I still haven't learned a lot about tuning boxes, and normally pay someone to do it or use free box generators. I am likely going to have to build a box with the port extending outside of the box. Is this going to affect tuning? Say i need a 18" deep port in the box. If I just move it out, 14" inside and 4" outside, will this affect tuning?

Yesterday I finally got my ported box built, but now i need a little help with tuning my amp. I had the frequency set a little high because of the temporary sealed box i was using, but now i want to tune it for the lows. The box is 2.0ft^3 tuned to 32hz with a Fi Q12. This is all in a 96 honda accord off of 800 watts. What should i aim to tune my amps frequency at? Any help would be very appreciated.

Are there any tweeters that have a flush mounting diameter equal to or less than 1.25 inches(31.75 mm) ? The smallest I've found were the JL VR075-CT that were 1.50 inches.

Rite now I'm in the middle of the install of my Clarus 61-2 component set. I have a pre-existing hole from the other tweeter, which is where the C1 will be flush mounted. Since the C1 doesn't have the "screw on" flush mount option like the type-r had I have to some how secure the tweeter. Scott recommended me hot gluing but it was difficult because it dried too fast and it basically cracked and peeled apart, (plastic on plastic) (maybe i used the wrong hot glue?) I also tried using Epoxy Putty but it didn't work well either. Any recommendations and ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, -Mike

I'm in the middle of my girl's system install in her '01 civic and am having a tough time deciding were to place the tweeter The tweeters are too deep to flush mount on the door so I would have to surfarce mount if I put them on the doors or I could flush mount them in the kickpanels. Or maybe flush mount in front of the door handle? What do you guys suggest Also can start build log pics but this is a fairly simple install with f/r comps, two amps, one 12", 100 sqft sound deadening and cd player. Do you guys want the log?

My buddy recently purchased a set of Adire Koda Components. The woofer is going to be placed in the stock door locations. We are just wondering about the tweeter placement. The stock tweeter location is on top of the dash reflecting off the windshield. I know the Kodas work good off axis so I figured the windshield could work well. Any objections or suggestions?

Background info 02 Silverado Active 2-way (Seas Prestige ER18RNX Woofers, Seas Prestige 27TDFC) Tweeters Crossed @ 2500Hz with 12db slope Set @ -7db (Gains set based on voltage) Pioneer HUH701 Processor I'm having a tweeter problem. I blew my tweeter and thought it was just faulty (the right tweeter is still going strong). Madisound fixed it for free but said it was trashed (voice coil) and nicely said it wouldn't be free again. Put in the new one and played fine for a week. One day this weird sound started coming from the right speakers (sounded like a bad ground, popping and such) and then all of a sudden, left tweeter gone again. i had heard that sound before but …

So i blew my morel supremo's.. 440$. Nice. Anyway what other tweeters are out there that sound great but are cheaper. I was on madisound and was looking at other morel drivers. The tweeters are so much cheaper then what i paid for these supremo's. I still want to get them but they are expensive and now i am questioning if they are worth it. Any tweeter recommendations would be appreciated. I am running a pioneer 9800 headunit off a sundown 100.4 amp. My mids are SEA excel's.

ok so my stock tweets are going to sh1t, they make a static noise all the time. so im thinking of just buy some aftermarket ones instead of stock, but i have no clue what to look for in tweets. like soft dome, hard the different materials like silk, titanium, etc. so if someone could give me a crash course in tweets it would e awsome. all i ahve is the HU for power and NO crossover just those gay inline bass blockers. i know ghetto but i wasn't planning on upgrading them but this static is relly gay.

What would be louder? Currently have a bl 15 in a 3.1 cu box. I was wondering if two Sa 10's in a walled trunk would sound louder then my one 15? I dont know if this makes any difference but my 15 is firing upwards in the back of my car.

Hey guys I have a little project I need help with. I recently purchased a new head unit with a monitor, replacing my old Pioneer 4000UB with iPod control. The new unit only has RCA Aux-In and does not offer iPod integration. What I am trying to accomplish is have my iPod play audio output through the sound system (two amps - one for mids/highs and one for subs) independent of the head unit, so I can play videos/movies on the head unit while still having the option to listen to a different track than what's being outputted from the movie... if that makes sense. It would be an easy solution to plug the iPod directly to the Aux-In of the head unit but then the screens would…

I have made this thread before but now I have made some changes in the equipment I will be using that I hope will make this an easier install. Here is the link to the last thread I had regarding this issue Two-way active front stage - SSA Car Audio Forum My goal was to have increased output overall, along with authoritative midbass. My sub stage was going to be crossed low so we eventually decided on 2 Exodus Anarchys for each door, for the midbasses, and ID CD1e v3 horns for the highs. Since then I have purchased two amps I would like to use, an MB Quart DSC 4125 and a DSC 480 (260 shipped for the pair ::). Anyway, I am changing my sub stage to two 18 BTLs on two Cr…

Hopefully this time I can make a decision. I have a 2004 Tahoe, listen to mostly rock, rap, and blues, and want to have a two-way active front stage (finally decided to stay clear from the 3 way active front!). I want to mount in some kick panels, both the mid and the tweeter, which I will either buy from Q-logic or just attempt my own (which is what I am leaning towards). My budget for drivers is up to $500, although I don't think I will need that much. I guess they will be pretty much on-axis and for this project I am considering going more of the SPL route, beyond reference levels, with low distortion which I guess is now referred to as ""SQL"" (e…

Ok so I bought 2 IDW 15's after reading the spec sheet and it saying I needed 1.5-2cu ft sealed... After asking about it I hear IB and giant boxes are what it needs from squeak over on CA.com.. After searching the net it seams most people did IB installs with the IDWs... so does anyone here have experience with non-IB installs on IDW's... The only two thought I have are seal off the entire cargo area with plexiglass (ummm I'd rather sell the IDW's) or make a box the size of the entire cargo area level up to the seat backs... I could swing this, I'll measure it tonight to see how much space this would give each IDW...

Hello all, im sure you're getting tired of seeing my post but here's another. I have 2 sundown SA-12s that will be in a ported 3.5cuft tuned to 32hz with 56sqin of port area on a saz-1500d v.3 wired at 1ohm so about 1500watts with all 1/0 gauge XS flex wire with the big three about to be put in my car. also going with audio technix sound deadener. My buddy has 1 Alpine type R in a prefab sealed box and 1 Alpine type S in a ported prefab box( i would think the type R would be in the prorted and the type s would be sealed but what ever thats his choice) with 4 gauge wire on a 2000watt max amp (both running on same amp) that me or him have no idea what the rms is but he says…

This is the problem... I ordered about 6 weeks ago 2 Kinetik Audio HC1800 batteries on Ebay at IndoAudio (yes, my own stupid mistake). And since then I didn't receive any batteries. Now I am looking to get my cash back from Paypal / Ebay. Anyways, I still need 2 good brand batteries, which can feed my amplifiers. Amplifiers in use (or soon to be used): - 2x (strapped) SAZ-1500D - 1x SAX-100.4 (bridged) What brands (and preferably what types) can you recommend. I am on limited space in my trunk for the batteries; so smaller in size is good, but bigger in size is a no go! Thanks for your help. /edit I currently own 1 Optima Yellow Top in my current car hifi configuration, b…
