I've seen a lot of topics about resistance so i decided to make topic about this to clear things up. There are 3 ways how to run your dual coil sub. 1) Series connection: you will wire your sub in series. If you connect in series you add resistance. 1+1=2 ohms 2+2=4 ohms 4+4=8 ohms 2) Parallel connection: Hook up your sub in parallel. Making your resistance lower. 1/1+1/1+1/2 = 0.5 ohms 1/2+1/2+1/1 = 1 ohm 1/4+1/4+1/0.5 = 2 ohms 3) Or you can run dual channel amp, 1 coil to 1 channel. Or run 2 amps one amp to one channel. I actually don't recommend this connection, because coils have to be powered equally, you need to make really accurate settings. Hope that this helps yo…

Hello all, i have a large project on my hands. I've been commisioned(somewhat) to build a box for a 12" Orion H2. Now, the box is gonna be 2.5 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Now, for those of you who own mustangs, you know how small the trunk opening is(this kid has a mustang cobra, not the newest body style, but one from probably the late '90s) and i just need all the tips i can get on putting this box in. Most likely i'm going to have to build it IN the trunk, so any tips will be greatly appreciated. Unless you guys know of another way to get a box big enough in there. Also, i may have to hook up all the stuff for his amp. Any help there would also be appreciated(hole locati…

I just hooked up two 12" dual 2 ohm Ascendant Audio Havocs powered by a sundown audion saz -2500 amplifier in my 2004 dodge ram quad quab in a bassforms box. Before this i had two 12 inch kicker cvr powered by a cheap 2500 watt ssl amp. The problem im having is first i think one of the subs is busted, it sounds like a voice coil it rattles as if its not tight until you hold the sub down, when you push on the dust cap off it it rattles profusely so i think i may need to send it back. My second problem is my setup is no louder then it was before. i mean its loud but i expected it to be a decent level louder then it was. I have my subs hooked up to produce a 1 ohm load. My …

  9. Sealed my box with resin, waited 5 days before I mounted my sub and put the box in my trunk, got in the car the next day and could smell the resin. It wasn't super strong but I could definitely smell it. can the fumes damage my sub? Is the fact that I can still smell it a sign I didn't mix the resin and hardener correctly? It has been cold lately so maybe it isn't curing properly? Should I be concerned?

  10. I currently have an iPhone and eventually I'm going to ditch it for something else. I'm undecided at the moment as to what I want to actually get, but its probably going to be a Samsung or Sony Ericsson music phone. ANYWAYS I have a DEH-P600UB and it has a USB cable, with an iPod cable in-line with it. I hook up my iPhone to the iPod cable and I control all my music from the head unit. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has tried this with a phone other than an iPhone and has been able to control their music through their head unit. I don't want to use the AUX port, I didn't even bother hooking up a cable to it. You all probably know what I mean just from the title but…

  11. My friend has an 04 infiniti fx 35 and wanted to know if it is possible for him to keep his stock radio which Is a bose system on a stock 300 watt amp and just change the sub, is this possible or will he have to change out the amp too? Is it that easy, can he just replace both the amp and sub and keep the same radio? he is just looking for more bass to add to his system. I believe it has 11 speakers and 2 subs.

Anyone have the Pioneer 3200BT HU? I have had mine for over a year now and I just recently bought the aux in/usb cable to play video from my ipod. Except there is one problem. . . I can't figure out how to get video to play on the HU, I have looked on the unit manual online and the video portion appears to be for a 3200DVD and when I am just using my Ipod it will play the music video's, but once I plug it into my HU I can get audio but no video. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello everyone, I am designing my own box and was hoping someone could review it. Goal was no smaller than 4 cu ft. Its an 18" Treo SSX rebuilt by PSI. Treo recommended 50cu in. of port, BUT i told them I was using aero ports and they still recommended the same..? I was always under the impression they didnt need as much port? This design is 1x 8" port = 50 cu in. I can't figure out another configuration to hit 40 cu in, if 50 is to much. Tuned to about 35hz. (see attached) Any help is appreciated Sketchup for box.skp

  23. I have the least amount of knowledge when it comes to car audio systems, and that is why I have to ask you the following 4 questions. I would GREATLY appreciate any answers. 1) I just want to replace the speakers with better ones as I don’t want to drill holes in the door panel for tweeters. Does that mean that I have to buy “coaxial” speakers, instead of “component” speakers? 2)Assume that the price for the following 4 brands are the same . What brand would you choose? MB Quart, Polk Audio, Alpine, JBL 3) Whichever brand you just chose from above, can you please recommend your model preference? MB Quart - Discus 2-Way Car Speakers with Mica-Filled Poly Con…

I myself have klipsch 5.1's for my computer and my dad has about 6 klipsch speakers in the house. Well I was wanting to know what's good to buy for a 5.1 setup?
