Hey guys, I have friend who is just about to get a car (Acura TL, the older model, like 2004 maybe) and wants to put a system in it. He has about $1K to spend after setting aside some for wiring/installation of the electronics and some for MDF for the sub enclosure. He already has some JBL components for the front stage (not sure the model, but 70 watts RMS), so thats taken care of and I don't think he really cares about rear stage. So that makes $1000 for: Head Unit- ??? any ideas? Mid/High amp- Rockford Fosgate P400-2, Sundown SAX-125.2, Sundown SAX-50.4, others??? Sub Amp- Sundown SAZ-1000D, others? hey everyone. i got a set of x-overs and was wondering if u can help with the settings. when i take the cap off there is a wire that goes to eather "A" or "B" plug. there is also another wire that can go to low, med, can't remeber the third one, and loud. what are all these for. thanks for your help guys.

I have a friend that I am helping and recently built a killer ported box for. He has a 98 F150 regular cab. The box is 2.3cuft and tuned to 33hz with the sub forward port to drivers side. He has a Memphis PR 12 d4 that is decent I guess but his biggest problem is the Sony Xplode 1000 watt amp. "POS" running it. I have it wired to 2 ohms and it dont like it, gets hot after only one or two songs, etc. Wired at 8 ohms it just doesnt power the sub enough. Last night I installed a set of Massive Audio VK6 6.5 components that was a huge improvement over the stock speakers lol. They are running off the head unit and sound fine. Well, so now comes time to hurry up and get some bump in the Cutty before I leave. I've had my mind on some L7s for quite some time and with the recent Ebay explosion on great prices they are pretty hard to pass up. I'm thinking a trio of 12 will do nicely and I'll come in at just under $400 after shipping. Midbass is handled. I have a nice pair of RMB8s just awaiting a good home. Now on to HU, amplification and midrange, tweeters. Here I'm at a loss. Would like to get a nice cheap MP3 compatible HU; amps, who knows. Subs will be handled by a class D for current concerns, but is 1.5K feasible for $250-$300? And what about midrange/tweeter combos? I'm at a loss…

ok so im pretty much a newbie to the audio world i have a 1996 jeep cherokee with only front door speakers and i have bigger alt and bat, and i listen to rap, metal, country, everything, and i want a nice sounding system, i will need a deck with aux port, and speakers that sound clean and clear, and a single sub, i dont need to break windows lol, so if you guys have any suggestions let me know, i would like to keep it under $900. thanks

Hey if i order this dual alt kit and one of their H/O alts from DC power, could i run it along with my stock alternator to the same batterys? or would the higher charging voltage mess it up or do anything like that?

I need to find out if i will need the big 3 or not with my setup. Here is what i have 1 12" kicker L7 750watts rms 2ohm dvc and am going to be purchasing a JBL GTO 1201.1 787watts at 4ohms. My car is a 95 ram 1500 and i think the alternator is 120amps will i need the big 3? information on the amp there are 3 40amp fuses so 120 amps is the most the amp will pull i was told just put that there maybe it will help you guys. Just curious if anyone has ordered any items from this company before? I ordered a beanie from them around Christmas time and it arrived quickly . I ordered a sweat shirt from them in early February and my item has still not arrived. I have e mailed them 2 times and all I have gotten is the automatic response. Has anyone had problems getting their orders from fi? I ordered two ssd's on the 10th and they initiated shipping process on the 15th, but has never sent it out. Just wondering if that's typical or not. Anybody with fi experience please let me know.

The stereo i currently own is an Audiophase model CD188. I opened it up today to get back a screw for my glasses that fell in through the cd tray, and while i was looking around i found three knobs on the main circuit board; little small metal cube with a circle cutout on top, with a colored knob inset inside. Being as curious as i am, i was about to start messing with them but thought i'd ask what they could do, before i blow something up. Note: i googled the model number and brand and only got two results. One is blue, one is orange, and one is yellow. i cant the friggin usb cord for the camera so no pics for now.

Anybody ever deal with taking the dash out on one of these? I'm trying to install my single din radio (not sure if single din's possible) and i'm afraid to just rip off the dash like I used to do with my 2001.

So i have tried searching and couldn't find anything specific about what kind of bolts to use for bolt terminals and how to install them. I usually run the wire right threw my box but i want to try some terminals this time. I tried looking for copper because copper is a good conductor but i could not find any. So what is the next best kind of bolts to use? How do you screw them on? I was thinking about putting some t nuts in the box on the inside and screwing my ring terminals into those then attaching the wire on the outside with bolts. any input would be greatful.

What I want to do is hook the speaker outs from my amp to my computer with some adapter to see exactly what frequencies are present between the crossover points. This way I won't have to guess where 2500hz is on a lpf/hpf knob that is only labeled with 500 and 5000hz. I want to visually see the range on a db/hz plot. Is there a program like I described above? What's the name of it? Is there a device that will accept the + and - speaker wire and convert them to a stereo connection for the mic input on my computer? Would this just be a regular adapter that connects the - to one lead and the + to the other lead of the stereo connection? This is to help get starting points my…

I am planning on buying HC1800 and 5 HC600s soon. I want to use Knukonceptz Konfused battery terminals on these batteries but it appears that Kinetik's battery posts are for ring terminals only. I got these a few days ago to replace a set of Infinity Reference components and they sound pretty dang good. Big Big Big improvement. The only problem I have is the output is way down compared to the 2 ohm rated Infinity, which ain't a bad thing because they were very harsh to my ears, but the Bostons are having a hard time keeping up with my sub bass with only 60 watts on them. I am sure they would love some more power and probably wake up and really shine. Details........ The Bostons are rated @ 3ohm and 125w rms and I have a Rockford Forgate 450.4 amp that puts out 60w RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm, 100w x 4 @ 2ohm, and 225w x 2 bridged @ 4ohm.
