So looking into amps to power my speakers and tweeters but Im wondering if the high/low pass filters vs the frequency response of the amp actually affects the speakers and tweeters. Since the High pass is only 50-200Hz does this affect anything. Example Im looking into the 2010 Kicker zx350.4 Variable high-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 12 dB/octave) Variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 12 dB/octave) Frequency response: 20-20000 Hz Speakers: MB Quart DKG 168 (DKG168 Tweeter: MB Quart PTK 40 (PTK40

im planning to build 4 15" RE SRX on a toyota 1983 corolla DX.. the car is very small, and for me to fit them is to build a wall.. the car was used for racing and is in pretty bad shape.. so what i did to make fit the 4 15" was to make a new flat form for the boxes to stand on.. a new rear wall to have a flat surface.. now im building the box for the 4 15s.. the problem is. the car its self is pretty small.. and for me to build an independent box for the each 15 and go ported i need a bigger space but it seems i can only get 1.8 cubic ft. for each 15s. so i plan to go sealed on the 15s 2 subs in one common chamber.. what would cause these subwoofers to have cancellation? …

Here is what i have and what i am trying to do. I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 with 7 speakers from Factory (3 on the dash, front doors, and rear deck). I have 4 sets of Kenwood Components that i wish to install in addition to the 7. I will be replacing the 7 factory speakers with 7 Kenwood so i can keep the sound consistent. My Idea is to install a pair of speakers into the back doors. I am in the process of making a new custom fiberglass Rear deck which has holes for the Original speakers and a slot in the center for 1 component set. I am going to build a new center storage compartment so that i can place my last component set there. What i am looking to do with wiring is t…

i like ambient stuff, plus i love bass. techmaster peb is my hero if any of yall can remember that name a lot of my favorite songs by him were really smooth and musical. i try to make my stuff like that (musical that is) here is a couple of tracks i made with fruity loops. i figured i'd share and see what yall think. i don't have a production studio and i am not trying to go into business or anything, just love music, i figured since i saw sombody sharing his hard work maybe i could share mine also. beware i put a lot of low frequency tones in most of my songs! please dont be too harsh, i worked hard on these, i'm not a computer whiz it took a lot of my time to make th…

well here's the deal. I've been into music production and recording engineering for a few years now. I've just recently got the idea to incorporate these skills into my car audio hobby. I'm posting a song below which I produced myself that peaks around 43-48 hz. I know it's not quite as low as most of you like to pound to, but hey it's my first attempt at making one of these. I'd like to get some feedback from you guys as to what you think I should do as far as going about making these tracks. I'd love to continue making them for the fellow members to use in their demo's/videos. If you guys could check out the song, download it and try it out and leave some feedback and/…

Alright well to start, I'm an experienced music producer/recording engineer. I'm starting to incorporate my music into my car audio hobby. I've been making a few bass tracks to test out and demo with in my car. My question: What's a good program to use to find peak frequencies in a song? I'm going to start finding this out in my bass songs and posting them up here on the forum for people to use and test out. Also, I'd like some feedback, and maybe videos of people using them.

Here is the TEMPORARY setup: 04 Audi S4 Deck: stock, low signal outputs converted to RCA with Soundgate LOC.22 Highs: stock components, 2ohm each Subs: (2) Crystal CPE 8" in rear deck, infinite baffle, 8 ohm woofers Amps: (2) Sony XM2252HX. One is on the highs, high current mode @ 1ohm/channel. One is on the subs, high current mode @ 4ohm bridged My question is, the subs bottom out real bad...worse than my stock 8 and at less amount of volume. I still need to seal up a major leak from the trunk to the cabin, which I will be taking care of tomorrow but that should only fix the volume portion. Considering they are just 8's, should I just run the built in amplifier high pass…

I was talking to a friend of mine earlier who is a frequent SSA user, and he suggested i ask the community. So here's what I want. In general, I want my car to sound as clear and full as my home theater system (5.1 with a Polk CS1, pair of Monitor40's, and bookshelf speakers in the back with a Polk 10" sub). It was suggested to me to get a pair Bravox components (here: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Bravox-Audio-CS60K-Components.html ), but I like having full "surround sound", and i would like to have a pair of 6x9's as well, which my friend suggested were unnecessary. (I also drive a lot of people to and from places so it'd be nice to allow them to lis…

Hey all. I was just wondering how you guys listen to your music in your ride. Right now I'm using my iPod and a AUX cable. I just started using my iPod. I used to use my flash drive and actually I'm thinking about going back to the flash drive because it's easier to use for me. I personally don't like CD's because you have to take them out and put another one in when you want to listen to something different. So, what do you guys prefer?

Alright I need your help again...but this time i did some research before so hopefully my questions shouldn't anger anyone. I have been doing some research on the history of car audio subwoofers and the progression of technological advances with wiring amplifiers and other stuff. But could someone please help me make a short version of it. I need to creat a section for my imc plan. Not quite sure what to include in it. lik i want to start with the first sub-woofer..how did it work....then explain the newest most advanced and compare the two. just want some insight before i start.

Should the bass eq on my sundown amp be all the way down. I know my bass boost is supposed to be on 0. I have my subsonic filter on 30, enclosure tuned to 33hz.. crossover on 80.. Gain is about 80 too. To tune the amp right shouldent i turn up the volume all the way and make sure the gain is at 0 and carefully adjust, until you hear distortion turn it down a little?

Got 2 MB Quart 12's in my Jimmy right now. 300w rms power handling. I'm running a SAZ-1500 on them. Any guesses as to what it will do? It's tuned for music not burping so it's not gonna do anything crazy. I was just have some fun seeing what I could get some cheap subs to do.

So my ex had a cat and my subs suffered for it that will teach me to leave them lying around (haven't even used them yet). It's a RE SX 12 from about 2005-2006. Is there anyone that can rebuild it or am i looking at a loss. Its not been used so everything is good just not the cap that was punctured. Thanks for any advice toward a fix. I want to use the set in a 1996 lincoln town car I hope at least.
