I met a guy at a competition a few days ago that had some sound deadening tape and I was wondering where i could get some. it wasn't like dynatape that's just the aluminum tape but it actually sound deadening properties. I figured it be nice for a few places in my durango where my sound deadener is too think. Any idea where I might be able to find a product like this? I did a google search and all the ones I have found appear to just be aluminum tape. Thanks guys!

i have every panel popped off ready for install. my doors are a mofo, the rubber grommet thing thats between my doors for the speaker wires is going to be really really frustrating and i was trying to figure out how much a shop would usually charge to run speaker wire into a door. i'll have the amp all hooked up and ready for speaker wire it just literally needs to be ran through the door. the door panels will be off, all the trim for the side where the wires will be popped so that will cut off some time on the installers part. roughly how much would a shop charge me for this?

Currently I have one 15" XCON in a ported box powered by a DC Audio 5K at 2 ohms (2300 watts nominal). I built the box with .75" birch and double walled the whole box. I am thinking about getting the new IA Death Penalty and stepping down to a 12" sub. My question is, do you think I should build a double walled box for the 12" DP on a DC 5K at 2 ohms? I don't really want to mess around with dowels for bracing and fiberglass to hold them in. And the XCON is great, I love it, but I have wanted a Death Penalty for a long time and need to step down in size so I can get some trunk room back for an air tank and compressors.

So I have a dick neighbor that complains everytime he hears any music. Calls the cops everyday apparently. So they setup and undercover down the street and I got pulled over for my loud stereo. He told me the only reason he was there was waiting for me. He asked me how loud my stereo was, and I didnt know exactly how to answer that. He asked me the same question about 3-4 times and I said I dont know how loud it exactly is. Gave me a ticket that says car stereo audible over 50ft. Ive read the noise ordinance and it says this about the subject. "15. Radios, televisions, musical instruments and similar devices. Except as otherwise permitted for noncommercial spoken language…

It's been said many times that it's not as useful to add more power, as to have a more efficient enclosure, or that a single woofer in a correctly designed enclosure is generally better off than two or more in less than adequate boxes; I took some measurements of my truck, and it looks like I have plenty of room for a pair of 18's. But will the difference between one and two woofers be worth the extra costs? I'm looking to get loud, and sound fairly good doing it, however I cannot afford high power woofers, especially until I can get larger alt in. My budget for woofers is <$400 each, but I have to determine what i'll be getting before I can make a choice for an amp. I…

I've got a competition tomorrow and had my batteries just arrive this evening. Setup is two hc2400 and two hc600.the question I'm posing is only one run of 0 ga. Enough for just this one time event or just forget about it and spend the day making a second run. I'm powering a sundown 2500. What's your thoughts? It will have the second run done I'm just not sure if only one run will hurt the batteries.

yes, I know kicker isn't a real high end brand but i got an excellent deal on 2 12 inch L5s and a kenwood kac 9152D 900 rms mono amp. the guy i bought them from built a very piss poor box out of subflooring material and basically gestimated a slotted port dimension. the box performs about as well as a dual brand bandpass box. he was using a head unit with a very good EQ and in his integra the drivers performed well all things considered. in my jeep however, they only operate (I'm guessing here) in the 50 to 65 hz range well and only give me a bit of a hum in the low range. now, I know you can still get a good low end response out of a set of 12s. I've witnessed this. I've…

So i've got an Fi SSD15 in a 3 cube box @ 37hz. sounds really awesome and clean on the lows, up to about 55hz. there seems to be a massive hole in the bass response between 60-70hz. I have the LPF at around 110hz because despite what i hear most people cross their subs at, mine just gets louder and louder and plays clean up to that spot. there's no apparent cancellation when i open the trunk, the woofer seems to play all the way from 30-100hz effortlessly and with a fairly transient response. the thing is that its in a sub UP port back configuration, and there only about 3-4 inches of clearance between the subwoofer cone and the roof of the trunk. I had tried moving t…

With the sale on Flatline amplifiers, it's hard not to resist asking if upgrading is worth it... I currently have a Soundqubed 1200.1 powering my SSA Icon 15 d2 in a sealed 2.6 ft^3 box. Will there be any noticeable difference in loudness? Will this amp provide enough headroom in case I purchase another Icon 15 in the future? Any information would be helpful since there isn't much data on these amps. Thank you

i purchased a dd-1 years ago and recently i purchased a dso nano oscilloscope, for half the price of the dd-1, and decided to do a little testing... I used them both on both of my amps and this is what i got on both amps. clearly the dd-1 shows that there is no "distortion" yet there is some soft clipping, which can be seen much easier from the picture i took closer. i did not have to turn the gain down much more to get a round wave. so, my conclusion is that if people want to set their gains with tones than they should save some money and just buy a dso nano.

Hey guys! I’m wanting to turn one of my car subs into a home sub just for music and movies. I was wondering what’s the best way to go about this? I don’t have a box for the sub so I guess id have to get one made from someone off of craigslist. What kind of specs should it have or anything that I should have required done to the box? Such as a port & air space. I’m not sure how either sub would work with the receiver I have. So please let me know which sub you think would be best match for the receiver. I don’t know much about this stuff so all help is appreciated. I do not want to spend much this lol. Thanks! What I have to work with: - Alpine …
