Round two. I never decided on what I was going to name my HT towers. I want to get a couple gold plaques engraved with a name on it. If there's any other suggestions, let me know. "Stallone" is "stallion" in Italian. "Apollo" was the Greek olympian God of the arts. "Potente" is "powerful" in Italian. "Zephyr" ... you know, the new Lincoln. "Mondo" ... might go with that one, personal meaning.

$30 brand new. Hell, I couldn't imagine even finding a plate amp this cheap. I got the whole thing for a fraction of the plate amp. Guess I'll have to set fire to the old CPU subbox, and plug the driver into the 240 plug.

What is more important to place deadner on? The outer layer of the door? Or the inner metal where the speaker mounts?

So I am helping a friend install a new system into his car. Right now we are looking at running either a single 12 pushing 2k watts to it or running 2 10's, each with 1k watts. Question.....a very loud SPL oriented daily driver is the goal, would the 2 10's be better do to sheer cone area or would the 12 be better???? I am thinking the 2 10's but I want to double check to be on the safe side before I tell him wrong. ----------------------------------------------- 2 10" BL's or 1 12" BTL

So I am running whats in my sig and hit a 147.4 @ 36hz so far. My subs get hot pretty quickly and my goal is to hit 150. I'm sure I could get better numbers with another box as mine is for daily driving music but I like that. I was thinking of trying a new box just to see the difference for now but I'm also thinking of going with a single sub setup as space is limited in my little ranger. If I were to go with a single sub, I was thinking of something with more power handling like a BTL N3 in 15" or 18". Either way, I would like daily 150's. I am very open to suggestions and recomendations. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

edit by M5: Topic split to allow the OP to have his thread back. Split from here: what Hybrids have you used? just curious as well, what cost less that in your opinion outperforms? I am looking to try some new mid-bass drivers for the doors, so I never mind trying new equipment. Just as far as midranges I have never found anything to touch my L4's

I have 2 runs of 0 and running 2 more sometime when I get time ( already have it) . . I was wondering if you need the same amount of ground as you do power.like Should I use 2 of the runs for ground and 2 for power or all 4 power and 4 grounds in the back or 3 power and 1 ground from front and 2 grounds in the back or what? There will be at least 4 runs no matter what. Just seeing what y'all think I should do

The new TV has 2 built in speakers. One speaker makes a weird crackle sound with any bass. It sounds as it a plastic bead is being vibrated and the plastic bead is bouncing. Like that type of a crackle noise. Main issue is that the left speaker makes the crackle noise and the right speaker sounds fine. Im assuming i should just try to exchange the TV to fix the issue, since i just bought it? I could hookup external speakers, but I would still like the TV speakers to work and not have to worry about them. Anything else i can do to check whats causing the issue or maybe i can fix it? but i dont think so, sadly :[ Thanks!

Soooo, some stupid drugged up moron stole a truck on the other side of my neighborhood....while running from the cops he plowed right through my truck and totalled it completely....right after just getting it ready to put a system in a blowthrough. Sooo, now I am pimpin a nice newer 2008 F150 FX2 (bright red)....it is pretty sexy....anyway, I dont think I really want to do a blowthrough anymore. This truck looks more like a performance truck, so I am thinkin of just putting some subs under the back seats (4 dr) to keep the weight down a little. I have never sat in a truck that had subs under the seats......how do they sound and can they get decently loud? again, this …

Originally posted on caraudio.com Well as most of you know, I recently finished the system I have been waiting for forever.... if not look in my sig. But anyway.... I was driving to work today, playing a song at low volume that doesn't have very much bass at all.... and suddenly I hear this horrible "pop" from my trunk. So, I turned the volume down all the way, and about that time, the most godawful sound came out of the subs.... extrememly loud and fart sounding. When I went to check it out... two of them were blown. Anyone who knows me knows that everything was installed correctly... subs wired correctly, gain set to match input voltage, low bass boost setting.... etc …

Sorry for the massive pics. Deal with it. Stock deck: Alpine CDA-9813: Kicks with trim rings mounted: Kicks ... fleeced style: Resined kicks: Driver side before: Driver side after: Passenger side before: Passenger side after: Painting in progress: My makeshift paint booth (hey, it was windy): Resin smells. Bondo is the biggest pain in the ass ever ... so I quit, sanded half assed, and painted - so yes, there's flaws right now. But I'll make them perfect eventually. Ignore the wires, they're hidden now. CL-61's if you're wondering. Make sure to use enough resin to soak ALL the way through the fleece ... it takes a LOT to do this. Hmmm what else ... oh, th…

So I have an XCON 15 and im finally getting a ported box designed. Thing is the optimal size I'd 4 cubes ( could be wrong, I can't check right now) and the box I already designed is 5.5 cubes after subtracting all Displacements. Tuned to 31. Is this to much box for the sub? Will it bottom out? Thanks guys. I'm a green horn when it comes to this
