So I get everything put together today and almost ready to go, but the cutouts on the box are too small for my xcon 10's. So I'm wondering the best way to remedy this problem.I'm trying to keep it as clean and as simple as possible. Thanks for the help.

So I just moved my XCON into the garage yesterday because I was planning on putting them both in tomorrow. This morning while half asleep I bumped my toolbox and a heavy ratchet fell directly onto the dust cap..... After getting the dust cap off I was surprised to see this. So I'm assuming this means that I can still put them both in tomorrow, and just put the cap on when it arrives? (Thanks to Aaron for taking care of me super fast!)

Equipment: 2 Xcon 12's (dual 1's) on a Incriminator Audio 40.1 at 1 ohm (3600 watts rms at 12v on stable electrical), pioneer 5900ib First off, I came home today and I decided to do a little testing on the Xcon's where I could actually see them. I noticed that the subwoofer farther away from the port has much more excursion (xmax) than the one close to the port. I feel like this might have something to do with a ported box where the port is on one side, but I'm not entirely sure. I also noticed that the one with more excursion is getting hot, (one close to the port is warm but not hot). This concerns me, I feel like it points to one being at a different resistance tha…

Sorry so long. Thought this would be a good share. Email received from XS Power: Thanks for contacting us regarding the proper way to charge sealed lead acid (AGM) type batteries like the ones we produce. Unlike conventional lead acid batteries, AGM batteries are completely sealed, meaning that all of the gas and electrolyte is safely stored inside the battery. In order to keep AGM batteries in good health, and to maximize their performance and life expectancy, it is important to properly charge and maintain them. Leaving a battery (conventional or sealed) in a low state of charge over a long period of time is bad for the battery because it allo…

I have a low budget and found a deal on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350193519262 it comes with 2 10" subs in a box and an amp for $170 obviously i know that these arent going to be the best subs, but i dont plan on playing my music mind-numbingly loud. Just loud enough to get some crisp base thumping. Ive never bought or had subs in my car before. let me know how the specs of the subs and amp stack up, and if theyre worth the price. -thanks!

Okay I got my Damplifier. And I couldnt be any more pleased with it. So I did my Entire TRunk Lid. With more layers of Damp. Where there were rattles. I put it in the hole where the spare tire goes and around the floor of the trunk and a little on walls. So After Applying I still heard a rattle but it was from under the car. So I crawled under and found the rattle. It was on this square metal piece directly under where the spare tire goes. So I degreased it and Slapped 2 layers on that piece. It cut the rattle out quite a bit. So I cranked up the bass to listen for more rattles. I heard a rattle still under the car. Not loud but you can really tell its there. So I crawled…

These batteries I keep seeing people purchasing and talking about are deep charge batteries, correct? If so, what is the difference between buying one of those verses say, a deep charge mariine battery from Walmart? Thanks, Mark

Well, I usually stay away from all the local shops, there about 5. But I was bored so I went around yesterday to see whats new. Theres one shop thats actually pretty knowledgeable/cool. A old guy at Autosoundaddiction(VERN) We were sitting around talking, this kid comes in with a 15" Team RF fosgate(sweet SPL 4hp sub) the dustcap was loose, but he was sure it needed to be sent to the factory for "repairs" Tested the coils, their fine. Vern says " I have some CA glue in the back I'll just glue the dustcap back down and you'll be good, save you a couple hundred" The kids like no"I don't want it half assed, it needs all new parts." WOW I tried to tell him, that its jus…

Hey fellow SSA members, tonight i am devoted to learn this to the fullest, so there will be a lot written.. and questions as i go along, big thanks goes out to ANeonRider because this is all based off his How To: Set your Amplifier Gain - SSA Car Audio Forum (I'll be working at the thread for about 30min to an hour before posting) THIS IS GOING TO HAVE QUESTIONS THAT ARE DUMB... but i need to ask them to get it clear and have no doubts. To figure out what voltage you should set the gains to, multiply the RMS power of the amplifiers output by the impedance of the speaker, then find the square root of that number. -- I'm going to be using: PDX 4.100 Alpine Type R comps *4 …

However this is my first L shaped slot port box, so I need some help guys. I've searched and searched and did some more searching and I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. As the title says, looking for pointers installing in a Grand National for a buddy. He has had the car forever, drives it often and wants some improved audio. The plan is to do no un-reversable mods to the vehicle, will be installing a DIN head unit in place of the stocker (that is going in the closet), change out the door speakers in the Concert Sound II pods for some 5.25" components, throw a sub and amp rack in the trunk. Seeing as sandt38 has a few of these cars, hope he can provide some insight.

lol funny topic but true..heres the deal..latly i been really thinking if i need 4 18's since i will never compete and with all these noise violation laws..i think 2 18's will be enough for me..if they are not then no biggie just order 2 more..but heres the deal..do you guys think its justifiable to spend $1200 on sound deadening on just 2 18's? am i going over board? the plan is to go single layers on doors and double up every where else..which consists of 240 sq ft of damp pro and 160 sq ft of damp regular..so what you guys think? i just dont want to feel like the fools who buy rims that cost 3-5 times more then there car is worth..lol

How many times have you rode down the street going to the store or to a friend's house or something, and you are at a stop light and someone pulls up with the system bumping and they think that they are the Shyt. what do you do when this happens to you? I personally. turn my system up for about 10secs turn it back down and hear nothing but sounds of the street. embarrassed, the other person puts their's on mute in shame. I thinks it funny a little. Is it me or does some of our local audio shop now a days don't know squat about car audio. I decided to start this topic so that people can share any of their experiences with your local audio shop about the shear ignorance of some of these people. I'll share first: I decided to call one of my local car audio shops here in houston,tx just to mess with them and see what they really know about audio. ME: I'm running 3000 watts rms and my lights are dimming. what can I do about that. SHOP: "I have some capacitors here that will help with that. 2 5 farad caps should be enough to stop the dimming. what kind of amps do you have? ME: soundstream and sundown audio. SHOP: whats …
