Hello guys I have a 1995 Mercedes E320 Sedan, and have been figuring out what I should upgrade my amazing skar evl-12 in a 34hz ported box with and I think the best bang for buck option that will make a noticeable difference is the sundown sa classic series from yardsale. I will be powering it with the same amp that I use on my skar(a sundown sfb-1500d), I know they can handle more the 1700w rms but my electrical system will be overdriven if I keep upgrading amps, I think I will put 2 sa classic-12s in a 4.5 cubic ft box tuned to 35hz slightly bigger than the manufacture recommends. I might potentially upgrade to the sia 1750d with 1/0 guage ofc wire in the future. I don…

So I have a Poineer 3200bt, Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.75" speakers/tweets on a Pioneer GM-9500F amp, 12" RD Alpha V.2 powered by a Cadence ZRS-8 (1500rms). I have 1/0 gauge from my battery then it runs into a distributor with two 4 gauge leads coming out to the amps. 12 gauge from my 9500F to the speakers/tweets. I had the cadence amp and sub in my previous car ('98 accord coupe) and my lights would dim a little with the volume high. In my 2011 mazda 3 I sedan. I have my volume at 24 and the lights dim on every bass note, and I was on the freeway last night got my rpm's at 3k and at 26 my lights were still dimming. The bass on the HU is set to -4 and I can turn my speakers (wit…

i have 3 seats in the front bench of my truck. when i sit in the middle, the imaging is pretty good. the singer's voice is in the center, guitars/drums/etc in their proper places. however, when i sit in the driver's seat, the horizontal bias is horrible. sometimes i hear the left tweeter a lot since its pretty close to my head (a-pillar), other times i hear my right mid over everything else (maybe cuz its more on axis?). the tweeters arent mounted for perfect imaging rite now cuz i dont have time to glass the flush mount cups to the a-pillars. theyre mounted above ear level and kinding pointing to the stomach of the middle seat so maybe thats the cause? lemme know whatcha…

Alright well iv decided to get a 15"ssd with a soundstream rub1600. I need power wire... and should i get a capacitor?... i have all stock electrical. But i ordered a volt meter to watch and make sure my voltage dosnt go to low... but i am thinking a 5 cuft box with pvc ports... tuned to like 35hz... or lower... not sure yet. Possibly square interchangable ports.. its going in a tundra access cab.. any ideas? I have a sheet of like 3/8" plastic for a window in the box. Possible leds in the box... not sure yet but def a window. So any crazy ideas to make this build original? Im 18 but pretty skilled with a saw and router.. let me know.

So I've been debating on how to do my front stage for a while, and would appreciate some help. I currently have an 880prs for the processing and 8 channels of amplification to work with. I have an arc 400.4 and an older cadence ZRS-4. These are the drivers that I have http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-352 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=277-035 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-376 I need help with crossover points. One of my latest ideas was to ditch the tweeter and run the full range higher. (Is it possible to have it play that high, or a bad idea?) I know that I'm probably leaving out vital inf…

Hey guys, I’ve had this system for the past three months and I’m not very fond of it.. Especially the Kicker Sub. It doesn’t hit hard at all and with some low bass songs it sounds like I may be using a little boom box. I was wondering if the system that I have set up should be sounding great or if what I’m getting is expected from this kicker sub. In my old truck I had an Alpine type S 12” amped, not sure if my expectations are too high. Also with my amped Alpine Type R speakers I’m not getting any bass what so ever. Was wondering if that’s normal or if the guy I had set my system up tuned the speaker amp wrong. I have a Chevy Silverado 2008 Crew Cab. The s…

Well i can hear the Bl is reeking havoc on my box when it hits the low notes i can hear an air leak even with a monster port. Thing is id like to be able to have to option to move from one 15bl too two down the road. Question is do i build 2 separate boxes and just leave one out for now or do i make say a 8+cuft box and run one in it for now. I don't think that would work considering the port area would be to large for just the one sub right? Anyways i got a 21.5xin40inx26in (HxWxD) space to work with and i can barley manage it but i can get two 21x20x26 boxes with 4.01cuft after displacement and tuned to 32hz in there. what do you guys think i should do?

Sold my Sundown Audio SA-10's and looking at upgrading to a single 12" or 15" SSA Zcon. Not sure I can fit 4 cubes for the 15, but can probably fit in 3 cubes. What would be louder, the 12" be in 2.5 cubes or the 15" in 3 cubes? Either sub would be ran off a Sundown Audio saz2500d.

