Hey if i order this dual alt kit and one of their H/O alts from DC power, could i run it along with my stock alternator to the same batterys? or would the higher charging voltage mess it up or do anything like that?

Hey guys, i need help and some kind of solution in securing my box in the trunk. its a premade JL audio box called a powerwedge, so the box is shaped...like a wedge in the back! The problem is the design of my trunk, since it has "bumps" on the sides, making it so the box wont fit directly straight in. Think of the box sitting on a slight decline, like a car going down a steep hill. The problem with this is that the box has already fallen over frontwards because a lot of the weight is sitting right in the front, and i dont want to damage the subwoofers (2 12" FI Q). I've already propped the front part of the box with 8 mini carpets, but i'm afraid that will only work as a…

So, I am getting ready to buy a box from a friend that is made for a 2008 F150 super crew (which is what i have)...however, the box is carpeted in a fuzzy gray carpeting and my interior is black. Is it ok to just rip the carpet off and recarpet it? Also, if I decided I didnt want to recarpet in black, is it ok to sand the parts of the box that you will see down some, apply some light layers of resin to harden it, sand it down and paint it? I have never done this, but I think it will give the nicest look. Thanks

So I have an XCON 15 and im finally getting a ported box designed. Thing is the optimal size I'd 4 cubes ( could be wrong, I can't check right now) and the box I already designed is 5.5 cubes after subtracting all Displacements. Tuned to 31. Is this to much box for the sub? Will it bottom out? Thanks guys. I'm a green horn when it comes to this

I'm looking for a box builder near Oklahoma City, or anywhere in this state! I've attempted to contact McGovney Designs several times, but haven't heard back from him. So, are there any Oklahomans on here that can point me in the right direction for a good builder. Thanks

alrighty, im gonna be making my box soon for my single cab truck. the dementions are (L)36" x (H)27" x (D1)3" x (D2)9". That is cutting it realy close because its 2.291 cubic feet. im going to run 2 kicker 12" compVR's which need 1 cubic foot at a minimum. im making it sealed so i have to make the two chambers, so will that 3/4" wood in between the subs reduce the volume to less than 1 cubic foot?? also, that is going to be right up next to my seat and i can't move it anymore closer (i'll be kissing the wheel) do i have to change the depth so it won't hit my seat???

Ok, today was the first time ina long while that I have built a box away from my old shop. These are a few things I learned / remembered while building a box today. 1. Measure twice, cut once (this goes for the cuts on the woodas well as the overall size of the enclosure). I made a few bad cuts and ended up building one box too large. Grrr. If you are going to cut it wrong, be sure do it larger than what is needed. 2. A pneumatic or electric brad nailer is the way to go! I was doing it the old fashioned way with a hammer and finishing nails. There was some frustration with bent / broken nails as well as the lack of speed. 3. A jigsaw may cut wood, but it is a far cry fro…

I've been working with bass box pro 6 for probably the past 3 hours or so.... and i just cannot figure it out. I guess its just going to be said that i wont ever be able to know how to properly configure a box lol. For some reason i just cannot grasp the concept/doings of the box programs. So what i need from someone knowledge in the area of box making is, for someone to design a box for me. I havent taken the measurements as of yet, but when I do, i just want to know if someone will be able to help me lol. Here are my plans for the box. 2 15" RE XXX's. Ported. Once i get the measurements, hopefully we'll be able to figure out some numbers figured out on how big the box…

what are your guys top picks for covering your boxes?? I've seen a lot of people using like...truck liner spray. Is this easy to do? or what are your tricks for carpeting a box? Favorite places to buy the carpet? i'm mainly more itnerested in the truck liner idea. I like the idea that it gives, but i've only seen the more professional areas do it. How hard is it for an average box builder?

i want to design a box for my 10in ssds. i kinda wanted to go ported so they require at least .9 of airspace after displacments. the space i have to work with is 53in long 15in tall bottom depth around 11in top around 4in. its going in a standard cab s10 so if anyone has better ideas that would be cool i just kinda wanted to go ported this time instead of sealed but if i cant it aint no problem

So i've been working on box design for my new SA-15's. For external dimensions i have: 32 wide x 20.5 tall x 24 deep for 7.55 cubic feet before port volume or displacement. Wood thickness is .75" Then for a port, i would have the dimensions 30.5" wide , 4" tall and then 18.16" deep. I got the port dimensions from CarStereo.com. According to that site, the box is tuned to 32hz. I was wondering if that was correct or not because i know tons of those sites end up being wrong with tuning. Here's a picture describing my plan. The lines in that picture are parallel... I don't know why the camera says differently. So does that sound alright? If not, can someone please correct m…

Hey well I was wondering if someone could design a box for 2 12" Mmats P2.5 its not for me but a friend and he keeps insisting on buying a prefab box or just having the guy build him one but the audio shops here suck ballz so I was just going to give my friend the design to take to the guy to build you know? Anyway Could you tune it to around 35-40hz or what ever you think would sound good with these subs? Im just tryin to help my friend not get ripped on a prefab.... Thanks!!! I have an 1988 camaro iroc z. I have drawn out a box plan for the box to set on the hump area. the box numbers are 8"h x 22"d x 40"w. Which is 4.07 cu.ft and 3 net. I have 8" clearance for the port. I am roughtly 2" from the glass on the end of the box. with about 6" from the glass in middle - where the subs would be. I haven't built a box or done any figuring on the numbers. Math was never my strong area, lol. I am looking at doing 3 DD 1508 or 2 SSA Icon 10s. Would this box work? What would my port need to be?

DD 3515 Supercharged on an M2b. Im thinking of 4.25 after displacements tuned to 36 hz. This will be a comp vehicle and a decent demo car. Obviously nothing spectacular, i compete in smaller classes. Would like it to still play decent on music. I listen to everything country, rap, rock, 80's-90's metal. Do you guys think 4.25 net to 36hz will be a good combo, ive never played with a 15" before.
