line of my radio thinking it was finally it, but unfortuately it remained. Then it dawned on me, I have 2 amps for speakers in my car now and I tried disconnecting the one I've had for years. The noise went away, which is great to finally know what is causing it. The problem is I don't have the cash to buy a new amp for my midbass. Does anyone have any idea where to start troubleshooting inside the amp for something like this? I'm a fourth year electrical engineering student, so I'm quite …

  19. So..... I recently Installed a new headunit into my car and I had a Sundown SAE-1200D hooked up to it. The headunit was an Alpine iDA-X200 and it worked fine for a couple hours. Then this weird popping noise kept happening..... After a couple more hours this noise was so bad that the amp kept going into protection. No matter what head-unit or amp I use the same thing happens and I have no idea what the FUCK is going on!!!!! Also, the headunit works fine with out the RCA cables and can play other peoples systems through the RCA cable when wired into my car and the amp can also play when hooked up directly to an I-POD. PLEASE HELP!

Hey guys. Ill be coming back to the U.S from Afghanistan next year and by that time I'll have enough money saved up to upgrade my sound system a bit. I'm in need of someone who is good at building ported enclosures around the shreveport, la area. I'm willing to drive a couple hour to have this done. Any help of info would be greatly appreciated.

I can't believe i am making this thread but there is something not right and evidently i have forgotten. I had this problem before but it was like 4yrs ago and i cant remember what i did. Ok here it goes- I have a sundown 100.4 I am playing a 600hz tone. I hooked up a speaker to chan 4 only to make sure it would output power, it does fine, i even played some music on it so i know the amp works fine. Now, i connect the probe from the oscope to the positive terminal of chan 4 and the ground clamp of the oscope to the negative of chan 4. When i connect just the positive, i get this crazy wave form. When i connect the ground clamp, ... nothing changes. If i connect the groun…

I bought all of Johnathan Prices' old component sets for a real good price, a few of the crossovers were….. well shitty and unusable. But I am MORE than ok with that. My question is, could I run 2 mids & 2 tweets off one crossover? I wired up a 2 mids & 2 tweets to a crossover to check the ohm load at the “input” space and it was at 3.44ohm. If not then I’ll just run the tweets off radio and mids off 100.4 till I find a cheap 50.4.
