Hello once again, last time I wrote here I was debating on getting 2 10's, and a amp looking to spend maybe about $500 to $600, then I stopped chasing a dream that was a bit out of my grasps... Something funny has been going on with my sound system the past two weeks. I've been noticing that the bass from my subs and door speakers sound distorted . This is not all the time though, my system will sometimes sound perfectly clean and then go back to playing with the distorted signal again. My electrical is currently stock with 2 gauge wire, a capacitor and my sub amp is a sundown sa 125.2 which does get very hot. I have previosly blew all the fuses in my amp but they were replaced at a local shop. My voltage is usually bouncing around between 10 and 12 according to the meter on my cap. What do you think my problem is and how can I fix it?

Ok, my dumb ass can't figure this out. I have a pair of dual 4 ohm 12's. If I wire each sub in series to make 8 ohms then wire the 2 subs together to get 4 ohms, would that mean a pair of strapped 1500d's will see 2 ohms each? Thanks for any input!

ok so i have 2 dc level 4 15" with the level 5 dual 1 ohm coils and they are rated 1500 a piece and im only pushing one hifonics bxi2010d (its max is 2000 at 1 ohm) to them so i know its not nearly enough power that they can handle and i know that the amp prob isn't putting out 2000 at 1 ohm. My question is should i get another hifonics bxi2010d and run one amp to each sub or should i look into something like sundown? like their 3500d or something like that??? thanks in advance for the help??

hey guys i have 18in fi BL dual 1ohm being powed by JBl gto 1200 amp and just wanted to make sure i get a speaker wire that will allow enough flow of power and still fit. any help i'd appreciate it.

Im looking into to upgrading to a high output alternator. I was searching high output alternators for 1999 ford contour and found db electrical. they sell a 220A alt for 239 plus like 20 shipping. i think thats reasonable but id like to know if its worth it. anyone have any experience with db electrical alternators? also open to suggestions on other places to look. i have a 1999 ford contour 4 cyclinder 2.0 liter. id ike to keep the cost around 2-300 but i can probably go a little higher if i have to.

ok so i just checked my tweeters out today and their blown....so i was wondering what tweeters should i get ( i just need two) and the ones that blew were diamond audio s600 hex. Also should i use bass blockers this time because i believe that they blew because they were getting to low of a frequency.

I'm all for measuring. The ear isn't quite cutting. There are many alternatives, believe me, I've used, tried and experimented with. Some of them are free, with save limitations. All of them are complicated with all sorts of calibration requirements and so-forth. Not to mention the mics and external sound cards add up quickly. I'd like something simple and fast. I dig the term-lab but the cost to play is serious. I came across this alternative . It looks promising. I did a quick search here and saw it's been mentioned a couple of times here and there with no real follow up. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on something like this. So my front speakers stopped working and its not a big deal they were cheapo sony 5 1/4"'s, temporary until I got my components. And it was raining one day while I had the speakers were out and I saw the amount of water that runs down the door and gathers at the bottom and then drains out.. This cannot be good for my speakers, and considering there was rust on the back of the burnt up speakers this has to be the culprit. I was planning on putting a nice set of components in but there is no point if they are just gonna get destroyed by rain water.. What would you guys do?

I built 2 boxes lately and I will be doing a 3rd soon, and I love buying tools so I "need" a router. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg, but I will spend what is required to have a decent setup(not harbor freight). I want to be able to do speaker hole cut outs with it, round the edges of the box and ports, and anything else that is usefull. Im not sure what bits I would need either, I was thinking 3 one to make cut outs, one for rounded edges, and one to flush mount on a double baffle. Also I think I need the jasper circle jig unless there is a better/cheaper alternative.

See I got my own single Fi BTL12 last year.Now I'm working on how to compete in my hometown sound chellenge.I found out that its gonna be a lil bit diffrent getting a DB measurement when you pop up the trunk.Back in my country,that's how we do it.I know its kinda idiot try to get the DB reading while you opened up your trunk.. I just won my 1st SPL challenge in own place..they got 2 diffrents category that is (internal & External) during the the internal way I hit 133.6DB and 127.7DB for the external...I'm using the 1.4CF for my enclosure...can somebody help me with the box enclosure so I can reach higher DB for both category? coz I'm ready to take on any battle aft…

I have some questions, hope I can get help. Where can I buy 2/0 AWG wire? Whats a good brand? model? Does 2/0 gauge really make a difference over Zero (1/0) gauge? Is anything thicker (3/0, 4/0) than 2/0 overkill and waste of space? Thanks

Hi fellas. I am on the market looking for new eardubs. I was pretty happy with my original ones from Sony Ericsson till they stop working and I bought some cheap ones which are very bad. My phone is SE Walkman W810i. The sound was awesome with its eardubs and I am looking for something at the same or better level of quality. Must feel good in my ear, sealing good the environment sounds like road noise etc, very good response in all desired frequencies and deep bass. And not very expensive. I noticed this problem starting about a week ago. My sub will lose output by about half and play like that for a while, then start pounding again. It doesn't seem to matter if the volume is high or low. I checked all the wiring going into the amp and everything is tight. Took the sub out of the box and recrimped everything. I'm running the stock HU, an MTX RFL600D and a 10" Clarion SW1051. Amp is only running at 4 ohms (rated 300 watts @ 4 ohms). Stock electrical also. Lights don't dim at all. I've got a spare sub laying around, but it's a 12" and I don't have a box for it and no means to whip up a temporary box. What's the best way to start eliminating what the problem c…

ok, im have a big, big problem right now. i dont know what i want to do with my truck. im really into the whole "wall your truck out and go deaf" thing. but now that i have a extended cab truck, i dont know that i want to do it. im still trying to decided on giving up all that room to do this. i was talking to a friend, and he asked what if people wanted to go ride around and stuff. so i dont know what i really want to do. im stuck in the middle here. on one side, i love car audio and on the other, i like chilling with the friends. can anybody sorta led me in the right direction?
