Just a general question for clarification. I have a single dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired to 1 ohm. If I connect it to 2 1 ohm amps that are strapped, will the sub still see 1 ohm or 2? If it is still 1 ohm, does this mean that the amps will be running at .5 ohms each?

I may have been sleeping, but I don't recall seeing them before. http://rcamobile.com/ Appears RCA has come out with a line of 12V mobile products. I'm kind of intrigued. Their other products are geared more towards the affordable end of the price spectrum and are of reasonable build quality. If these follow suit, I would expect atleast the electronics to be a decent alternative for the budget minded individual.

Short story, bought a new amp locally, it makes my subs murderlize my back window (SUV) About how much did you guys spend on deadening? I'm thinking of doing my front doors, the driver's and passenger's floors and the back hatch. I've never done this before so I don't know how much of anything I need and really don't wanna overkill. I will get some measurements this weekend but I'm just looking for input right now. Probably gonna use SDS unless somebody comes in with something cheaper that's butyl and effective.

  8. This truck was owned/built/operated by my good friend since, 2003. I've been a part of it, since 2008. Has seen MANY, MANY builds. Truck hasn't been under a 160 in almost 10 years at this point. I have the chance to buy it, and bring it back into the game. It's NOT, the prettiest, but I'll be cleaning it up alot. And I'll get it louder than it ever was before. Last setup was 4 DD 9918' Super Charged on 4 DD M4's with 8 NSB 90's. Burped at 162.2@51Hz with 16,000w Street Beated 159.9 dropping to 11v Also did, 159.0@25Hz 159.7@28HZ And 160+ from 30Hz-60Hz My plan is 4 DD9918' Super Charged on 4 M4b's with 4 XS Power Lithium 12v batts. I will be taking delivery of…

Tomorrow i will be buying a 1990 Honda CRX, for Street A. The CRX is to replace my 92 Honda Civic, pictures can be found at www.team-bio.com. I realized that my Civic isnt going to get any louder than it is. Currently it is at 143.1, but might have changed as i did something yesterday and havent played with it. Anyways, Im going to be trying to get into the 48s in Street A with my crx. What I will be running in the car for the system is basically going to be all my stuff outta my …

Has anyone ever had a chance to hear a set of Perfect8's? Was just doing a search on glass speaker enclosures as I think a BTL with a TI basket would look obscene in a lexan or glass enclosure, however impractical; and I ran across Perfect8. They are gorgeous, especially the Force; and knowing youtube can do any speaker no justice, I was curious if they really live up to that offensive price tag. http://www.perfect8.com/force.htm

I got done (for now) sound deadening my truck today, and when testing, I noticed there was still a bit of a rattle coming from some unknown location. I put my hand on a bunch of metal panels, sat on the box, nothing. Finally, I decided I would wait till daylight to really diagnose the problem. Later, I put a shirt over the port to see how much air was moving... The sound stopped. I removed the shirt, it started again. Did it a couple more times and the same thing happened... Am I missing something, or do I just need to dress up ( ) my box for it to want to work properly? I'm stumped.

Hey guys Im in need of some advice. I'm currently piecing together a setup which will be in a Trailblazer SS. So far I have my two BL 15s fully loaded (newer versions), JL 0/1 awg, and will be powered by a Crescendo BC3500d. I plan on buying a mechman 240 alt, xs power 3400 for under the hood and 3100 for out back. I'll probably have car tunes build my since they did a great job last time. I'm aware I should be running dual 0/1 for the batteries so I will but what else am I missing or should also do? Currently have 12 awg for the subs, should I go bigger? Also will my battery setup work fine at idle without crazy voltage drop? What about dual amp inputs? Any help and advi…

Simple question i can't find the answer to. So, if i have an amp that does 100w per channel, does the 100 get split between tweet, and mid? will the mid and tweet both get 100w or would the 100w be split between them?

So i just got my ascendant audio havocs. I went with 2 12 inch dvvc at 2 ohms each. I thought i would be able to run a amp that makes power at 2 ohms but i dont think i can im lost on what to look for. Im not really looking for what specific brand (although that would be nice) i just dont want it to turn into a argument of whose better, but more of what things in an amp i should be looking for to properly run this amp. Such as 1 ohm stable, 2 ohm stable, etc. because im lost. Im running a alpine cda-117 headunit if that matters.

I just bought a used JL Audio cleansweep and installed it tonight, but I do not have the calibration cd. If anyone happens to have the CD, could you rip it for me and email it to me. I think the only track I need is #1. My email addy is [email protected]. I would be most appreciative. I know that I can get the CD from JL, but I would like to have the track as soon as possible. Thanks so much!

  18. I'm planning a build of 1 Fi BTL N2 18s off of two Crescendo BC3500s walled off in my truck, and I'm using the Torres Speaker Box Tuning Calculator. I'm wondering exactly what the "# of Common Port Walls" option means. I understand that it refers to how many sides of the box are going to act as sides of the port, but I don't know why the back of the box isn't considered a side of the box. I have about 52" of width to work with, so I'm looking for the port to be 50.5 inches wide, so it would span across the entire top of the box. I've been messing around a little bit with some of my options and I'm not quite sure what the option I mentioned is referring to. If someone coul…

just finished putting a memphis pr10 in a 1ft^3 box, tuned to about 37-38 hz ( i lenghtened the port 3/4" ofer the recommended, which would have been 40hz), being pushed by a memphis pr140...yep, a whooping 70 wrms!! anyway...ummmm..WOW! while not a spl monster, it is loud! i am definitely going to have to find a 200-250 wrms amp and see what happens! some pics soon...i didn't take pics of the build, but i will take some of the semi finished box ( i will carpet it gray in a week or so).. it's also very musical.i am indeed impressed. maybe it was thinking how loud it wouldn't be,it is just 70 wrms and check my sig to see what i'm used too, that i set myself up for failure.…

So I am going to do a new audio install on a '00 mercedes e320 and I'd like to run it by this crew to see if anyone has any suggestions. I am not very experienced at car audio but i am convinced that with a set of Crutchfeild mastersheet instructions and the help from a friend who has done several installs i can do it. So heres the setup. Head Unit: Alpine iDA x305s with the PXA h100 imprint processor along with the KTX h100 to get it set up (this is extremely intriguing to me and I want to try it any opinions on wether I should get it or not?) Component Speakers (front only): Image Dynamics CTX 65cs Speaker amp: Sundown Audio SAX 125.2 Subwoofer: 15" Fi BL (still looking…

i hooked up 2 PSI 18S and 2 Soundstream tx1.2000d amps. Gains and freq levels were set the same on each paired amp n sub. The first lil while i played it, everything worked fine. then all the sudden i notice one sub were playing lower than the other. wtf right...checked the impedance on the coils and they check out fine. So over the last few weeks ive done everything i can think of from checking connections, swapping subs around, new rca cables, even thought it might be the bass knobs, and still one of the amps is putting out less power. I can tell there is an issue because when i play a test tone, what ever sub is hooked to that amp suffers especially in the low range 20…

I just bought a brand new Ram 1500 crew cab and I'm looking for ideas as far as the sub is concerned. Has anyone here done an install in a crew cab? I really don't want to go the shallow sub route. I would really like to find a way to keep my Icon 10. I realize that ported is out of the question so sealed will do. I was thinking about building a box to fit on the floor hump between the back seats. then I have to figure out how to mount 2 big a/b amps under the rear seat. Any thoughts?
