I just had an idea on a sub enclosure for my 2002 reg cab s10..... what im thinking is to take out both seats and make an enclosure shaped like a bench seat (with cushion and carpet covering it) with a sub firing backwards behind where each seat was or maybe one firing backwards in the middle i havent worked out any details yet but i need opinions, because i dunno how safe this would be, say if i got into an accident or even if i could make a box sturdy enuf to support myself and other ppl Now, time for you guys to either tell me how stupid it is(cuz it might very well be lol) or gimme some help designing it!! any pros or cons would help!! Thanx Tom

I got a couple hundred bucks to burn and want to see what I can do with my leased 2003 Jetta. I will want to keep the stock headunit in (will it still be possible for the system to be good?). Speakers, amp, and sub is basically what I will be limited to. Can I make something happen on a $300 budget? Are bazookas/powered subs total crap? I don't want cheap sounding, ground shaking bass. I would say I'm looking for 65% clarity and 35% power

Well, as you guys may or may not know I am in the process of the design, and construction of my HT cabinets. The Adire Kit81 units in a ported box using flared vents is in order. I have spent weeks practicing with clear lacquer, as a how to. I have a ton of wood scraps out in the garage I have been practicing differant techniques, and materials and I have found my method. I have tried schelac, varnish, laquer, polyeurothane, and tung oil. I have tried several methods of application of each and I have found my very favorite to be Deft Lacquer, with a natural brush. I have a piece out in the garage with 8 coats of lacquer, but the final product on the units will be around …

  6. Well, last summer, me and my friends saw somebody w/ an ice chest speaker box. They had a Pioneer HU, some Kicker 8's, some Pioneer 6x9s, and a small amp and a battery. It sounded really good. We had the idea to do something bigger and better however. On our quest for the perfect ice chest to use (hey its gotta be big enough to hold beer), we came across a rubbermaid bench. We thought it would be perfect for the project and so we bought it. I took my old pioneer hu (deh-p330) and my friend donated some 5.25s, and I bought some pioneer 6x9s off of a friend. For bass, I picked up a pair of RE 8's while they were on sale. I bought a JBL 80.4 to power it all. After a few w…

If I bought a Kicker amp on ebay, brand new, never used, and with the serial number.. is my warranty only through the seller, or would I be able to get the amp repaired by kicker, if in fact it malfunctioned? -Marcus

I finally took some pics of my cars there is nothing impressive yet still gathering equipment for both. I traded my new Viper 1200.1 for a Hifonics 1500 and Orion H2 12" + cash. I do not have pics of my Eclipse 8443 yet because I left it in the store so they can install it in my 240SX when I am ready gotta have the 3 year warranty. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade to the 8053 and get the BLA and run Cadence amps depends on funding. As of now I intend to get the Orion P.6 and the Orion 6002 if I do not get the Cadence. I was going to wait until I finished both installs but I said what the Hell... The Pics are for my '97 Altima and '90 240SX. I also have a '01 BMW 3…

yeah well since bimmers alternators are expensive i decided to see if caps would do anything for me. Theyr gona be strapped to a JBL 1200.1 for a total of 2 farads. i didnt want to waste money on caps so i bought used ones that i got for 25 bucks shipped for non digital and 35 shipped for digital. I just came up with the rack idea when i was about to put em in, i grabeed a peice of leftover MDF wood from the box i made and put some leftover carpet on it and screwed it to the side of the trunk over my optima red top battery with a couple L brackets. Turned out pretty sick and im waiting on a D2 so i dont know yet if theyll do anything to help the dimming. either way i…

Sorry for the massive pics. Deal with it. Stock deck: Alpine CDA-9813: Kicks with trim rings mounted: Kicks ... fleeced style: Resined kicks: Driver side before: Driver side after: Passenger side before: Passenger side after: Painting in progress: My makeshift paint booth (hey, it was windy): Resin smells. Bondo is the biggest pain in the ass ever ... so I quit, sanded half assed, and painted - so yes, there's flaws right now. But I'll make them perfect eventually. Ignore the wires, they're hidden now. CL-61's if you're wondering. Make sure to use enough resin to soak ALL the way through the fleece ... it takes a LOT to do this. Hmmm what else ... oh, th…

Now, I realized that an electrical outlet is a wicked idea as a speaker connect. It's made with heavy gauge copper, it accepts heavy guage wire, to be screwed down and it makes for a very easy connect, disconnect. I know that almost nobody would understand the concept of this, which is normal. I would like to hear reasons, people would not use this method of connecting speaker wire. I'm looking for facts, to show why an electrical outlet, is not as good as a regular speaker plate.
