well im getting ready to purchase all my front stage equipment, SLS-8's and probably CDT gold 4" 2ways. the question is, if i decide to go with raw drivers for mids and high like the Auras or Seas, which are about all 8ohm, whats the best way to get some decent power to them? i understand that 100watts to these is about sufficient, but i know of competitors pushing 800watts to each driver! so whats your front stage/amp setup? and any reccomendations would be wonderful

ok, i got my box built (5 cubes net @33hz), and now my subs aren't loud at all.it sounds like they're bottoming out on every song i play (i listen to mostly rap) the sq is horrible cause they bottom out non-stop, i think its the settings on my amp here they are: subsonic=20 bass eq= 1/2 up low pass=1/2 (out of 35-250 phase=90 deg. (what is this, and what is it for?) level (gain)= 1/4 way up..... is it my settings or what???i can't think of anything else unless its my box but i rechecked the math on it and it came out right....my port is 10x8, the calculator on carstereo.com i used said 21" long (20.97 btw), so i used end correction and took off 5", is this right?my port i…

Hey guys what would you think be better for my single cab truck 3 Sundown SA 8s on a SA 1000D or 3 SSA Dcon 12s Running on a SA 1000D? Please respond fast

So I've decided that I don't like this 38-39hz tune at all. We have 9.5 cubes (after disp) current port is a 12.5 sonotube @14.5" long I can maybe stretch it 17" maybe, but all that extra port will be external. But that's only 36-37hz 12" doesn't help much either... If I can find a 11.5" sonotube I can get to 34hz @17" long 12.5"=122.6sqin of port=12.9sqin per cube 11.5"=103.8sqin of port=10.9sqin per cube Most people's rule of thumb for round to slot port is 3-4" so 12.9sqin per cube =15-16.9sqin per cube 10.9=13-14.9 So what do you ladies think?

I am using the following tool to figure out how long my aeros need to be to tune the box. http://psp-inc.com/tools.html It will be a ~5 ft^3 box I want to tune it to ~29 hz I am going to use 6" aeros http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=268-354 I want to use 4 of them, for the look it will give the box. What I'm wondering is after I put all this in the calculator, it tells me I need 69" of length. Is this per aero or all of them combined? I would hope that it would be inches total and not per aero. Does anybody else run their mids and highs with their head unit? I would get a separate amp but I'd need to upgrade my electrical beforehand. I have re 6x9s in the back and stock in the front and its really not loud at all....to be honest the stock Charger SXT head unit sounded great but since I switched it the panasonic head unit its really not as audibly sound.

I am curious to see if anyone else runs in to this issue and what might resolve it. I currently run a Pioneer PRS80 after selling one and getting another one i've noticed this same issue with both decks. Once I go pass a certain volume on the deck the bass itself makes the USB seem to disconnect from the unit for a quick second. Cycling through the source options and choosing the USB after turning down the volume lets it play again. I've seen others using this deck in loud systems and I wanted to see if they had the same issue and what they might have done to resolve it. Hey guys, I was just wondering what the tuning frequency of a box really means. For instance, if my box is tuned to 35hz, will it simply not play any frequencies below that level, or will it sound like complete shit, or...? I just wasn't sure exactly what tuning frequency affected. I've read in a few places that higher tuning generally yields more spl, while lower is more geared towards sq. Why is that?

does anyone put a fuse between your subs and amp? just wondering because i used to have some g5's and they had fuses to hook them up at 8 ohms or 2 ohms. "seen several other woofers with fuse systems like some jvc's" just wondering is it a good idea to fuse them or bad idea?

Well I need to find some screws and I'm not having any luck. They are allen head machine-type screws for the chassis of an amplifier. I've searched high and low locally....from big box stores to mom-&-pop hardware stores to RC Hobby shops. Everything I've found is either too large or doesn't have the right thread pattern. Anybody have an idea of a good store or website to look on to find somewhat obscure screws ?

I understand that the amount of decibels you are able to achieve is totally dependant on install. I was wondering if anyone would care to guess or offer a range of where i might be with my setup. I have a 2004 blazer with stock alternator and battery. Should be 105 amp alt... I have 1/0 gauge Kicker wire running to the back. I have done the big 3. I'm waiting on a SQ2200. It will be pushing a HDC3 15 copper D2 at 1ohm in a 3/4" dual baffle mdf box with 5.29 net tuned at 35.79 hertz according to torres. Any guesses? My alt charges at 14.4 Have a batt bank, and stays above 13v whith hard bass hits. After a while my subs loose "thump" I still have some bass I'll turn the volume down and it comes right back. I have my gain set to 7 at 28 volts well below max output. Brand new T1000-4ad running two P3's.

I have spent weeks practicing with clear lacquer, as a how to. I have a ton of wood scraps out in the garage I have been practicing differant techniques, and materials and I have found my method. I have tried schelac, varnish, laquer, polyeurothane, and tung oil. I have tried several methods of application of each and I have found my very favorite to be Deft Lacquer, with a natural brush.