Hello guys i have recently pulled all the factory crap out of my truck and ordered some things but i have a few problems. I bought a set of Cadence CVLT-35B tweeters along with a pair of Selenium St-200s i also purchased two pair of Alpine SPS-500(i know i could have gotten components just didnt want to) . The amp i have is a Hifonics HFi100.4 and the headunit is a Pioneer AVH-P5200BT. At the time of purchase i didnt know the seleniums needed a bass blocker of some sort so i searched and came across using an active crossover. My question is would i be able to use what i have listed with the addition of a crossover or should i buy a separate amp for the tweeters? The cros…

Hey fellas, not sure where to post this so here it is. I have a bus we drive for church on Wednesday's and we got a bunch of rowdy kids(saginaw area) so i installed a radio on the bus and we have a CB style mic but its not powered so as you all know the signal it sends isnt strong enough to amplify to make it audible. So my question is do any of you guys know an easy fix for this? Like a mic that is self powered or what not? Any help or direction would be great. 35 rowdy kids imma end up with no voice.

Right now I'm talking to my dad about a system for our boat. We have a Yamaha AR230. He wants a whole new system. He wants new speakers to fill the orginal spots. Then he wants bass. He was looking at JL audio, but I told him not to get that, because it's too expensive for what he wants. I don't think he would really tell the difference between JL and something else. I want to get him some subs and amps from the VVME website. I know they're not the best subs, but they're cheap and will get the job done for what he wants. Warm weather is almost here for us, so we're going to get the boat back soon. I havent really measured what space he has, but I'm pretty sure it will…

So I'm building a ported box and i am definitely a noob at all this. I have 2 jl audio 12w6 and online they give me all the measurements for the ported box. My problem is i'm confused on the tuning aspect of ported enclosures. I'm going to give you all a link to jls website at the bottom that tells you all the measurements for the box. Now if i have this right all i have to do is fallow the port measurements (and all the other measurements of course) and my box will be tuned to 32hz right? http://www.jlaudio.com/12w6v2-d4-car...-drivers-92121 go to specifications tab and at the bottom it will say ported enclosure specifications I know its only for one subwoofer but it sa…

My e12 came in the mail today (sweet sub btw!) so I put it in my custom sub box in the car to see how it looks (2.00cuft tuned 32hz) and the sub hole is sliiiightly too small (won't fit completely flush). Any ideas on how to make this work? I suppose sanding down the hole till the sub can fit flush. What would be the easiest and safest way to get the sub to fit? I know for sure that I want to use this box, so another box isn't an option. (paid $120 for box) they even said oversized subs may require slight mod to box. I'm a little upset though that the sub won't fit. But any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance.

ok. i was gonna get 2 15" jbl gtx's(old models) for like 85 shipped. problem is, theyre 4 ohm each, so that can only be wired to either 2 or 8 ohm's right? the amp im looking at is 500w rms @ 4 ohm(its a home audio plate amplifier from partsexpress.com) thats the other thing, are those amps any good? these are the 2 i was looking at: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-806 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-752 if not, any other suggestions? other places to buy em? (i was gonna run a car audio amp, but til i buy the amp and a power converter, i think its cheaper to buy a home audio amp. last question. since the amp can only be ru…

I am currently running a single sundown sa-8 under my rear seat in my truck. Dual 2 ohm voice coils. Powering it with a us amps md -1d At 4 ohms. I want a little more and was debating about buying a Memphis mojo 8” to fit in same box so I could wire it down to 1 ohm to get more juice from the amplifier. The mojo Is rated at 900 w rms 1800 max(stated on website). The amp pushes 1200 w at 1 ohm. (Claimed) the sundown is rated around 500 rms. Any suggestions on which route to go? Is the Memphis better then the sundown?

Ok, so I have an issue with going active. I currently have a head of lettuce and two salad forks going to 4 carrots and two sets of cucumbers. If I were to crossover the carrots between 60-600 hz and the cucumbers to 400-10khz would this sound good on 60rms coming from my potato? Please I need help I can come up with 2 boiled eggs and some salad dressing if I have to, but i'd like to stick between onions and celery.

My friend just bought an SA 15 with a SAZ 1500D v2(used) I told him that amp is too much for that sub but he said nah he knows what he's doing. Now he's calling me and asking me how can he power the sub without blowing it. Lol. I don't know what to tell him as I've never overpowered a sub and wanted good results before lol. Any tips on how to do so? Thanks in advance.
