The situation: Getting my 12" BTL this weekend.. The amplifier I have currently is going to have my sub screaming for .. I'm wanting to feed it at least 2k rms. The question: Assuming I have the electrical to run 3000 watts at a stable voltage, would it be and audible difference from 2000 watts just on a daily setup? This is not for numbers at all. Simply for listening experience. I've heard answers coming from both ends.. I don't want to spend an extra 100-200$ on another 1kw if it's not going to be any louder to MY ear than 2000 watts. For those who must know the amp I have now, it's a Lanzar MAXP1200d. There are NO available RMS ratings for this amp online that I…

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been driving and enjoying the stereo in my truck for awhile, and now I wanted to make a couple of changes and I was looking for some advice and/or guidance in doing so. The current situation... I have a Ram pickup which currently consists of the following: Stock Uconnect head unit -> JL cleansweep -> front channels Audio Control DQT -> Alpine PDX-F6 CH1&2 150x4 -> ID XS-65 Components (using the XS x-over and tweeter. The 6.5 has been replaced with an Eminence Alpha after blowing the XS6" mid) . Rear channels go from clean sweep to PDX-F6 ch 3&4 -> ID CTX69 6x9's. …

We'll with only one week until the parade my sister has asked me to figure out a way for them to play music for their float In the parade. My main problem is the truck towing the float isn't mine, so I can't take apart, change or modify anything on the vehicle. Second problem is this needs to be done for as close to free as possible. First thought is a power inverter to power one of their boom boxes and just bungy cord it all to the bed of the truck. Issue here is the power inverters with enough current aren't cheap, hard to source locally and I'm not a big fan of having to directly wire it to the truck's battery. I do have two old Kinetik HC1800s in my garage.....the…

Heys guys I will be building my sub box for 2-15inch NS subs come this summer and I had a quick question. first of all here is my box. see how the subs are firing DOWN and the full weight of the subs is on that one board, well i am going to need to support that board somehow. The 2 subs weight about 60~lb's each so 120lbs total will need to be supported. a friend told me to just use a piece of wood (dowel) and screw it from both ends and then glue it and not worry about it. but then i started to think over time due to vibration and temperature change would the screws start to lose their grip and potential come out or something of that nature? so i thought about threa…

I have a dodge charger im trying to put some sundown subs in and I need help picking a line. My goal is to be very loud on music and 30-35 tune. I currently I have a DC alt 270xp, 4 xs 3400's batteries, and im either going to order a DC 5k or preferrably saz 4500 (if i can find one). also due to trunk space....I can't have 15's ported. so it's either 2 12's ported or 3 12's ported. What line of sub and how many is my best option?

So. i have been wondering, what is better for bass. An '02 lincoln towncar, or the 89 crown vic. both have trunks the size of a small house, and both guzzle gas. But what would be the better choice? For the sake of argument, both are show off cars, music-wise, and for looks, both would sit on 22" blades (or maybe spokes for the Linc). The intention is a low-end beast. crushing lows. For whichever you choose, list the setup you would think is best for the space available. I am considering one or the other as a 2nd, 3rd, or maybe 4th car after I run in the bug. I would like the lincoln, but my concern is that, I lack the experience in cars to treat it the right way, i'm v…

I absolutely cannot get away from it, and I was wondering what keeps everyone else coming back for more and more. For me its the undeniable feel of a subwoofer rattling your chest, and knowing you made it all happen.

I've had my subwoofer installed for just over 2 years now with no issues. Now when I start my car (No music playing) The power light on my bass knob flashes and I can hear my subwoofer slightly thumping. I've checked the ground and the power cables but can't figure out what causing it. The clipping light doesn't flash red, just the power light. I attached a video of this. You cant hear the thumping because its very low. The amp I'm using is a Sundown SAZ 1500D and I'm using the bass knob that came with that amp. This issue will happen almost every time I start my car but last week it stopped for about 4 days and now its back and even worse than it was before. Ba…

SO today I finished up adding the HC800 to the rear of my car... I have an issue... Before I did this work my system consisted of a JL 500/1 and BA GT2-125 and a 2 farad capacitor.. Knowing that it wasn't really helping I had been planning since late last year to remove it and either put a battery or just go straight to the amps through the distro block... So... I removed the capacitor yesterday and finished off the wiring today.... I now have a static/whine/ somewhat gets more defined and higher in pitch when going from idle to actually driving.. It does not increase with music volume which is good but it is there when paused or playing or even 0 volume so I know it wasn…

So I had made a topic on this b4 I think but I just received my Sundown Audio SAE 1200d from Fedex and I was all happy and so on, Till I started opening it and I see on the bottom of the Sundown packaging that it is made in CHINA !!! Not really a big fan of CHINA products due to so many problems in the past so hopefully nothing will go wrong with my amp!

Holy chit I'm SOOOO happy, the current box has a 150+ legal in it...got plenty of little secret tweaks to do Not bad for a box built in a little over an hour Oh, and pics are soon to come! I had TONS of fun, learned more, and I owe a big thanks to Mr. Scottie Johnson! Ok so for the last day or two I've been at a total loss as to what's causing problems with my system. I've had it running for a few months now on this brand new SAE-1200Dv2 without a single hiccup until last night. So, this is how it started... I was on my way to my friends house when my subs cut out a couple times. Thought to myself, no biggie, must be a loose connection somewhere. I checked my ground and it was fine. I took a DMM to the subs which presented a 1ohm load, so that checked out. I took the DMM and measured voltage at the battery and amp, which read 14v+. The amp is also getting power as it did not go into protect or turn off. I also took the amp off the swit…

With the increasing demand for the amazing pioneer deh-80prs and the availability dropping and price on the rise I figured I better get one while I can. Should be a nice compliment to my system. Feel like its only a matter of time before this head unit becomes nearly impossible to get your hands on.

What's the disadvantages of running your power wire through the firewall? I already have a 4ga run that's keeping me from dropping volts, but want to make the run of 1/0 I have. I will obviously need to drill a bigger hole if I use the previous hole, and I'd prefer that over running under the car, but what are the advantages and disadvantages? The firewall is not as easily accessible as under a rear seat I am guessing.

So i got excited today and built a 1.25 cube box ported to 32 hz today and put my new 10 inch icon in it. I ran the wires and had everything set up. I also hooked up my amp today and set everything up with that. I hooked the sub and amp up together and it barley worked. I had to turn the gains on the amp all the way up and the bass boost all the way up for it to barley hit. I mean it wasn't even playing notes the sub was just moving a little. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? I know i have everything hooked up right.

So I installed my system on wednesday and Im having a problem with my bass cutting out at higher volumes. If I turn it down it comes right back. I would say it cuts out around 2/3 volume depending on the song. i also tried with the sub gain in a range of position from 0 to half with it set on the radio at the center position. I checked the amp and the blue light stays on the entire time and no other lights come on. Heres my current setup vehicle 09 cobalt ss radio stock processor/loc mtx req sub amp sundown sae 1000 subs (2) sa-12s d4 4 gauge wire first time setup: subs wired to 1 ohm (verified on dmm), battery output at idle 14.2v, amp grounded at battery(in trunk…
