Hey guys I've been searching around trying to find the answer to this question with no luck. I've seen plenty of topics/build logs where subs are being inverted but no real how-to on the wire aspect which brings me to my question. Do I have to do anything special to the wiring if I want to invert my subs? I slightly remember reading something about needing to change the polarity. Is this true? If so, is there a setting on the amp or do I just switch the neg/pos wires on the amp? This would be the first time I'm trying this. The reason I want to do it is the baskets on my Nightshades are the oldschool sexy chrome and my box is a little on the small side. I hear running the…

alright guys well i think my stock civic door speakers finally had enough of my abuse. They are 5 1/4iches, my door panel is really shallow on my civic so im kinda limited on what i can stick in there. also when i first got my honda the speakers sounded like crap and hardly got loud. Once i put in my new h/u they sounded 10x better and got really loud, so im pron going to not use an amp for now as i dont think i need one. So i need some nice pretty shallow speakers maybe no more depth then 2 1/4 inches. What would you gets recommend that around 25-35 wrms that sound nice and get loud. Anything will be takin into account. Thanks guys

Well I got a second battery it's a duralast gold from autozone it says wet cell sealed, I have a second space under my hood where my truck uses the same body as the diesel but is a gas burner. I would have to custom fab a bracket to hold it there, but could I just use it inside my truck? Is that safe I've heard they vent hydrogen on non sealed I just want to blow my self up haha is anyone else done this?

My buddy wants to know how he can wall his ford ranger with 15s He has a 2003 Ford Ranger Ext Cab 4x4 lifted 5" and 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers. He already took out his rear seats and stuff and has a custom box tuned to 36hz with a 12" Fi Q on a SAE 1000. He's ready to upgrade.. He just wants an idea. Hes budget-minded so nothing too expensive I suggested 4 SA 15s on two SAZ 1500. Or one SAZ 3000. He hasn't upgraded his alternator but he has done the big 3 and has 2 kinetik HC 2400s with 1/0 kicker wiring on everything. His question is what's a good budget wall for his truck. Let's say budget at $5000. Thanks !

I am looking into purchasing a 15" DC level 4 XL or AA Mayhem. If I choose the DC, I have two wiring options. I have a 2400 watt amp at 1 ohm and 1700 at 2 ohms. How much difference does wiring a sub at 2 ohms make vs wiring it at 1 ohm? Would 1700 watts at 2 ohms be enough to get the DC going or should I just stick to 1 ohm?

I have a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT and was hoping to get some input from everyone on three specific things. 1. The mic for the Bluetooth isn't that great everyone I've talked to with it, say that I sound "far away" and I want to know if anyone knows of any mic's that can pick up your voice easily so the person you're talking to can easily hear you? 2. What would be a great backup camera that I could get for this unit? 3. Will this Ipod cable work the same as the Pioneer cable ? I want to be able to watch videos off of my Ipod onto the HU, but I'm not sure if the Ipod cable will do this, I noticed that the Pioneer version of this cable looks a lot thicker so I didn't know if the…

So I've had my setup for a bit now... I am currently powering my front stage with a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... Sounds great and strong... Only issue is that when I set the gain between the 8v and 4v setting (closer to the 4v setting) the speakers seem to emit a static/hiss noise when paused or during quiet segments past the volume of 30 which I'm almost always at ... I've pretty much noticed if the amplifier gain setting is at 8v it is perfect but very very low.... Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have this tweeter set in the dash and this 6x9 set in the doors ... So the amplifier is currently seeing a 2 ohm load.... Should I ditch that setup and get …

SO today I finished up adding the HC800 to the rear of my car... I have an issue... Before I did this work my system consisted of a JL 500/1 and BA GT2-125 and a 2 farad capacitor.. Knowing that it wasn't really helping I had been planning since late last year to remove it and either put a battery or just go straight to the amps through the distro block... So... I removed the capacitor yesterday and finished off the wiring today.... I now have a static/whine/ somewhat gets more defined and higher in pitch when going from idle to actually driving.. It does not increase with music volume which is good but it is there when paused or playing or even 0 volume so I know it wasn…

Here I go again with the hairtrick thread lol. But just curious again. Are hairtricks done based on cone area or power? I'm thinking both because you need more cone area to push more air but what's the point of more cone area without the power? Enlighten me guys with your experience and knowledge and what you guys recommend for me to do hairtricks on a budget. I'm thinkin a 15" SA-15 and a SAE 1000 as my system for the year. Not expecting hairtricks but what mods do you guys think I should do , add another sub, amp etc. Thanks guys.

How much 1/0 should I buy for the van? I was thinking about replacing the runs already in the van with new wire, so what 100' power and like 25' ground? Also, how thick speaker wire would you use for roughly 1000w per woofer? I figured 10awg speaker wire should suffice just fine. Although 8awg could happen if needed.

Does anyone know or have imfo on which full size four door pickup has the most room under the rear seat? Or which one is easier to install subs under rear seat? Looking at 2008 and newer. I'm shopping for trucks and what subs and equipment that will fit plays a big role in the decision.

Ok, don't want to start any kind of drama here, lol. Just want to inform those who don't know. The Steve Meade Distortion Detector has a price listed for "less" then 139$ each. I'm guessing 138.99$ If you don't know what this product is, here is the info for it provided by his youtube channel. Also, I don't own any rights for this or any of the following information given. lol, I don't want any kind of legal trouble from the man. Just informing the community. "Ever wonder how to set your amp gains properly? Do you just turn them up till its loud enough for you and call it done? Do you turn them up all the way...... or do you tell your boys "my amp is ONLY up 1/4 of the w…

  21. Hey all. The time has finally come for me to enter my first comp tomorrow. I will be in a 2001 galant and my setup will be 2 American Bass XD 12's, a planet audio BB2 2400 rms 3000 max sub amp and (don't laugh) a dual 4 channel amp for my mids which are brand X. I know this setup is really crappy to most of you but I have worked hard to get it this way and it doesn't sound half bad. I don't really care how I do or anything I just really don't want to embarrass myself when I show up. I will take pics if I can and let you guys know how it went. Can't wait!!!! W00T

of course i have 2 8ohm speakers that are less then 150 watts... and i need to run them 4 ohm stereo on the amp, i remember seeing somthing befor that you run inline to propose a ohm load to the amp, so im guessing i will need, two 4 ohm dummy loads,=4 ohm at the amp, or two 6 ohm dummy loads =2 ohms at the amp i can run this amp at 4 ohm stereo or 2 ohm stereo,. i have seen a few things on parts express... but not too sure what exacty i need... so someone that has used these be for would be great! thanks
