Bought a BTL 18. area in the trunk is tight for now... I would really like my Sub and port facing up. but if that isnt possible or not good then i will settle fot the sub facing up and the port wherever it must be. i plan to use 1" think wood i guess (not sure if thats good enough or what kind to even get) so my dimensions for the box will have to be D: 25" H: 19" W: 27" i subtracted the inch of wood from this and comes to obviosly D: 24" H: 18" W: 26" I entered this into a volume calculator on some website and it told me that this was 6.5 cubic feet. My question is, is this correct? and if not what is the true cubic feet of these... im pretty good at math but i couldn…

I'm sure this will sound very juvenile to pretty much everyone on this board, but after doing some research on the topic and not finding what i was looking for, I found this site and thought i could get the answers i'm looking for and it would be a bit more clear as to what i'm trying to do. I have, in my boat, 4 5.25" sony speakers (1xx watt peak \ 40 wall rms) attatched to a sony HU (52x4). my problem is that it's just not loud enough while i'm driving at cruising speeds. i want to add an amp and possibly 2 more speakers. i was thinking about getting a 4 channel amp. can i use the 4 ch amp to power all 6 if the amp is capable? or should i just buy a small 400 watt amp (…

Jim Thiel of THIEL Audio was one of the pioneers of American hi-fi, and one of its biggest names, ranking up there with Henry Kloss and Paul Klipsch. Jim co-founded THIEL in Lexington, KY in 1976, and was instrumental in the development of time and phase accurate designs with the use of sloped baffles, coaxial driver mounting, and phase coherent crossover networks. I have 1 crescendo 5500 @ 1 ohm on 2 18 sp4s box is 6.5 cub per 18 with 170 inch of square port! 18s are fully loaded. Pioneer deh80prs,4 rockford fosgate 5 1/4 and us 600 pushing them. 320 mech. Alt. 1 xs 3100 up front and 2 3400 in back of honda odyssey van. All 0 gauge cable. Never has it metered, but want more for comp. My question is this what about 1 more 18 with a wall and have amp wired to 1/2 ohm ( for comp) with some dynamat, or two more 18s? Either way will be just the one 5500 cresendo running subs. And how much diffrence do you think would be either way?

Ok, call me retarted. Good news : The jl w7 8's sound amazing, can't wait for the sundown amp to really give them what they need. It's all installed and the sealed box sounds greaT! Bad News : I had to run RCA cables outside the car to test my setup. I can't figure out how to take off the dash to wire my rca's. The remote wire was already in the car which made it easy to do. The car - 1992 Bmw 318i Sedan 4 door. Any ideas? I searched and took off all visible screws but no budge, am I missing something?

I've owned my car for over 10 years, and went through 3 alpine head units, and went from a pair of JL 12W6v1s to a single SI Mag and from a 600W Crossfire amp to a 880W Massive amp. I've always had a problem when I play bass heavy songs where the song would "skip" (actually, it stops playing for a split second) when the volume's at 16 (The gains were set by ear at 15 and I would never hear distortion with the gain knob 3/4 around. And I always turn it back to less then 1/2, because my ears can tell if it was distorting). I always thought it was the amp going into protect, but I just realized that the whole song skips and not just the bass. I'm thinking if the sub amp …

If you had 3 exterior 6" aeroports would it effect them in a negative way to have them entering near the coners of the box or at the lower part? Or is it better to have them in the middle? Thanks, Brock

Looking to put some in my brother's car, since he's taking my AA 18" off my hands. He's on a budget, but I read a bit about these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=11417 Can anyone give me some advice, or refer me to something good for a comparable price. They will be going on a JL http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=438 The sub is already on a JL 1000/1. I'm doing my car full Sundown but we already had these amps.
