Well originally I had a monster cassette adapter, worked well for 5 years, but as time went on, I got unlucky and one of my coworkers sliced the cord. So it still played, but only on the left speakers, it bugs me for a week before I decide to go to best buy and pick a new one up. Dynex or Rocket Fish? Both sound like crappy brands, lets get both! what would be the minimum amount of space i need in between the back of the sub and the back of the box in a sealed enclosure?

Why does enclosure plans use dimensions for builds over ft. Measurements ? ie. displacement vs. total internal area ?

I've owned my car for over 10 years, and went through 3 alpine head units, and went from a pair of JL 12W6v1s to a single SI Mag and from a 600W Crossfire amp to a 880W Massive amp. I've always had a problem when I play bass heavy songs where the song would "skip" (actually, it stops playing for a split second) when the volume's at 16 (The gains were set by ear at 15 and I would never hear distortion with the gain knob 3/4 around. And I always turn it back to less then 1/2, because my ears can tell if it was distorting). I always thought it was the amp going into protect, but I just realized that the whole song skips and not just the bass. I'm thinking if the sub amp …

can you just add an optima to your current system wired parallel. you would still just get 12v. or 13 whatever. but it said charging a deep cycle bat is a whole different thing. an it would just fry your alt. high output or not??? help please thanks again

Hi all, it’s been a while and I want to try SSA again. Had an XCON 15 for 3 years then sold it. At the moment I currently own two Stereo Integrity "SQL" 15, single 15 Adire Brahma, and two 10s RF power T1. I saw the Zcon 12 on SSA website and wanted to see them in action but couldn’t find any vids on YouTube for that model. Anyone in here own that newer model and what are your thoughts on the SQ. I’m mainly looking for a clean SQ driver that can get brutal when want to and doesn’t sound distorted/mechanical noise.

i am thinking about getting speaker replacements for my oem door speakers. i got a 96 honda accord coupe. these are the two i am looking at right now: ALPINE SPS-600 6-1/2" 2-WAY 240W and KICKER KS60 6 1/2" 2-WAY 195W. which one is better and maybe if someone else has a better set tell me. these two are only 10 dollars apart on ebay. they sell for around 50 shipped.

ok basicly im after the best subs for daily use (usually 30minute driving) and i was wondering how much it cost to ship btl 15's hopefully 2.. and what amp would you use to run them both? For those of you familiar with bass box pro and/or winisd, help me out here. The box is 2 cuft tuned to 30hz (12" rlp), 4" precision port When I do this calculation (Lv=((8466.4*r^2)/(Vb*Fb^2))-(1.463*r) I get a number like 15.89". Winisd gives 16.28" with end correction being .614 (is that right for 2 flared ends?) And Bass box Pro gives a length of 17.35". Which of these is correct? Or is there some other part if it I am missing? It seems as though they should all be the same length if my numbers are identical, but they obviously are not. Also, a precision port ordered from PE is 17" in length with adding the flares and not cutting anything, correct? Thanks

I built the box that my SSA 12" Icon is in right now originally for my 12" RD Alpha V2, which the box is 2.3 cubes tuned to 33hz. Just the basic "L" shaped port. I found an ad on KSL for a box build that said he could build me a custom ported box for $250, when I know if I can get help from you guys that I could build it for less than half that, plus he said that "You should probably go with two 10" subs since the 12" subs have a harder time keeping up" which made me really want to do my own box and not this joker. a while ago i was looking at a build log on a bmw and i cant find it it was like 4 tens in the spare tire well, lots of carbon fiber, copper rods as the connectors to the terminals....anybody remember this? and i did search! i even searched my history

well my gf bought a 96 grand am and for her b-day i'm going to do a small set-up. this set-up will include an alpine cde-9881 w/ipod interface cable, alpine mrp m450 mono amp, 4guage power/ground w/60amp inline fuse, swr1242d (type r 12"), and a 1.49 cu. ft. vented box. not bad for a first system, really not bad for a small set-up. i know w/ the type r i could go w/ a bigger amp but i'm working w/ what i have left over from old set-ups in my cars. the only things i had to get was the h.u. and the box. she doesn't need much considering my system gets turned down when she gets in my lincoln lol. do you guys think this will be a decent set-up?

Hi guys, Hope this is in the right section?? Brand new to the forum, just trying to find out if this HU is any good?? Can't find any reviews online? Made a MASSIVE school boy error today and bought one of these along with an alpine 12 disc changer..... I didn't realise this was a cassette receiver as the model number wasn't in the Ad, all the info I had was it was 4x60 watts and I stupidly assumed it was one of the higher end alpines even if it was old!! I got a friend to collect it, I would have checked if I'd have gone, but it was actually advertised as cd player & cd changer!! It's only cost me £50 for the 2 units, I'm just wondering how good the sound quality is …

planning on purchasing the Q1-1200D and running a FI Q12 at 1 ohm producing 1200watts. If I were to switch the FI Q12 for say an SSA Gcon 12 rated at 750rms and running the Q1-1200D at 2 ohms producing 870watts would the response/SQ etc. be different ? What I'm really wondering is stressing the amp at 1 ohm pushing the Q12 produce not as good clear/SQ/responsive bass then running it at 2ohms with a Gcon 12? Or for comparing purposes say the ICON 12 with Q1-1200D at 1 ohm vs the GCON 12 with Q1 at 2 ohms produce a different sound ? I'm not asking for SPL/LOUD but a difference in sound clarity/response etc. in the bass. I hope my question is clear LOL. My main goal is …

For all of you that make your own RCA's, which ends do you use and where do you get them? I'm going optical from my IVA-D310 to my PXA-H701 and rca's from there so they really dont need to be long TechFlex, how do you know what size you need to use? Please give me examples i.e. 1/0 needs 1", 3 runs of 12AWG speaker wire need 5/8" etc And what ratio heat shrink should I use for the TechFlex as well Thanks

i don't know if this gets posted hear but hear it goes i have an L7S15 hooked up to Pyle / pla4478 that is hooked to a atoto/ SA102 deck the speakers are hooked from the doors to the deck not to the amp the problem that i am having is when i am playing music loud the doors speakers cut out but the bass dose not you can still hear the bass so i have to close the music app an reopen it do get audio to come back through the doors when its playing its playing it sounds good an plays great but all the sudden audio stops and bass keeps playing any help would be great i don't know if this helps but it happens through apple car play
