First time on this website and im glad i found it. Looks like there are lots of knowledgeable people here. I plan to do a total makeover on my stock system in my toyota 4runner. I have many ideas but nothing for sure. Here is what I have been planning: - 6.5" Focal 165 KP for the front - Alpine SPR-13C coaxials for the rear. - Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Amp - Either two JL Audio 12W6v2-D4 or one JL Audio 13W7 - I was thinking some sort of alpine or power acoustics amp to power the subs. I could desperately use some opinions on this setup. I listen to all types of music so i want decent sound quality. For the most part the subs are going to be at a decent lev…

Im getting a new setup. 2 Fi Bl 15s and a 3000D. I plan on rewiring everything, doing the big 3, etc. Would i get dual 2 or dual 1 ohm? How would i wire this for both performance and daily use, IE: how many ohms stable and such. What options would i want on the subs, such as cooling, universal. Thanks, Drake

Hey guys I stopped by a local car audio shop today and talked with a salesmen for almost an hour. 90% of their products are Kenwood and he swears by them. He had a lot to say and I was just wondering if it was true because there were some things I have never heard. He said that running an amp at 1 ohm is a bad idea because the sound quality drops significantly. He also said that you should spend more on your box than on your subs because the box is responsible for 75% of your bass. He also had very little good to say about Fi or sundown but that scosche is a very well respected for their sub woofers and amps I don't know if any of it is true or not but if you guys have an…

I have no headunit, no need for a $50 harness but after having no chimes for the first time today I realized this means no blinker noise or low gas warning. I'd like to restore that, but it would be the ONLY output I'd need from the harness making me not want to buy one. Of course, if the signal is only over the CAN bus and has no analog counterpart it'll cost me something, but was curious if anyone has rednecked a good solution? And yes, I'll still have a stereo in the Escalade (2010) but it'll be a carputer and no headunit.

does anyone put a fuse between your subs and amp? just wondering because i used to have some g5's and they had fuses to hook them up at 8 ohms or 2 ohms. "seen several other woofers with fuse systems like some jvc's" just wondering is it a good idea to fuse them or bad idea?

I have a kinda small box for a ported 6 1/2" Bose woofer. It sounds alright, but i can't fit much more in the bag. I was wondering if polyfill would have somehat of the same effect in a ported box as it would in a sealed box. I did want to ask the difference in effect, between stuffing and padding, because i have heard of both being used. I am looking to shift the tuning down a little bit.

I just recently bought 2 Sundown Audio sa-15 dual 4 ohm coils. I absolutely love them. I put them in a 7^3 foot box tuned at 35 hz and they get stupid loud. I was wondering what type of amp to get for them? I'm currently running an mtx 81001d @ 1 ohm but i feel like they want more power. I was looking at getting an SAZ-1500D V.2 but i'm always open to better amps. Any input would be great. Help??

I've been going back and forth on what to do with these midrange speakers I bought. I had planned to build a 3 way component set. I have a memphis m class 6.5 with focal 1" tweeter and a focal cross over I was going to use up front. But I'm thinking of mounting the closed back mid range on the door with a mounting ring. Running the comp set in factory locations with crossover off the front channel and midrange off the rear channel with a rca split from the front. It's fq response is 300hz-8khz I beleive without going out to look. Using the amps cross over to set it at 300hz, and running the comp set off the front channel crossed at 80, and lastly the sub (vfl 8) crossed a…

Quote: This post is for the individuals that are interested in knowing about why DC Power has had issues and how we’re working to correct them. I am honestly very frustrated with people that I have never heard of starting comments on any kind of social website. If you've been waiting an ungodly amount of time or know someone that has been, call our 951-509-5617 numbers, and speak to someone about this. Or, feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected]. I will be completely honest with everyone, not too long, we were extremely disorganized from growing at a rate that has been over 200%+ growth year after year. During this time, we also had some deals with some…

Here is what i have and what i am trying to do. I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 with 7 speakers from Factory (3 on the dash, front doors, and rear deck). I have 4 sets of Kenwood Components that i wish to install in addition to the 7. I will be replacing the 7 factory speakers with 7 Kenwood so i can keep the sound consistent. My Idea is to install a pair of speakers into the back doors. I am in the process of making a new custom fiberglass Rear deck which has holes for the Original speakers and a slot in the center for 1 component set. I am going to build a new center storage compartment so that i can place my last component set there. What i am looking to do with wiring is t…

What makes your setup hit your chest hard? Is it the RMS amount? Box Tuning? Sub? What would be the best way to get the hard hitting, urghh my chest bass (: I have an Fi SSD 15(copper coil), just built the box , tuned to 33hz, 3.44 cubic ft. Powerd by a hifonics 1206d. Box is built just waiting on the Sub to come in the mail. If this setup isn't going to do it, then thats alright. But what is this build good for?

WOOOHOOOO!!!!! WOW, so excited. Well, Jason (UndercoverPunk on caraudio.com) came over yesterday at about 1 p.m. to help me out on some deadening. Deadener was SecondSkin Damplifier and SecondSkin Spectrum. After borrowing my truck from the mechanic's (Just got a whole new transmission, 3 weeks later...problems... thank god for 3 year warranty) We took it home and began to strip it down. Took All the seats, body panels, and carpet out. There are AT LEAST 2 layers of Damplifier EVERYWHERE seen (sometime 3 layers). Spectrum didn't get used yet....MAYBE i'll put the full gallon on the floor next time. Here's a pic of a *few* things in the bed of the truck... After about…
