Ok......to start off, my vehicle is a 1993 toyota 1/2 ton pick up. Regular cab. So I have no space in the cab for the kind of sub that I want. The only way for me to get the bass that I want is to cut a hole from the bed of my truck in thru the cab. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so what were the results? I have heard a lot of good things about the Fi BTL subs. Im thinking of going with a fully loaded 18" Fi BTL, and a saz1500d sundown amp. Would they go good together? Well, those of you that read the build log know of he troubles I've had with my system and car. Combine that with the fact that we traded the Jeep in on the wife's new G35 and I'm left with nothing to haul stuff in. The decision has been made to sell my car and get a truck. I have been thinking of different designs. Is there any issues with mounting a subwoofer in the inside port wall facing the port? I know the velocity from the port would be directed across the face of the sub, would this cause cancellation? Or would it depend on volume of the port? Any input is appreciated. Chad

What I want to do is hook the speaker outs from my amp to my computer with some adapter to see exactly what frequencies are present between the crossover points. This way I won't have to guess where 2500hz is on a lpf/hpf knob that is only labeled with 500 and 5000hz. I want to visually see the range on a db/hz plot. Is there a program like I described above? What's the name of it? Is there a device that will accept the + and - speaker wire and convert them to a stereo connection for the mic input on my computer? Would this just be a regular adapter that connects the - to one lead and the + to the other lead of the stereo connection? This is to help get starting points my…

Well, so now comes time to hurry up and get some bump in the Cutty before I leave. I've had my mind on some L7s for quite some time and with the recent Ebay explosion on great prices they are pretty hard to pass up. I'm thinking a trio of 12 will do nicely and I'll come in at just under $400 after shipping. Midbass is handled. I have a nice pair of RMB8s just awaiting a good home. Now on to HU, amplification and midrange, tweeters. Here I'm at a loss. Would like to get a nice cheap MP3 compatible HU; amps, who knows. Subs will be handled by a class D for current concerns, but is 1.5K feasible for $250-$300? And what about midrange/tweeter combos? I'm at a loss…

What do I have to consider about the box design and sub placement and bracing to have the ports on the rear of the box? The reason I ask cause subs would be side and there wouldnt be too much room for the ports if they went next to the outsides of the subs in my trunk. Also are there any benefits to a single chamber push pull ported box? Downsides? What if in the same box, the speakers are on opposite planes- one in back, one in front? I cant find ANYTHING like this on this on google and want to know why.

I read some of the former posts and it said that it's bad to use the bass boost on the amp. So is it best to leave the bass boost off on the amp but ok to turn up the bass on the beck instead? I set my amp myself today, I'm pretty good with doing it by ear. These audio shops around here are either shady or stupid. One of the turned the bass boost up on my amp alot and turned the gain down lol. alright alright... i posted all my optimas for sale here localy here lastnight while i was drunk... i woke up and my email was full of people who want them.... so ill have some funds for new ones.... i have a friend here in town that has 4 optima yellow d 31a's... they are the largest... a normal yellow top like i have now is 55 amp hours.. these d31's are 75... 300 amp hours with 4 or just pick up two new dekas.... 100 amp hours each... so 200 amp hours ...... i have about 250 amp hours as it is now.

I am in the market for a car alarm for my 94' Suburban before I put all the gear in it. I can vaguely recall that there used to be some of the alarm makers having wiring harnesses out that would plug into your existing vehicle harnesses so that it would cut out having to splice into all the different loc.'s for the alarm to function. I built the box that my current sub is in now, which it looks decent and sounds good. I have a 12" SSA Icon in it, I believe its a 2.3 cu. @ 33hz. For me to build the enclosure it costed me around $90 with all the materials. I have an 12" RD Alpha V.2 and an extra SSA Icon just sitting in my basement. I built the box that my SSA 12" Icon is in right now originally for my 12" RD Alpha V2, which the box is 2.3 cubes tuned to 33hz. Just the basic "L" shaped port. I am trying to plan out my build so that I can place things and make my wiring but I have a few questions about a few things. I have a 1/0 run of power from my front going back to 2 extra batteries. I will be upgrading my big 3 4g with all 1/0 wires. In the back of my trailblazer will be the extra batteries. Now, I will just run the main power wire to the first battery then run a short wire to the + on the second battery, correct? And as far as the ground.. I'm sure it would be best to ground both batteries off to the frame... Should I run a short wire between the 2 -'s on both the extra batteries as well?
