Hey guys my name is Alex I'm 17 and have been very addicted to car audio my whole life even hooking them up in my room etc. However I have a 1994 Buick Lesabre currently running 2 12" kicker comps in a sealed box doing barely 110 dbs which to alot of people is very low so I want to upgrade to 1 15" fi btl fully loaded dual 2 ohm to wire it at 1 ohm p chamfer, cooling, hixmcoil, daily, i heat ring, non universal, white dust cap were the options I thought were the best ones. Well, I Pmed jack frost the other night asking him about home audio. I don't know hardly anything about it other than Klipsch speakers are very good. I myself have klipsch 5.1's for my computer and my dad has about 6 klipsch speakers in the house. Well I was wanting to know what's good to buy for a 5.1 setup? By buddy keeps saying that before aq sold there name the sub was 1100. I never have heard of this. And he swears they was. So if this is true how much would my 18 be then?

I will be running a sundown 1500 and a 2 channel (not sure which one yet) off a stock alternator and a powermaster d1200. I already have 4 gauge ran from a previous instal with 80a inline fuse. 1) Can I just leave the existing 4 gauge and use that for the 2 channel and just run an additional fused 1/0 for the Sundown or is there an easier way to go about this? 2)Is it ok to run two fused power wires off the same battery? 3) If I have to get a distribution block, which one should I get? I heard Knukonceptz' are hard to work with. I already have a kicker 1/0 kit on the way but I don't think the distribution block in the kit will fit my needs. Thanks guys

Can somebody explain what it is and what does it do?

I was giving a friend a demo, nothing outrageous, basically just how I listen to it daily. In the middle of it, the bass got real quiet... I look back and I saw one (didn't see the other) sub was going crazy excursion. I start to smell a very bad burning smell coming, like big time, so something definitely happened. I check the amp, it's not hot, nor is smoke coming out, and the smell isn't really coming from the amp. I get home, my amp is sitting at 1.9 ohms (usually always .7 ohm), then check my subs: Coil 1&2: 1. imp was fluctuating like crazy 2. Coil was jumping a little between 1.7 to 1.9. Coil 3&4: 3. imp was fluctuating like crazy. 4. Couldn't even get …

I'm looking to get an alternator for my durango 03, i found a few sites, but I wanted to expand my options. One I liked was Mean Grean, If you know of any other brands and where to get em from that would be awesome. I'm gonna be powering a 15" MA audio hk15x2 @ 2000 watts rms lanzar amp. I need at least 250 amp alternator to 300. thanks in advance.

So one of my friends is selling his CR-X to one of our buddies. But he keeps bein a prick bout it. So he's gonna sell me his Rex. She's nothin special. its a 1990 Si. Which i'm excited about. But the body is rusted to piss. And she'll need quite a lot of work even to just become road worthy. But she runs. Since i'm wanting to upgrade my truck soon. This will probably be where the Q and aq1200 go to. Maybe something a lil more efficient. Not sure yet. well ive had my sub since oct. and have been very happy with it untill recently it just seems like it was deff. louder a couple weeks ago. so i got the sub and pulled it out of my box to give it a once over beccause i dont have any meters of any kind. so i looked through the vents at the coil and it looked ok i guess was not all black. when you push on it, it make no scratching noise or any thing but seems alot looser than when new? and on the back of the magnet it has this (pit type things on it kinda looks like rust but its not brown its silver) stuff i got a pic but dont kow how to get it here its saved to my pictures can i get some help

on my way home last night i noticed that 1 of my 4 sets of comps wasn't working. so i was getting no volume out of the tweeter or the mid bass. I quickly realized it was channel 3 (front right). here is what i did: First I checked the resistance of the speakers and i got an ohm reading of 4ohm each speaker (mid/high) • so this tells me that the speakers are fine Second I check the output of the amp by putting my dmm in voltages A/C • I then compared the output of the channel 3 with the other channels and i got the same amount of output on all channels • so this ruled out my amp as an issue Next i put the dmm in ohm, and check the wires going into the amp leading to th…

Im thinking about running 2 american bass xfls at 1 ohm off of the kicker amp good idea i know its not but will it work? edit the subs only come in dual 4 ohm VCs

Hello SSA it has been a while! I just recently purchased a '12 mustang base model and I really need to upgrade the audio soon before I go insane. The problem is if I want to run any kind of aftermarket head unit I have to buy a $300 dash kit just to put another radio in due to the climate control and radio controls being in one panel. So by the time I get a nice double din and a dash kit it will be $600 easy. I was thinking of just running a LOC out of the factory unit and plugging that into a rockford 5-channel on some sundown components and maybe a sa12. My main question is if the LOC gets the signal from the speakers that are coming from the head unit and I replace the…

Hi I am working on a school project showing the most extreme end of car audio. Meaning not your basic radio and door speakers. I will be covering everything from the difference in products and competitions. The time limit is 8 minutes to present so I will not be going into fiber glassing or anything like that. So i really am stumped, i dont know how to start my install. I am putting a 15" Fi BTL in my 06 4Runner. For an amp im deciding between an audioque 2200D or an Sundown 1500D, which would be more suited for my car, its battery is 12.8v and the alt puts out a wopping 75. I assume il need to prob get better electrical, i will do the big 3 in 0ga but i dont know if itll help. So basicly i dont know where to start, should i buy subs first or amp or both, Or even wire, i assume i need 0ga any other kinds? i have an FI sp4 15 in a 2007 nissan altima and recently i tried moving my box around to fire forward like a sealed off trunk. I put it as close to the cab as i could and put pillows and sheets all around the box stuffing it as well as i could, and it wasnt as loud (sounding) as firing it towards the trunk. i then folded my back seats closed and put my box in the cab on the seats so that it was completely sealed off from the trunk ( i have a small box and plan on getting a bigger better one) i tested it out and it was even quieter, like a lot quieter, it had less pressure on the ears, less airflow and everything. im looking at replaceing my stock speakers with a set of CADENCE SOUND SYSTEMS CWM 6 KIT COMPONENT SPEAKER SYSTEM in the front and a set of Cadence Cadence Flash 5.25" 2-way Speakers for the rear the problem is i never heard them or of the name before are they any good? or should i shop around for some kappa's i want a good sound inside the car.
