I currently have a single ICON 12" powered by a SAE-1000D. It's fun and everything but after I tell people how much money and time I spent on it, they're not THAT impressed. Not once has anyone said it sounded bad, but they just have heard louder. They all say it sounds amazing (SQ wise) and say it can hit lows impressively compared to their generic kicker subs etc.... Anyways I was wondering if there are any pics or build threads of Silverados without a backseat and a tasteful box in it's place. I'm still debating on what to do, but I have no problem taking out the backseat and having a 2 seater truck, because if I had it my way I would've gotten a regular cab short bed …

I have been thinking of different designs. Is there any issues with mounting a subwoofer in the inside port wall facing the port? I know the velocity from the port would be directed across the face of the sub, would this cause cancellation? Or would it depend on volume of the port? Any input is appreciated. Chad

alright guys so I'm getting my alternator within a month, and getting ready tear apart my ride and redo my whole wiring (to get rid on an alternator wine) and to complete my car with all sky high. anyways, wanted to switch my enclosure to birch wood with the fact that it is lighter than mdf and that natural look, looks a whole lot better the way i have my enclosure right now its tuned to 33hz, subs pointing upward port towards the back, love how it sounds (gets down, windshield flexes) on 3 10's so my other option was to make an enclosure and seal my trunk having subs and port pointing forward, never tried it but i have seen some videos of some enclosures ge…

I noticed this problem starting about a week ago. My sub will lose output by about half and play like that for a while, then start pounding again. It doesn't seem to matter if the volume is high or low. I checked all the wiring going into the amp and everything is tight. Took the sub out of the box and recrimped everything. I'm running the stock HU, an MTX RFL600D and a 10" Clarion SW1051. Amp is only running at 4 ohms (rated 300 watts @ 4 ohms). Stock electrical also. Lights don't dim at all. I've got a spare sub laying around, but it's a 12" and I don't have a box for it and no means to whip up a temporary box. What's the best way to start eliminating what the problem c…

Hey guys I currently have a DMX12 just laying around thought I should build a box for it. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this driver before or had any ideas on box dimensions for it. I know nothing about this sub I got it on a trade = to $150 and it has never been used. I have no info on what car this will go into but it will be for street beats in a ported box so any dimensions you guys want to throw at me I will probably do.

I've been in the subwoofer game since I was 17 and I'm 27 now. I have never managed to figure out how to get a subwoofer to really KICK for rock/metal, it only seems to be hip hop or techno music that makes a subwoofer noticeable. My questions are: 1. Is this more related to the production of rock/metal albums? 2. Do I just need to throw more power at my system? I'm only using an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 in a sealed 1.25 cube box right now with an older Sony XM3001SXD amp(600w @ 2ohm). 3. Do you know a trick I don't?

i have a mecedes benz 560sec with 2 12' fi ssd's running off of a crossfire vr2000d with the port of the box firing thru the rear deck. i have never had a car with a sunroof and i am about to have this one repaired. the cable to open it came loose. do any of you have sunroofs with serious beats? i am not competing so this question is more of a daily thing. have any of you had to have them permanently sealed because the sound broke them? i was thinking if i just vent the sunroof a little while playing it wouldnt cause damage or also of angling the port more forward instead of upward to minimize the stress on the roof.. i would hate to get my sunroof working for the sound…

From time to time I come across old drivers. A lot of which are so old, finding listed t/s parameters is impossible. So I have started the search for a way to test for t/s parameters myself. Which lead me to parts express and the woofer tester 2. Anybody had any experience with this thing ? How accurate are the measurements it provides ? Is there any other cheaper more accurate way to test t/s parameters ? does anybody have experience with the trunk space of a zx3 2002 ford focus? i guess it doesnt have to necessarily be 2002, but at least the same body style. Im recommending the BTL to my friend based on his goals and because im a Fi fan. he wants to be as loud as he can get with one btl, and hes pretty noob so immediately he assumed the 18 would be best for him. so what im asking is does anyone know if a box big enough for an 18 will fit in the focus's trunk? i dont have the dimensions, although i might later on when i talk to him. and it can take up the whole trunk except a lil room for the amp (most likely going to be an audioque 1200d.) hes probably just gonna be…

OK, I know I'm impatient, and I'm not saying SSA is taking too long, I'd rather wait for something that is going to be this awesome versus them rushing and giving me something that might fall apart. But, I was just curious the average time people waited to get their sub. 21+ days could mean 2 months for all I know. I'm trying to keep myself busy right now getting wires pulled and the box built, and hopefully time will pass faster. I'm just hoping the 14 days i've waited so far means I'm half way done:)

So, this is about the only event that I know of even remotely close enough for me to drive to.
