I'm looking to go with a 6th order bandpass for the rebuild in my car, so I'm looking at designs on youtube, this BEAST has caught my eye: Anyone got any sort of info on this??

Well I was searching everywhere for an amp the would give me over 800x1 RMS for my HT woofer project. I really wanted an amp with a passive cooling solution, but the ones available with the kind of power I wanted were out of my budget. My solution is in the form of a Carver PM-900 amp. It is a live sound amp by design, but I hope to tweak it into a quiet HT amp for my passive sub. I went with Carver because the amp in my car that powers my components is a Carver made in '87 and it sounds very very nice. So about 4 months ago i bought Two Pioneer TS-d1720c Speakers and i had them wired directly to my headunit, They worked great but everyone told me to buy an aftermarket amp and they will sound a lot better. So about a month later i decided to buy the Alpine MRV-F300 amp to wire my speakers too. I got everything hooked up to the new amp but for some reason i felt like my speakers sound better when they were wired to the headunite instead of the new amp ( //Example// I felt like my bass coming from my speakers sounded a lot fuller when they were wired to my headunite. When i had them wired to my aftermarket amp, The bass was kinda flat) . I asked 100 questions on a few …

Im not trying to make this another one of those Vs threads. But i do have some questions concerning extra batteries as the pertain to my application. I will be running 100.2 and 2 Sundown 1500d's. Would it be more beneficial for me to pick up 2 Deka Intimidator 9A31's or to go ahead and get a Kinetic 2400( or 2000 depending on what i can find). Any comments will be greatly appreciated. What all are you guys using? I'm looking for a decent alarm. Nothing too expensive. Vehicle doesn't have power doors/windows, so don't need something too special. I really, really don't like dealing with alarms. I detest alarms. Glass breaking sensors are good ... and I don't mind if it chirps if someone bumps into it.

So i read that in can causes fires as to why you must use a fuse but will it do anything else? Such as fry other electrical componets in your car?

I see that there are a shit ton of abreviations for specs about subs. for example: fs qms qes qts mms cms sd vas spl bl My question is, when designing a box are there any one of these numbers i should pay attension to when deciding volume and tuning? -Thanks

i dont get how you are supposed to be able to use the two ohm option on most four channels amps. mostly the speakers usd for front stage come in 4ohm and they are not dvc so if i run them in parrallel two sets of speakers would be runnin at 1ohm each right? i know there are 2ohm 6.5 speakers out there but its like searchin for a ghost. and i have never seen a dvc 6.5. besides i have enough 6.5's layin around to last for a lifetime. so how do you get the most out of a four channel amp that does say 75x4 @4ohm and 125@2ohm?

I've been trying to explain to this guy on EvolutionM.Net that there is no such thing as a break in period for amplifiers. He says the transistor crystal's chemical composition changes slightly since they are made and don't see power until the consumer buys it(I assumed that from a comment or 2 he made). I realized I don't have much factual proof in my handds for my arguement. Are there any tests/ studied someone could point me to to further my side? I have a planet audio ac400.1d mono block amp and want a subwoofer around 1000 watts rms that's not to expensive .. I found an audiopipe txx bd3 12 for $147 and also saw a Massive Audio toro x 12 for $185.. Don't kno which one to get .. Should I just get the audiopipe or save a little more money up for the massive toro x 12?

Hey guys, just a simple question and looking for some opinions on how the quality of a music file on a USB flash drive compares to, lets say an Ipod via USB connection. What are your thoughts? And are there any noticeable differences?

What is more important to place deadner on? The outer layer of the door? Or the inner metal where the speaker mounts?

so i was wondering its easier for me to make payments over a period of time than it is to save the money to buy quality like sundown or fi. do any of these companies do that?

Inside: Outside: As you can see from the inside picture, the sides have openings, and there is about a half inch gap between the heatsinks and the top panel. I'm considering a new enclosure that would sit over the top panel, it would likely cover up all the heatsinks. I know the sides being open will help, but since heat rises, and the enclosure would be directly above the heatsinks, think I'll run into any issues?

I have no headunit, no need for a $50 harness but after having no chimes for the first time today I realized this means no blinker noise or low gas warning. I'd like to restore that, but it would be the ONLY output I'd need from the harness making me not want to buy one. Of course, if the signal is only over the CAN bus and has no analog counterpart it'll cost me something, but was curious if anyone has rednecked a good solution? And yes, I'll still have a stereo in the Escalade (2010) but it'll be a carputer and no headunit.

Hey guys, Im new to SSA and car audio in general. I have been doing a little bit of research but would like to have other opinions. My question is in your opinion what is the best deck, speaker, and amp set up for around 500. Sorry if i am a noob but i had to ask. I am getting really tired of the speakers i have now in my Jeep Liberty, they absolutely suck and i have to iPod hook-up so it is time to get some new equipment. im currently at a stand still with my build. i fabbed up a amp rack last night, but it just doesnt look as clean as i was wanting it. if there is anybody that can possibly show me some pictures of their amp racks, it would be greatly appreciated. im looking for more sleek clean finish. (round over edges, plexiglass over amp,,etc) just looking for ideas. forgot to mention, i have 2 soundstream tarantula 1000d going behind each seat in my reg. cab silverado
