Hi guys. Since I got my BL 15 I have no use for my Type R 12 and my buddy wanted to upgrade his system a little bit. I've done a couple installs but have no clue where to start with this. This is the system that got my into high output sound systems and now I really need to help him get things straight. He has two Blau Punk 12"s running at 170 wrms each mounted in two 5 gallon buckets. They are basically free air but when the truck is closed they actually have quite a bit of output. For what it is. Lol. Now he wants to fabricate a box for the new Type R 12 and run his amp bridged at 500 wrms. Any ideas would be awesome!! Here are a few pictures and measurements. Thanks ev…

  2. I bought 2 15" VVX subs in 2011 and even had Skar build me a custom box for them and I'm very happy with it and still am today. However, I have another project I'm designing a build for and have emailed Skar audio (Kevin) direct, and Skar audio support after I got an email saying they try to respond within 2 hours of getting an email. Well, I sent 2 more emails over the last 7 days and called 3 times and left messages on their phone number about getting specs for subs and advice on my application/build. STILL NO RESPONSE! Once a fan boy, and now disgusted with this pathetic lack of support, I no longer will be buying new skar audio products since they don't put the custom…

  6. Looks to be a cool little unit. Appears you can, via a laptop, adjust power through out the passband to limit over excursion.

  10. Hi I am working on a school project showing the most extreme end of car audio. Meaning not your basic radio and door speakers. I will be covering everything from the difference in products and competitions. The time limit is 8 minutes to present so I will not be going into fiber glassing or anything like that. What I need is some file videos of some competitions and loud cars in action. If you know of any legit place I can download videos from to edit for my project, I would love some help and be very thankful! Youtube would be perfect, but i dont know about downloading from there. I was thinking of using something like hypercam but I could never record the soun…

Hi everybody. I just installed my new high output alternator today hoping that it would stop my voltage from dropping like what would happen with the stock alternator. But it didn't. It sits at 14.1 volts where as the stock alternator sat at 14.4. I did all the big 3 upgrade wires in 0 awg wire as well. I am running a bzr1200.1d at 2 ohms with a 12" Type R D4. At 14.4 volts its supposed to push 900 wrms but the new 180amp alternator has the same voltage drop that the stock alternator had... Why isn't the new alternator keeping the voltage up?? Im not even pulling anywhere near 180 amps. Any input would be awesome.

so my ultimate goal is to get hair tricks. after that im good. i tried with my current set up (15"xcon sealed in 3 cubes) and i can get a tiiiinnnyyy bit of movement with the window almost comepletly closed. sad i know. im wondering what i need to do to get a half decent hair trick. what i have in mind is to get another 15 and do a wall behind my rear seats. maaaaaaayyyybbeee 18's. i know the bigger the better but since i already have one, might as well add rather than start over. so yea, i wanna build a wall with 2 15's both subs and port above back rests (will be keeping seats in and up not folded down). i already have 1 t1000 amp. with that and another 15 would that …

So I have an XCON 15 and im finally getting a ported box designed. Thing is the optimal size I'd 4 cubes ( could be wrong, I can't check right now) and the box I already designed is 5.5 cubes after subtracting all Displacements. Tuned to 31. Is this to much box for the sub? Will it bottom out? Thanks guys. I'm a green horn when it comes to this

I want to ground 0gauge to frame on my quad cab ram.. I dont want to ground to underseat bolts or any area from the inside of cab. The shortest length from mount to frame rail is 1.5 ft to inside cab. My idea was to have a bolt weldeld to frame closest to my wire entry to cab. Is 3or 4ft ok for a ground wire at zero gauge..

I am going to be building a box for my 12" ssa Icon in a month or two and I couldn't stand not having a sub in my car so I bought two 12" DVC Memphis PR's (250 rms each) and the box that they're in was built so the subs could have there own chambers so it has two ports (a port on the left side and a port on the right side) and it has two cup terminals (1 per sub). I have a mono block amp and I have two positives and two negatives running off my amp (1 pos. and 1 neg to each sub). I am not sure how the subs are wired inside the box so I don't know if they're parallel or series. I have a Cadence ZRS-8 which puts out 1500rms @ 1 ohm and 750 @ 2 ohm and 250 @ 4 ohm. So my …

Allright so within the next month I will be ordering an FI BL 12 to put in my 98 mustang gt, I currently have a soundstream tx1.2000D mono block amp to power the BL. Also I will be running it at 1ohm, do you think the BL will be able to handle the watts or should I keep the amp around 1000-1500? Any feedback is appreciated. Just want to know your thoughts

With my setup so far my top score is 147.9 @ 32hz. Was wondering if anyone could tell me any quick tips on being louder on the meter without changing power or box? 2004 Dodge Durango. 2 XCON 15s in 4 cubes net each with 160 sq in of port between the two. Amps are RF T1500cp on each sub. Hints, tips, tricks? Im very new to competing. They place the meter in middle of windshield down low near dash if it matters. Thanks in advance everyone! Edit-My second score (last weekend) was a 146.3 @ 35hz. I did have to notch out a little of my box on each corner to fit it properly and of course my stupid ass unloaded the subs after the first show. Would it be warmer weather lowering…

i was kinda surprised today when i was cruisin after work and i decided to play "bass i love you" and on the really really low note it flexed the crap out of my window so when i got home i stood outside the door and i did a little bit of a hairtrick on myself and i dont have very long hair so it wasnt awesome and it wasnt a massive hairtrick but for a single 15 i thought it was sweet! ive got it in a prefab box right now(bad i know) and its on a kicker 1000.1 ( not proud to admit that) and its probably not even getting 1000 watts right now ( clean power anyways) and it did a little hairtrick! have to try it on my girlfriend! its in an 06 chevy colorado crew cab by the way…

I have 2 runs of 0 and running 2 more sometime when I get time ( already have it) . . I was wondering if you need the same amount of ground as you do power.like Should I use 2 of the runs for ground and 2 for power or all 4 power and 4 grounds in the back or 3 power and 1 ground from front and 2 grounds in the back or what? There will be at least 4 runs no matter what. Just seeing what y'all think I should do
